Gospel Reading: Luke 9:11-17
Jesus spoke to the crowds about the kingdom of God, and he healed those who
needed to be cured. As the day was drawing to a close, the Twelve approached him
and said, "Dismiss the crowd so that they can go to the surrounding villages and
farms and find lodging and provisions; for we are in a deserted place here."
He said to them, "Give them some food yourselves." They replied, "Five loaves and
two fish are all we have, unless we ourselves go and buy food for all these people."
Now the men there numbered about five thousand. Then he said to his disciples,
"Have them sit down in groups of about fifty." They did so and made them all sit
down. Then taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he
said the blessing over them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before
the crowd. They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover fragments were
picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets.

This is the third of three columns on the
Parish Five Year Strategic Plan
Dear Friends of St. Louise,
Queridos Amigos de Santa Luisa:
It seems appropriate that I would conclude
the series of three columns about our
parish strategic plan on the Solemnity of
the Body and Blood of the Lord. The
Sacrament of the Body and Blood of the
Lord is given to us so that we may become Christ’s own body
and blood in the world – and our Strategic Plan is meant to put
“flesh and blood” on how we live that out at St. Louise for the
next five years. Here are the last two of the eight pillars:
Facilities
Provide a facility structure for the entire parish to carry out its
mission, allowing each parishioner to connect with God and with
God’s people as discerned throughout our retreat and survey
input processes. Reevaluate the Master Building Plan so that it
supports the spiritual and physical needs of our dynamic parish.
It must meet the current demands of parish programs and allow
for the expansion of new programs over the next 20 years.
Construction of the Master Plan should be completed, in no
more than two phases, by 2025.
Instalaciones
Resources
We need to ensure that we have the right number of staff and
volunteer resources in place to address all the needs of our
parish community and its vision for the future. We will develop
leaders who want to empower God’s baptized to fully live out
our call of service in the Church. We need to address increases
in staff and determine the right mix of collegiality, skills and
leadership styles to facilitate new programs and further
empowerment of volunteers.
I will continue to work with the Parish Staff to develop specific
goals to implement the strategic plan and with the Parish
Pastoral Council to regularly communicate with our parish
leaders about how the goals are being implemented each year.
Thank you for your prayers, and your comments are always
welcome.
Fr. Gary Zender

Recursos

Eastside Baby Corner Drive
JUNE 5 AFTER 9AM AND 11AM MASSES
You and your family can help
thousands of underprivileged
youth this summer. Donate
gently-used books, clothing,
and sporting gear at the
upcoming Eastside Baby Corner (EBC) Drive.
EBC provides assistance to children, newborn through the teenage
years. When school is out, donations tend to dwindle, so it’s our goal to
help them have an active and enriching summer!
Just drop off your goods or cash donations on Sunday, June 5, after the
9AM or 11AM Masses, in the church parking lot near the St. Louise
Youth Hub. (Please focus on diapers, gently-used clothing and books,
and sporting goods such as shoes/cleats, ballet slippers, dance gear,
helmets, etc. We cannot accept large items such as strollers, car seats,
bikes, or large sporting equipment.)
The St. Louise 5th grade Junior Girl Scouts are
sponsoring this Eastside Baby Corner Drive. For
questions please contact Cheryl Sutton,
[email protected] or 425-698-9657.

invite all families and couples to attend Mass together making this a special event. All married couples
will renew their vows and celebrate the joys of family life. We will especially recognize those whose
anniversary ends in 0 or 5. Last year, our longest-married couple at St. Louise had been married
72 years!
It is also recommended that anyone who has been hurt or who struggles with Sacramental Marriage

A Thank You Note
from the Stewardship Commission
A huge thank you to all of the ethnic
communities who participated in celebrating
the rich diversity of our parish at Ethnic Fest

to have 13 ethnic communities who hosted
the educational display booths and provided
food samples from their respective countries.
In addition, 11 countries provided lively,
joy-filled, ethnic music and dance
performances. The food, the performances,
and the community-building were very fun
and faith-filled!! A special thank you to the hosts of the display
booths, the food preparers, and the performers, as well as to the
Knights of Columbus and the St. Louise Youth Ministry. It was a
wonderful afternoon of many cultures coming together in the

Feast of Corpus Christi
“They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover
fragments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets.”
Luke 9:17
The story of the loaves and fishes shows us that when we share
what we have, even if it doesn’t seem like that much, miracles
can happen! Do not think that your gift is too small or
insignificant! God blesses all the gifts we offer and makes them
wondrous.

Domingo 5 DE JUNIO, Misa: 1PM - Padre Gary
SOLEMNIDAD DEL CUERPO Y LA SANGRE DE
CRISTO (CORPUS CHRISTI)
presenta a Jesús recibiendo, enseñando, sanando y mostrando

Project Rachel
Hope and Healing after abortion
“I have worn a mask since that very
day. The day I aborted my child. I
was convinced, without a doubt,
that God would not, absolutely
would not forgive me. My mask
after Rachel retreat? It is crushed
here on the floor. It no longer exists. I don’t need a mask
anymore! God forgave me!” - Testimonial after Retreat
Come on a Rachel’s Vineyard™ Retreat and hand Him your
mask. Allow His mercy to transform you completely.
August 12-14, 2016, Call Valerie: 1-800-822-HOPE (4673).
You are loved with an everlasting Love!
Project Rachel is a program of Catholic Community Services.
