YEAR OF MERCY
AÑO DE LA MISERICORDIA
As we enter into the New Year and the second
month of the Year of Mercy, we are asked to embrace the words of Jesus, “When I was a stranger
you welcomed me; when I was naked you clothed
me.”
Mientras entramos en el Ano Nuevo y el Segundo
mes del Ano de Misericordia, el Papa Francisco nos
pide acoger las palabras de Jesús, “Fui forastero, y
me dieron alojamiento; necesité ropa y me vistieron.”
How can you practice this Mercy in your life? One
local opportunity is thru the Good Samarian Mission
which has been caring for the hungry, hurting, and
homeless in our community since 1970. The Mission’s on-going Coat-Drive continues into January.
They seek new or gently used adult winter coats,
hats, and gloves to distribute to the needy in our
community. During the month of January, you will
find a Coat Donation box in the Gathering Area right
here at Our Lady of the Mountains. Please search
your heart (and your closet) and help clothe the
needy in our community. The Good Samarian Mission also needs new men’s underclothes (boxers or
briefs). You can also place these items in the donation box in the Gathering Area.
¿Cómo podrías practicar esta misericordia en tu vida? Una oportunidad cercana es a través de la Misión del Buen Samaritano que ha estado cuidando de
los hambrientos, los que sufren y los sin casa en

Group helps with tasks both at the Mission and at
various fundraising events. This volunteer opportunity can be just a one-time commitment or an ongoing ministry. We would like to build up a list of
volunteers from our Catholic community that would
be willing to help at the Mission now and then. If
you would like to volunteer or would just like some

parish who have any part in our liturgies. This service to our parish allows many individuals to participate in our Sunday Masses and week-day Masses.

Lord!
