THE LADIES AUXILIARY will have their monthly Mass
on Sunday, December 6, at 9 AM, followed by a
conference in Notre Dame Hall. We look forward to
seeing you there.
CHRISTMAS WREATHS AND FLOWERS:
We are approaching the beautiful season of
Advent. We have started taking names and
donations for our Altar Flowers and Wreaths,
in memory of loved ones.
All names
submitted before the cut-off date, Friday,
December 18, after the 12:10 Mass, will
appear in our “Christmas Flowers Booklet.” Those names
submitted after the 18th will appear in the Bulletin. You
may make a donation by coming to the Rectory Office and
submitting the names of those you wish to have
remembered in this way. Thank you.
Breakfast with Santa will take place at
OLPHCAB in Notre Dame Hall on
Saturday, December 12, from 9:30 AM to
11:30 AM. Don’t miss this wonderful
school tradition. Tickets are on sale in the
school or the rectory. No tickets sold at the door.
Tuesday, December 8, is the Solemnity of the Immaculate
Conception, Patroness of the United States. This is a holy
day of obligation for all Catholics. The mass schedule will

7:15 PM on 60th Street for the lighting of our
parish Christmas display. We have once again
received a generous donation for Christmas
lights from Maimonides Hospital. We thank
Maimonides Hospital for their generous donation for the
Christmas lights. Please join us for hot chocolate and
cookies after the lighting.
On Friday, December 11, Father John Murray
will teach a Scripture Class on “The 2 infancy
narratives.” We will start promptly at 11 AM
in the sacristy of OLPH Church. Please join us
and bring your Bibles.
On Monday, December 14, our Diocese will
celebrate Advent Reconciliation Monday in the
Year of Mercy. On this day, priests will be
available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation Confessions from 4 PM to 8 PM, in preparation
for the great Feast of the Lord’s Nativity.
The front vestibule of our church will be
repaired and renovated during the next few
weeks. The contract with D'Ambrosio
Church Architects includes masonry work,
painting, the stones, the vaulted ceilings, the
floor, installing new lighting, repair and re-varnishing of
the doors. This project was made possible by the great
generosity of our parishioners and friends who raised the
money in the walkathon. If you were not able to be part of
the walkathon and wish to contribute, please know your
donations will help the continual care of our beautiful
church. We expect the work to be finished before
Christmas.
Once again this year we are collecting new toys,
new clothing and new baby items for the children
of the needy families in our community. Take a
tag from our Giving Tree, purchase the suggested
gift on the back of the tag, bring the gift UNWRAPPED to
the church and place it under the tree. Sister Lucille and
her volunteers will distribute the donated gifts to the needy
children of our parish and Sunset Park. Thank you for
your help.
SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT
The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy of
Brooklyn Student Council has begun a campaign to
promote respect. Every class created a mini RESPECT
chain which was joined together forming one large chain.
On each link students wrote what they think respect
means or how we can show respect to others. Class
activities and discussions are incorporating how we can
be more respectful in school, at home and in our
community. The Student Council will be decorating our
O.L.P.H. C.A.B. Christmas Tree with ornaments including
the message of respect.
Students in grades Kindergarten thru 8th are learning the
message of “It is better to give than to receive." They and
their families have been very generous in donating new
toys to the Marine's Toys 4 Tots Program. Since the drive
was begun by Grade 8, many boxes have been filled to
overflowing with new toys. There will be happy smiles for
children who otherwise might not have had a Merry
Christmas.
Santa Claus is coming to town on December 12th for an
early visit to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic
Academy of Brooklyn. Join us for "Breakfast with Santa"
in Notre Dame Hall from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Tickets are
being sold in the Rectory and in the school office only.
Tickets will not be sold at the door. Great hot breakfast,
fun and SANTA!!!!
Don't miss East Coast Pro Wrestling live from OLPH
Notre Dame Hall on Saturday, December 19th! The
family-friendly action begins at 7:30 PM. The OLPHCAB
Home Academy Association will be selling food and
refreshments with 100% of proceeds going towards the
new HAA Scholarship. Tickets are on sale at the rectory.
OLPH is hosting the AmericanItalian Cancer Foundation’s
(AICF) Mobile Care Clinic to
provide no-cost breast cancer
screenings on Sunday, December 13th from 9 AM – 4:30
PM. Women ages 40 and over who have not had a
mammogram in the past 12 months are welcome. All copays and deductibles are waived and uninsured women are
also welcome. To schedule an appointment, please call 877628-9090.
On Saturday, December 19 at 7:30 PM at Sacred Hearts of
Jesus and Mary & St. Stephen Church, 125 Summit Street,
there will be a performance of Handel’s Messiah (performed
by the Schiller Institute Chorus at the Verdi tuning of A=432
Hz).

ÁRBOL QUE DA: Una vez más este año
estamos recogiendo juguetes nuevos,
ropa nueva y nuevos artículos de bebé
para los hijos de las familias necesitadas
de nuestra comunidad. Tome una
etiqueta de nuestro arbol que da, compre
el regalo sugerido en la parte posterior
de la etiqueta, lleve el regalo SIN SER ENVUELTO a la
iglesia y lo coloca bajo el árbol. La Hermana Lucille y sus
voluntarios distribuirán los regalos donados a los niños
necesitados de nuestra parroquia y Sunset Park. Gracias

La HORA SANTA ante el SANTISIMO
SACRAMENTO, se celebra el día Sábado,
19 de Diciembre, de 2 a 3 PM. Iniciando con
el Santo Rosario por los enfermos a la
1:30 PM, aquí en la Parroquia de Nuestra
Señora del Perpetuo Socorro, iglesia de abajo. TODOS
ESTAN INVITADOS!
El Consejo Estudiantil de la Escuela de Nuestra Señora del
Perpetuo Socorro Academia Católica de Brooklyn ha
comenzado una campaña para promover el respeto. Cada
clase ha creado una mini cadena de RESPETO que después
unieron, formando una gran cadena. En cada eslabón los
estudiantes escribieron lo que piensan que significa respeto o
cómo podemos mostrar respeto a los demás. Las actividades
de clase y discusiones están incorporando cómo podemos ser
más respetuosos en la escuela, en casa y en nuestra
comunidad. El Consejo Estudiantil esta decorando nuestra
Árbol de Navidad con adornos, incluyendo el mensaje respeto.
Los estudiantes en los grados Kindergarten hasta el octavo
están aprendiendo el mensaje de "Es mejor dar que recibir"
Ellos y sus familias han sido muy generosos en donar juguetes
nuevos a Toys Programa Tots para la Marina. El 8vo grado
inicio esta colección, muchas cajas se han llenado de juguetes
nuevos. Habrá sonrisas felices para los niños que de otra
manera no hubieran podido tener una Feliz Navidad.
Santa Claus viene a la ciudad el 12 de Diciembre para una
pronta visita a la Escuela Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo
Socorro Academia Católica de Brooklyn. Únase a nosotros
para "Desayuno con Santa" en el Salón Notre Dame 09:30AM11:30AM. Los boletos se venden en la Rectoría y oficina de la
escuela. Los boletos no se venderán en la puerta. Gran
desayuno caliente, divertido y con SANTA !!!!
Rosario por los enfermos, todos los Martes a las 6:15 PM,
seguido por la Misa con liturgia de las Horas a las 6:45 PM,
concluye con una oración por los enfermos dada por el
sacerdote. En la Iglesia de abajo, OLPH. ¡Todos están
invitados!
El Coro de Niños, invita a todos los interesados al ensayo
los viernes a las 5 PM en el salón San Gerardo, entrada por
la sexta avenida. Durante el mes de Septiembre se
aceptarán nuevos miembros tanto para el coro de niños,
como para el coro de adultos.
La novena de El Nino Inmigrante se realizara a partir del
dia Martes 15 de Diciembre hasta el Miércoles 23 de
Diciembre 2015. Seguido por la santa eucaristía el
Domingo 27 de Diciembre a la 1:30 PM en la iglesia de

La Fundación American-Italian Cancer realizaran
mamografías Sin Costo en OLPH el domingo 13 de
diciembre de 9am-4:30 pm. Toda mujer de 40 años de edad
y más, que viven en la cuidad de NY, y que no sean realizado
una mamografía en los últimos 12 meses son bienvenidas. No
se requiere co-pagos y deducibles no son cobrados. Mujeres
sin seguro médico son bienvenidas. Para una cita por favor
