 John I. Smith K‐8 Center PTSA Volunteer Information Sheet How to Become a Registered School Volunteer (Required to participate in all PTSA sponsored activities) ALL volunteers must register on‐line at www.dadeschools.net whether you have been previously cleared or not. To be a volunteer THIS ACADEMIC YEAR, you must register on‐line to be cleared again. You register at the Parent Portal under the tab that says Services/Site, and then click on where it says to be a School Volunteer. Follow the displayed instructions from that point on. For those of you who have never been to the Parent Portal, you must first visit the school main office and ask for your child’s Pin Number. Then go to www.dadeschools.net and click on the tab that says Parents, continue to Parent Portal and create your account. Once you have created your account, you can follow the above instructions. Once you have been cleared, you will be notified at your Parent Portal page at the bottom of the Become a Volunteer section in the message window. This may take a couple of weeks. Once it states that it is pending your JIS, you have been cleared through the county and must now be cleared at the school level. You must go into the main office and present a picture ID. We appreciate your patience during this process which may take up to 2 weeks. Thank you for volunteering. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Instrucciones para ser un Voluntario Escolar (Un requisito para participar en todas la actividades de la PTSA) TODOS los voluntarios tienen que registrarse en el sitio web www.dadeschools.net aun si han sido aprobados o no en años anteriores. Para poder servir como voluntario durante ESTE AÑO ESCOLAR es necesario registrarse de nuevo para ser aprobados. Una vez dentro del Parent Portal, vaya al icono de Services/Site, busque donde dice School Volunteer (voluntario escolar) y siga las instrucciones. Para aquellos que nunca han utilizado el Parent Portal, deben visitar la oficina principal de la escuela y pedir el Numero de Acceso de su hijo(a). Luego ir al sitio del web www.dadeschools.net y entrar al icono que dice Parents, continúe hacia el portal de padres y crear su cuenta utilizando la información que le fue proporcionada por la escuela. Una vez que haya creado su cuenta, seguir las instrucciones del párrafo anterior. Una vez hayan sido aprobados, los padres serán notificados en su propia página del portal, bajo la sección de School Volunteers en la parte debajo de la página encontraran un mensaje. El mensaje dirá que su aprobación está pendiente por JIS, eso quiere decir que ya ha sido aprobado por el condado y que solo falta ser corroborado por la escuela. Los padres deben presentar una tarjeta de identificación con foto a la oficina principal para completar el proceso.
