Summer Trading School London 2016 The Summer Trading School, delivered by LSBF and London Academy of Trading is offering practical financial trading courses for school leavers, undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Summer Trading School aims to provide students with an understanding of how financial markets are traded in the real world as well as an introduction to the strategic and structured approach to building trading strategies. LSBF and LAT have a long tradition of teaching graduates and professionals across a variety of financial subjects on both short and long-term programmes. These programmes are designed to fill the knowledge gaps others overlook and help to enhance individual employability. This programme provides students with a real “life of a trader” experience. Taught by LSBF and LAT expert lecturers, traders and mentors, the course will develop and enhance students’ understanding of the financial markets trading industry. Summer Trading School Events Students will also have the opportunity to visit either Bloomberg, London Metal Exchange, London Stock Exchange & the Bank of England, all located in the heart of the City of London in which students will learn about the services that these prestigious institutions provide. It will provide a strong understanding of the various products, and allow you to explore the mechanisms of equity investments, fixed income securities and derivative markets. You will also learn how to identify and understand the key macroeconomic and financial factors that govern the financial markets and influence investment decisions. Trading in Financial Markets LONDON 18 July - 22 July 2016 This is a very practical course which will provide students with an understanding of how financial markets are traded in the real world. Based on the academy’s fully-equipped trading floor, students will learn how macroeconomic and political news affects market prices and will execute trades in real-time markets. Trading psychology and risk management are also explained during the academic sessions, as well as fundamental and technical trading techniques. The module aims to provide a stimulating and realistic trading experience in assets such as FX, commodities and equity indices. External visits to financial institutions such as Bank of England, London Metal Exchange and Bloomberg may also be arranged during the course. Trading Strategies LONDON 25 July - 29 July 2016 This course develops the ideas introduced in the Trading of Financial Markets course to enable students to start to create structured trading strategies, drawing on the advice and experience of the academic and mentoring team. Students will be taught how technical, fundamental and behavioural analysis tools can be combined to create better trading decisions. Through our live simulated trading platforms, students will become traders for the week as they apply learned knowledge to real-time financial markets. The aim of this module is to give students a real “week in the life of a trader” experience. WHO IS IT FOR? ENTRY REQUIREMENTS The programme requires no prior knowledge of trading or financial markets since we start with a beginners guide to financial markets and work from the bottom up. Proof of English proficiency: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Otherwise an internal online assessment test is available. El trato que recibí de ellos fue maravilloso. Me ayudaron tanto en el papeleo como en buscar residencia, estoy muy agradecido. Se trataba de 3 cursos, uno por semana, pero con un mismo fin, perfeccionar el conocimiento sobre los mercados financieros. Dicho curso se llevaba acabo en la universidad LSBF, situada en Tower Hill, una prestigiosa universidad de Londres. Durante la primera semana el curso se dividía en dos partes, una teórica y otra práctica. En la primera teníamos una serie de seminarios sobre los mercados financieros, muy enriquecedores y prácticos. En la parte teórica nos centrábamos en el uso de Bloomberg. Al tratarse de una semana, no pudimos profundizar mucho en dicho programa, pero si que aprendimos lecciones avanzadas sobre su uso. En la segunda semana subimos a la planta del LAT. En ella nos asignaban a cada estudiante un número de usuario, con el fin de poder operar ficticiamente con el FXCM. Las dos últimas semanas de curso se basaban principalmente en conocer el funcionamiento del FXCM. Teníamos unas clases teóricas de 2 horas, en ellas aprendíamos como estudiar y valorar las gráficas de cara a futuras posiciones en el mercado, y una vez terminada la clase nos íbamos a los terminales. Me gustaría resaltar todo lo que he aprendido en el LAT. En esas dos semanas he aprendido a utilizar el FXCM a nivel profesional, y de hecho ya estoy invirtiendo con una cuenta real. La metodología que se llevaba acabo en dicha escuela de inversión era excelente, y salgo muy contento del trato que recibimos por parte de los mentores hacia nosotros, los alumnos. Por último, me gustaría recomendar este curso a todos los estudiantes/profesionales que quieran encaminar su carrera hacia el mundo de los mercados financieros. Alvaro Salazar
