ESQUÍ NÁUTICO
WATER SKIING
El esquiador náutico se desplaza a gran velocidad sobre
la superficie del mar y tiene limitada su capacidad de
maniobra, con el riesgo que ello comporta para otros
usuarios, como bañistas, submarinistas y otras
embarcaciones. Para disfrutar sin problemas del esquí,
siga las siguientes recomendaciones.
A water skier travels at high speed across the surface
of the sea and his ability to manoeuvre is limited, with
the risks this implies for other uses, like bathers,
divers and other boats. Follow the recommendations
below to enjoy problem free skiing.

POR SU SEGURIDAD
• Utilice como medio de remolque una embarcación
con el diseño de construcción y la potencia
adecuados. Los tripulantes de la embarcación deberán
poseer la titulación náutica, el seguro y la autorización
de la Federación de Esquí Náutico que corresponda.
• No está permitida la práctica del esquí náutico en el
interior de puertos, en los canales de acceso a los
mismos, en zonas de boyas de fondeo, en zonas de
alta concentración de embarcaciones, ya estén
fondeadas o en navegación, y en las zonas de playas
balizadas para uso exclusivo de los bañistas.
• En los tramos de costa no balizados como zona de
baño, se entiende que ésta ocupa una franja de 200
metros, si está frente a una playa, y de 50 metros de
ancho en el resto de la costa.
• En el interior de estas zonas no se debe superar la
velocidad de tres nudos.
• Utilice siempre chaleco salvavidas.
• Además del patrón, en la embarcación de remolque
deberá estar una persona pendiente siempre del
esquiador.
• El patrón de la embarcación deberá permanecer
atento a su derrota, a cualquier obstáculo o incidencia
en la navegación.

FOR YOUR SAFETY
• Use a boat with a suitable design and power for
towing a skier. The boat’s crew must have the
pertinent sailing qualifications, insurance and permit
from the Federation of Water Skiing.
• Water skiing is not allowed in harbours, in the access
channels to harbours, in areas with mooring buoys, in
areas of heavy traffic, whether the vessels are moored
or sailing, or in areas marked with buoys for bathers
only.
• On stretches of coastline that are not buoyed for
swimming, the bathing only area is understood to be a
200 metre strip from a beach, or a 50 metre strip
from the rest of the coastline.
• The speed limit within this zone is three knots.
• Always use a life jacket.
• Apart from the skipper, there should be another
person in the tow boat watching the skier at all times.
• The skipper of the tow boat must pay attention to his
course and any obstacle in his way or incident that
could affect the boat.
