Family Prayer
L
oving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers
and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times of
war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the
battle of today against violence, murder and racism.
We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build
a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives
respect to the life and dignity of all people.
Bless parents that they may form their children in faith.
Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost
loved ones through violence.
Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice
for life and human dignity in our community.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us.
Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy
family.

Praise to the Lord, The Almighty
1. Praise to the Lord,
the Almighty, the king of crea on!
O my soul, praise him, for
he is your health and salva on!
Come, all who hear:
Brothers and sisters, draw near,
Praise him in glad adora on!
and the gi4s we have
we are given to share.
May the Spirit of love
make us one indeed;
one, the love that we share,
one, our hope in despair,
one, the cross that we bear.
1. God of all, we look to you,
we would be your servants true,
let us be your love to all the world.
2. So my pain is pain for you,
in your joy is my joy, too;
all is brought together in the Lord.
4. Praise to the Lord'
O let all that is in us adore him!
All that has life and breath
come now with praises before him!
Let the 'Amen!'
Sound from his people again'
Gladly with praise we adore him!

We Are Many Parts
Refrain
We are many parts,
we are all one body,
2. For all your church,
O Lord, we intercede;
O make our lack of
charity to cease;
Draw us the nearer
each to each we plead,
By drawing all to you,
O Prince of Peace.
Thus may we all one Bread,
one Body be;
Through this blest Sacrament
of Unity.
3. We pray for those who
wander from the fold;
O bring them back,
Good Shepherd of the sheep,
Back to the faith which
saints believed of old,
Back to the Church which
s ll that faith does keep.
Thus may we all one Bread,
one Body be;
Through this blest Sacrament of Unity.
2. Praise to the Lord,
above all things so migh ly reigning;
Keeping us safe at his side,
and so gently sustaining.
Have you not seen
All you have needed has been
Met by his gracious ordaining?
3. Praise to the Lord, who shall
prosper our work and defend us;
Surely his goodness and
mercy shall daily a,end us.
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do,
Who with his love will befriend us.
law of love renew.
Thus may we all one Bread,
one Body be;
Through this blest Sacrament
of Unity.

Glory and Praise to Our God
Refrain
Glory and praise to our God,
who alone gives light to our days.
Many are the blessings he bears
to those who trust in his ways.

the daughters and sons of him
who built the valleys and plains,
praise the wonders
our God has done
in ev’ry heart that sings.

There's a Wideness in God's Mercy
1. There's a wideness in God's mercy
Page 4
Like the wideness of the sea;
There's a kindness in God’s jus ce,
Which is more than liberty.
There is plen ful redemp on
In the blood that has been shed;
There is joy for all the members
In the sorrows of the Head.
2. There is welcome for the sinner,
And a promised grace made good;
There is mercy with the Savior;
There is healing in Christ’s blood.
There is grace enough for thousands
Of new worlds as great as this;
There is room for fresh crea ons
In that upper home of bliss.
Refrain
So be merciful,
just as our God is merciful.
Be merciful,
just as our God is merciful to us.
Let there be a wideness in our mercy.
Let there be a kindness in our hearts.
Oh, may our lives be merciful.
3. For the love of God is broader
Than the measures of the mind;
And the heart of the Eternal
Is most wonderfully kind.
If our love were but more simple,
We would know the living word;
And our lives would be thanksgiving
In the kindness of our Lord.
4. There's a wideness in God's mercy
Like the wideness of the sea;
There's a kindness in God’s jus ce,
Which is more than liberty.
There is plen ful redemp on
In the blood that has been shed;
There is joy for all the members

Christ Has No Body Now But Yours
Refrain
Christ has no body now but yours,
“God is rich in mercy . . .” Ephesians 2:4
no hands but yours.
Here on this earth yours is the work,
to serve with the joy of compassion.
1. No hands but yours
to heal the wounded world,
no hands but yours
to soothe all its suff’ring,
no touch but yours
to bind the broken hope
of the people of God.
2. No eyes but yours
to see as Christ would see,
to find the lost,
to gaze with compassion;
no eyes but yours
to glimpse the holy joy
of the city of God.
3. No feet but yours
to journey with the poor,
to walk this world
with mercy and jus ce.
Yours are the steps
to build a las ng peace
for the children of God.

give back to those in need:
As Christ has blessed,
so now be His blessing,
with ev'ry gi4 a benedic on be

Most of us shy away from the sight of blood and yet we each contain six pints of it in
our body, and would die instantly without it. We read in the New Testament that Jesus
sweated drops of blood in the Garden of Gethsamene, brought on by His intense suffering for our sins. On the cross, His heart was pierced and He emptied Himself to the last
drop to save us from ourselves. During the consecration of each Mass, the wine in the
chalice is transformed into His Most Precious Blood, and then offered for our consumption. Why then is the world not transformed? Perhaps because many of us do not really
believe. Jesus we adore You. Heal our unbelief!
Eternal Father, I offer You the most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, in satisfaction for my sins, in supplication for
the holy souls in Purgatory and for the needs of Holy Church [especially for the soul of (Name)].
Reflection by Anne-Marie d’Abadie Barrilleaux.
Bring the pierced Heart of Jesus into your home through the enthronement of the Sacred Heart. For information
please contact Anne-Marie d'Abadie at 443-2204 or email [email protected] (English), or Lynda Pena at 3384306 (Spanish).
In today’s gospel, Luke 10:25-37, the care and
concern shown by the “Good Samaritan,” exemplify one of the ways we can truly “Love” our
neighbor. A Life Teen author reminds us, ”If we
are to truly show love towards our neighbor, our
acts of charity need to be more than just throwing a few dollars into the collection.” At Life Teen
and Edge we discus ways that we can be “Good
Samaritans” in our families, schools & communities. Come and join us as we strive to be “Good
Samaritans” and imitate Christ.
Couples Day in the Spirit

In July 2015, a beautiful garden Memorial for children who
attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School and/or who worshipped at St. Elizabeth/Divine Mercy was dedicated on our
school grounds. It was gifted by some of our SEAS families in
memory of their children and others who have died. The Memorial is outside the doors of the school office and eventually will be moved to the new school grounds when our new
school is built. You are invited to visit and offer a prayer for
our children any time.
If you or anyone you know would like to add a name to this
Memorial in memory of a young or an adult child who attended SEAS or worshipped in our church community, please feel
free to contact Mary T or Jim deBrueys so that we can help
make that possible. Our number is 225-388-9822 (home

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

asistieron a St. Elizabeth
Ann Seton School y / o
haga posible. Nuestro número es (225)-388-9822 (oficina en

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in
the Blessed Sacrament. I love You
above all
things, and I
long for You in
my soul. Since I
cannot now
receive You
sacramentally,
come at least
spiritually into
my heart. As
though You have already come, I
embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be
separated from You.
Acto de Comunión
Espiritual
Mi Jesús, yo creo que Tú estás en
el Santísimo Sacramento. Yo te
amo por encima de todas
las cosas y yo
Te deseo en mi
alma. Como
ahora no puedo recibirte
sacramentalmente, al menos ven a mi
corazón espiritualmente. Como ya
has venido, Yo te abrazo y me uno
enteramente a Ti. Nunca permitas
que me separe de ti.
