BEFORE CLEANING MAKE SURE THE LAMP IS
DISCONNECTED FROM THE ELECTRICAL SUPPLY.
The unit requires no special maintenance. If it
becomes heavily soiled it can be wiped with a
dampened cloth containing a mild soap solution. Do
not use large quantities of liquid or spray cleaners as
they may enter the shade housing and affect electrical
safety. Take particular care when cleaning the high
quality XR lens, to avoid scratches use only a soft
cloth dampened with warm soapy water. NEVER USE
AN ABRASIVE CLEANER.
LENS SAFETY
CAUTION: NEVER LEAVE THE LENS UNATTENDED IN
DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR WHERE LIGHT CAN SHINE
THROUGH IT - THIS CONSTITUTES A FIRE HAZARD.
WHEN THE MAGNIFYING LAMP IS NOT IN USE
PLEASE REPLACE THE LENS COVER SUPPLIED
WITH THE LAMP.
CAUTION: THE HEAD OF THE LAMP WILL SPRING
UP ONCE THE LENS HAS BEEN REMOVED. TO
AVOID DAMAGE OR INJURY SUPPORT THE HEAD
WITH YOUR HAND AND ALLOW IT TO RISE GENTLY.

CAUTION: ONCE THE LENS RETAINING RING HAS
BEEN REMOVED THE LENS WILL FALL FROM THE
HEAD IF IT IS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN. THE HEAD
MUST REMAIN IN A HORIZONTAL POSITION.

will fit in a polarised outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug and try

This product is guaranteed against mechanical and electrical defects for 24 months from the date of
purchase. During this guarantee period, DaylightTM will repair or replace the product free of charge
provided the fault was not caused by normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse or by any
modifications made by the purchaser. This warranty does not cover consumables such as bulbs, tubes
or batteries. Faulty products should be returned to the place of purchase. Returns damaged by poor
packaging are the responsibility of the sender. You will be required to enclose proof and date of
purchase. Please quote the model number of the product in all correspondence. This guarantee does not

HOW TO TIGHTEN THE HEAD JOINT
In normal use the head joint does not require any
adjustment as it holds the head in any position.
If the head does not hold position it will require
tightening. THIS IS NOT A FAULT AS AFTER
EXTENDED USE THE JOINT MAY NEED
ADJUSTMENT.
To do this proceed as follows:
1. Unscrew Protective Cap
by hand.
2. Using the supplied 13mm spanner
SLOWLY tighten the nut in SMALL increments until
the head holds position.
3. CAUTION: DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THE NUT AS
THIS WILL MAKE THE HEAD DIFFICULT TO MOVE
AND MAY DAMAGE THE HEAD AND ARM.

SET UP AND OPERATION
1. Before use remove all packaging from around the
lamp.
CAUTION: THE SPRINGS IN THE ARM ARE VERY
STRONG, GRIP THE ARM WITH BOTH HANDS
AND OPEN SLOWLY TO AVOID DAMAGE OR
INJURY.
2. Securely fasten the supplied clamp onto the edge of
a table or workbench.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that the clamp is
secure BEFORE attaching the lamp. If the supplied
clamp does not meet your exact requirements there
is an optional Table Base (D52060) or Floorstand
(D53060) available from your local stockist.
3. Once the clamp is secure insert the stem of the
lamp arm into the hole in the clamp.
4. Insert the plug into a conveniently located electrical
socket - the lamp is now ready for use.
5. Switch on using the On/Off switch located on the
head of the lamp
6. CAUTION: DO NOT FORCE THE HEAD PAST ITS
MOVEMENT LIMITS AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE
LAMP AND INVALIDATE YOUR GUARANTEE.

Instructions for fitting these are supplied with the
optional lens.
REPLACING THE DAYLIGHTTM TUBE
The lamp uses a modern, high efficiency ballast – this
type of ballast does not require a starter. It the tube
flickers or fails to light it is likely that it requires
replacing. Please follow the procedure detailed below.
1. Always switch off, remove the plug from the mains
supply and allow the lamp to cool before changing
the tube.

2. The lamp is supplied with a Daylight 28w/T5
Circular Tube with a G10q cap. Replacements can
be obtained from your local stockist. The code no.
for the tube is U12000.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE ONLY TUBE THAT
SHOULD BE FITTED TO THE LAMP. THE
DAYLIGHTTM 28W/T5 CIRCULAR TUBE HAS BEEN
DEVELOPED SPECIFICALLY FOR IT. DO NOT USE
OTHER MAKES OF TUBE OR TUBES THAT ARE A
DIFFERENT SIZE OR WATTAGE. TO DO SO
COULD DAMAGE YOUR LAMP AND INVALIDATE
YOUR WARRANTY.
REMOVING THE MAIN LENS
3. Remove the lamp from its clamp or base and place
it on a table with the tube and diffuser uppermost.
A soft cloth should be placed on the table to
protect it and the lamp head. Using a suitable
screwdriver remove four small screws
which
secure the diffuser to the head of the lamp.
If you want to remove the main lens proceed as
follows:
4. Remove the diffuser and place safely to one side,
take care not to lose the small screws.
1. Set the lamp head in a horizontal position.
5. Gently pull the tube off the 4-pin connector. The
old tube should not be disposed of with household
waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check
with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling
advice in your country.
2. Release the two clips on the Lens Retaining Ring
and unhook it from the lamp.
3. Lift the lens from the head by pushing it from the
underside. CAUTION: THE HEAD WILL SPRING UP
ONCE THE WEIGHT OF THE LENS HAS BEEN
REMOVED.
4. Refitting is the reverse procedure. Ensure that the
Lens Retaining Ring is hooked into the rear of the
head and securely clipped at the front.
OPTIONAL LENSES (Available Separately)
The lamp is supplied with a 7” diameter, 1.75X
(3 Diopter) Main Lens. Other lenses available from your
local stockist are:

6. Gently push the new tube back on to the 4-pin
connector ensuring it is pushed on fully. (It will only
go on one way). Check that the tube sits on the
four rubber supports inside the head. Refit the
diffuser and tighten the four screws.
7. Your lamp is ready for use again.

1. Antes de su utilización, retire todo el embalaje que
rodea la lámpara.
PRECAUCIÓN: LOS MUELLES DEL BRAZO SON
MUY FUERTES; AGARRE EL BRAZO CON LAS
DOS MANOS Y ÁBRALO LENTAMENTE PARA
EVITAR DAÑOS O LESIONES.
2. Apriete la abrazadera que se proporciona sobre el
borde de una mesa o banco de trabajo.
ATENCIÓN: es muy importante que la abrazadera
esté bien sujeta ANTES de acoplar la lámpara. Si la
abrazadera suministrada no se ajusta a sus
requisitos hay una Base de mesa (U52060) o un
Pedestal (U53060) opcionales disponibles en su
proveedor.
3. Cuando haya sujetado la abrazadera, introduzca el
vástago de la lámpara en el orificio de la
abrazadera.
4. Introduzca el enchufe en una toma de corriente
eléctrica situada a la distancia adecuada. La
lámpara ya está lista para el uso.
5. Enciéndala utilizando el interruptor On/Off situado
en el cabezal de la lámpara
6. PRECAUCIÓN: NO FUERCE EL CABEZAL MÁS
ALLÁ DE SUS LÍMITES DE MOVIMIENTO YA QUE
ESTO DAÑARÁ LA LÁMPARA E INVALIDARÁ LA
GARANTÍA.
CÓMO QUITAR LA LENTE PRINCIPAL
Si desea quitar la lente principal proceda de la
siguiente manera:
1. Coloque el cabezal de la lámpara en posición
horizontal.
2. Suelte los dos clips del anillo retenedor de la lente
y descuélguela de la lámpara.
3. Levante la lente del cabezal empujándola desde
abajo. PRECAUCIÓN: AL QUITAR EL PESO DE LA
LENTE EL CABEZAL SALTARÁ HACIA ARRIBA.
4. Para colocarla siga el procedimiento contrario.
Asegúrese de que el anillo retenedor de la lente
está colgado en la parte posterior del cabezal y
enganchado firmemente en el frente.
Se suministran instrucciones por separado para las
lentes opcionales.
SEGURIDAD ELÉCTRICA
6. Empuje con cuidado el tubo nuevo en el conector
de 4 patillas asegurándose de empujarlo al máximo.
(Solo tiene una posición).
Compruebe que el tubo se asienta sobre los cuatro
soportes de goma del interior del cabezal. Vuelva a
colocar el difusor y apriete los cuatro tornillos.
7. Su lámpara ya está de nuevo lista para el uso.
LIMPIEZA
ANTES DE SU LIMPIEZA, ASEGÚRESE DE QUE LA
UNIDAD ESTÉ DESCONECTADA DE LA
ALIMENTACIÓN ELÉCTRICA.
REEMPLAZO DEL TUBO DAYLIGHTTM
La lámpara emplea una reactancia moderna de alto
rendimiento. Este tipo de reactancia no requiere
cebador. Si el tubo parpadea o no se enciende,
deberá cambiarse. Siga el procedimiento que se
describe a continuación.
1. Apague siempre la lámpara, quite el enchufe de la
red eléctrica y deje que la lámpara se enfríe antes
de cambiar el tubo.
2. La lámpara se entrega con un tubo circular
DaylightTM de 28 W/T5 con casquillo G10q. Puede
adquirir tubos de repuesto en su proveedor local.
El número de código del tubo es U12000.
ATENCIÓN: ÉSTE ES EL ÚNICO TUBO QUE
DEBERÁ INSTALARSE EN LA LÁMPARA. EL TUBO
CIRCULAR DAYLIGHTTM 28 W/T5 HA SIDO
DISEÑADO ESPECÍFICAMENTE PARA ELLA. NO
UTILICE TUBOS DE OTRAS MARCAS NI TUBOS
DE TAMAÑOS O POTENCIA DIFERENTES YA QUE
PODRÍA DAÑAR LA LÁMPARA E INVALIDAR LA
GARANTÍA.
3. Saque la lámpara de su abrazadera o base y
pósela sobre una mesa con el tubo y el difusor
hacia arriba. Coloque un paño suave sobre la
mesa para proteger el cabezal de la lámpara. Con
un destornillador retire los cuatro tornillos
pequeños
que fijan el difusor al cabezal de la
lámpara.
4. Retire el difusor y colóquelo con cuidado a un lado,
tenga cuidado de no soltar los pequeños tornillos.
5. Tire suavemente del tubo hacia afuera del conector
de 4 patillas. No se puede tirar el tubo viejo con
los desechos domésticos. Recíclelo si tiene la
posibilidad. Consulte con las autoridades locales o
con su distribuidor para obtener información sobre
el reciclado en su país.
La unidad no requiere ningún mantenimiento especial.
Si está muy sucia, se puede limpiar con un paño
humedecido con una solución jabonosa suave. No
utilice demasiada cantidad de limpiadores líquidos o
pulverizados, ya que esto puede afectar a la seguridad
eléctrica.
Tenga un especial cuidado cuando limpie la lente XR
de alta calidad, para evitar arañazos utilice sólo un
paño suave humedecido con agua tibia con jabón. NO
EMPLEE NUNCA LIMPIADORES ABRASIVOS.
SEGURIDAD DE LA LENTE
PRECAUCIÓN: NO DEJE NUNCA LA LENTE
EXPUESTA A LA LUZ SOLAR DIRECTA SIN
SUPERVISIÓN, NI EN UN LUGAR EN QUE LA LUZ
PUEDA ATRAVESAR LA LENTE. EXISTE RIESGO DE
INCENDIO. CUANDO NO ESTÉ UTILIZANDO LA LUPA
CÚBRALA CON LA FUNDA QUE SE SUMINISTRA
CON LA LÁMPARA.
PRECAUCIÓN: AL QUITAR LA LENTE EL CABEZAL
DE LA LÁMPARA SE LEVANTARÁ. PARA EVITAR
DAÑOS O LESIONES, SUJETE EL CABEZAL CON LA
MANO Y DEJE QUE VAYA SUBIENDO LENTAMENTE.
PRECAUCIÓN: NO PERMITA QUE LA LENTE XR
ENTRE EN CONTACTO CON OBJETOS METÁLICOS
AFILADOS, YA QUE ESTOS PODRÍAN ALTERAR LA
PRECISIÓN DE LA SUPERFICIE ÓPTICA
PRECAUCIÓN: CUANDO EL ANILLO RETENEDOR SE
HAYA QUITADO SE CAERÁ LA LENTE DEL CABEZAL
SI SE LE DA LA VUELTA. EL CABEZAL DEBE
PERMANECER EN POSICIÓN HORIZONTAL.
PRECAUCIÓN: AL AJUSTAR LA LÁMPARA TENGA LA
PRECAUCIÓN DE NO ENREDAR EL CABLE
ELÉCTRICO ALREDEDOR DE LA ABRAZADERA O EL
VÁSTAGO.
PRECAUCIÓN: Esta lámpara portátil lleva un enchufe
polarizado (UNA PATA ES MÁS ANCHA QUE LA OTRA)
como característica para reducir el riesgo de descarga
eléctrica. Este enchufe sólo se puede conectar a una
toma polarizada en un sentido. Si el enchufe no encaja
del todo en la toma, déle la vuelta e inténtelo en el otro
sentido. Si sigue sin encajar, consulte con un
electricista cualificado.
NO UTILICE NUNCA LA LÁMPARA CON UN CABLE
ALARGADOR SI NO SE PUEDE INTRODUCIR
COMPLETAMENTE EL ENCHUFE.
NO MANIPULE NI ALTERE EL ENCHUFE.
NO INTENTE UTILIZAR LA LÁMPARA EN UN
CIRCUITO REGULADOR DE VOLTAJE.
PRECAUCIÓN: Si se daña el cable flexible externo de
la luminaria, sólo debe sustituirlo una persona
capacitada a fin de evitar riesgos.
EN CASO DE DUDA, CONSULTE CON UN
ELECTRICISTA CUALIFICADO.
CÓMO APRETAR LA ARTICULACIÓN DEL CABEZAL
Durante el uso normal, la articulación del cabezal no
precisa ningún ajuste, ya que sostiene el cabezal en
cualquier posición. Si el cabezal no mantiene su
posición, será necesario ajustarla. ESTO NO ES UN
FALLO; DESPUÉS DE UN USO PROLONGADO
PUEDE SER NECESARIO AJUSTAR LA
ARTICULACIÓN. Para ello proceda del siguiente modo:
1. Desenrosque con la mano la Tapa Protectora
2. Con ayuda de la llave de 13 mm suministrada
apriete DESPACIO la tuerca a intervalos PEQUEÑOS
hasta que el cabezal mantenga su posición.
3. PRECAUCIÓN: NO APRIETE LA TUERCA EN
EXCESO, PUES ESTO DIFICULTARÍA EL MOVIMIENTO
DEL CABEZAL Y PODRÍA DAÑAR EL CABEZAL Y EL
BRAZO.
4. Vuelva a colocar la Tapa Protectora.
