Dear Parents,
Our year is moving quickly! It is hard to believe that two weeks have passed already. I
pray that your child has begun to settle back into their school routine.
This week, our school will attend mass on Thursday to celebrate the feast day of Our
Lady of Charity. The story of our patron Saint is an amazing. It involves how
important prayer is for all of us! I urge you to take the time with your child to do
some research this week. Please do not forget to join us the evening of September
8th for the mass to install Fr. Sergio Mena as our pastor. It is quite an exciting day! In
order to be able to partake in this event, Curriculum Night has been postponed.
Watch for the rescheduled date soon.
Another exciting event that is taking place is the canonization of Saint Teresa of
Calcutta. She was born in 1910 and dies in 1997. She made her final profession of vows
in 1928. Saint Teresa was well know for her work with the poor. After her passing, it
was interesting to discover that even she was unsure about her relationship with God.
At times she felt that separated and even rejected by God, however, she was
determined in her faith. Yesterday, September 5, 2016 marked the 19th year since her
passing in the joys of heaven. Most of us parents probably heard about “Mother
Teresa” in our life.
This weekend, is the Patronal Feast of Our Lady of Charity. It is a weekend of
great fun with great people! There will be food and entertainment. Admission is free!
We always have parents looking for uniforms. If you have any gently used uniforms
that your child(ren) no longer need, please consider donating them to the school for
families that are in need of them.
Last week, we came together as a school and learned about the Virtues of Respect
and Responsibility. We discussed our rights as human beings.: the right to shelter,
food, warmth, etc. With all these rights we have, we learned that there are
responsibilities. Not following through with our responsibilities can be hurtful to
others feelings, or can make things unfair. We also talked about respect- for ourselves
and others. The best way for a child to learn the virtues is by seeing them in action!
Next week, World’s Finest Chocolate will be sent home with our students. Please
remember that this money is due on or before September 30th. Any monies not
returned will be charged to your FACTS account. Each case is $60. Eery student will
bering home a case. Thank you of your support! If you are able to sell additional cases
of chocolate, you will be awarded with PCP hours! Every additional case will earn you
4 PCP hours. Call the office to request an additional box.

¡Queridos padres de familia!
¡Nuestro año escolar se está yendo muy rápido! Es difícil para mí creer que ya pasaron 2
semanas. Estoy rezando para que sus hijos e hijas hayan comenzado a entrar en su
rutina escolar. Esta semana nuestra escuela atenderá misa el Jueves para celebrar el día
festivo de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad. La historia de nuestra Santa Patrona es
asombrosa. ¡Enseña que tan importante es la oración para todos nosotros! Les
recomiendo tomar un tiempo junto con su hijo(a) esta semana para hacer la
investigación de nuestra patron and nuestra Señora de la Caridad
Por favor recuerde reunirse con nosotros la noche de Septiembre 8 para la misa de nombramiento
del padre Sergio Mena como nuestro pastor. ¡Sera un día muy emocionante! Para poder participar
en este evento fue necesario posponer la noche del plan de estudios (Curriculum night). La fecha
será reprogramada , este pendiente.
Otro evento emocionante que tendremos será la canonización de la Madre Teresa de Calcuta. Ella
nació en 1910 y murió en 1997. Hizo sus votos religiosos finales en 1928. Santa Teresa fue bien
conocida por su trabajo con los pobres. Después de su fallecimiento, fue interesante descubrir
que ella no estaba segura acerca de su relación con Dios. En algunos momentos se sentía apartada
e inclusive rechazada por Dios, sin embargo, se mantuvo determinada en su fe. El día de ayer,
Septiembre 5 2016, esta marcado como el 19º aniversario de su partida a el gozo celestial. La
mayoría de nosotros los padres probablemente escuchamos acerca “de Madre Teresa” en nuestra
vida.
Este fin de semana, es la fiesta patronal de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad. Será un fin de
semana de gran diversión con gran gente. Habrá comida y entretenimiento. ¡Entrada gratis!
Siempre tenemos padres de familia en busca de uniformes. Si usted tiene algún uniforme
gentilmente usado y que su hijo(a) ya no necesite, por favor considere donarlos a la escuela para
aquellas familias que los necesiten.
La semana pasada, venimos a aprender juntos como escuela acerca de las Virtudes del Respeto y la
Responsabilidad. Platicamos acerca de nuestros derechos como seres humanos: Derecho al
abrigo, comida, cobijo, etc. Aprendimos que con todos estos derechos llegan también las
responsabilidades. El no seguir nuestras responsabilidades puede lastimar los sentimientos de
otros o podemos hacer cosas injustas. Nosotros también hablamos acerca del respeto por
nosotros y por los demás. ¡La mejor manera para que sus hijos aprendan acerca de estas virtudes
es viéndolas en acción!
La próxima semana, los chocolates de World’s Finest serán enviados a casa con nuestros
estudiantes. Por favor recuerden que la fecha para la entrega del dinero es Septiembre 30.
Cualquier cantidad de dinero no devuelta será cargada a su cuenta de FACTS. Serán $60 por caja
y cada estudiante llevara a casa una caja de chocolates. ¡Gracias por su apoyo! ¡Si usted quiere
vender cajas adicionales de chocolates le será recompensado con horas PCP! Por cada caja
adicional de chocolates se le otorgaran 4 horas. Llame a la oficina para pedir cajas adicionales.
