ANNIVERSARY IN 2015
Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory, would like to
honor couples married in 1965 and 1955 with an
invitation to a Golden/Diamond Wedding
Anniversary Mass on Saturday, October 3rd at
noon at St. Brigid Catholic Church. A reception
will follow the Mass for the Anniversary couples
and their families. Space is limited. Please go to

BAPTISM CLASS
Parents must be registered
members of St. Catherine’s and
attend the Baptism class prior to
scheduling a baptism. At least one
parent must attend.
Preregistration for the class is required
as space is limited. The next baptism class will be on
Saturday, August 8th at 9AM in room 316/317.
Please contact the church office at (770) 428-7139 to
register. Upon completion of this class, contact the
church office to officially schedule a baptism. We offer
baptisms only on the 4th Saturday of each month. All
required paper work must be completed before
a baptism date can be set.
PERPETUAL
ADORATION
Join Perpetual Adoration and
spend an hour in the presence
of Jesus Christ. Jesus must not
be left alone. There is an
entrance code. (Call for more
information). Hours in most need of committed Adorers.

STEWARDSHIP
In today’s readings, those
called to do God’s work
find it difficult to complete
their mission. God commands the prophet Amos, in spite
of the priest Amaziah’s opposition, to prophesy to the
people of Israel. In St. Mark’s Gospel, Jesus commissions
the Apostles to go out and preach repentance, heal the
sick, and drive out demons. He warns them that they,
too, will encounter resistance and even rejection. St. Paul
reminds us of the strength we have in Christ’s blessings.
As Christian stewards, we know discipleship comes at a
cost. Our efforts to do God’s will may be resisted or
rejected. However, we are encouraged and strengthened
by the gift of the Lord’s grace to carry out the work He
calls us to do.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Spend a half hour volunteering before and
after Mass in the Church Gift Shop. It is a
great way to meet parishioners and see
old friends. We will train you to run the
shop and all the workings of it. You’ll
have the opportunity to see the new items that come in
first. If interested please stop in before or after Mass or

CATECHISTS NEEDED
Serving as a Confirmation Catechist is
a great way to dive deeper into the
teachings of the Church, as well as
investing in our Catholic youth. Your
faith with be strengthened as you lead
others closer to Christ and prepare them for the
Sacrament of Confirmation.
Year 1 (9th grade): Each 9th grade class has a Teacher
and an Assistant Teacher that helps facilitate lessons for
20-25 students in each class. Lesson planning books and
resources are given to help with planning each lesson.
Participating in a Day of Reflection Saturday Retreat.
Training is provided.
Year 2 (10th grade): We will be putting together small
groups of 8-10 teenagers that will meet in Herbert Hall for
large group catechesis and small group breakout. We need
consistent small group leaders for the teens throughout
the year that are committed to getting to know them and
walking with them in faith. Participation in one of the
Confirmation Overnight Retreats. Training is provided.

PRAYER BLANKETS
Do you have a family member or
friend that is ill and in need of a
loving touch? We are very blessed
to have a prayer blanket program,
sponsored by the Columbiettes,
that has brought comfort to so
many people around the world. This program is available
for anyone to request a blanket to give or send to a
loved one in need. These blankets were made with love
by the Columbiettes and have been prayed over and
blessed. We will continue to pray for the recipients of
the blankets. Donations of fabric (1 yard + of quilting /
cotton material) is always greatly appreciated. These
donations allow us to keep up with the demands of this
wonderful program. If you would like a blanket or would

Bautizos: La próxima clase será el Sábado 8 de Agosto
a las 10:30 a.m. Padres y padrinos deben asistir a la
clase pre-bautismal. Se requiere el acta de nacimiento del
niño (a) que va a recibir el bautismo. Note: No se pueden

RETIRO DE EVANGELIZACION
En el retiro se la da mucha importancia a la renovación de
las promesas bautismales a través de la acción del Espíritu
Santo, para que puedan reintegrarse a la iglesia como
miembros activos.
Una vez finalizado el retiro se inicia un proceso de
conocimiento ordenado y progresivo de nuestra fe
católica. Para esto se organizan pequeñas comunidades a
las que se les invita a seguir el ejemplo de vida de la
primera comunidad cristiana tal como lo describe la Biblia
en Hechos 2, 42.
Estos retiros se celebran durante el año, cuya duración
es de lunes a viernes de 7 pm a 9 pm y el fin de semana
es todo el día. El Próximo Retiro es del 31 de Agosto al

RITO DE INICIACIÓN
CRISTIANA PARA
ADULTOS (RCIA / RICA)
El Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos (RICA) es para todos
los que quieren conocer más acerca de la Fe Católica.
Participantes son aquellos que no están bautizados o aquellos
que han sido bautizados en la Fe Católica o en otra
Denominación Cristiana pero que no han recibido la Primera

SE NECESITAN CATEQUISTAS
Servir como catequista de
Confirmación es una gran manera de
sumergirse profundamente en las
enseñanzas de la Iglesia, así como
ayudar a nuestra juventud católica. Su
fe y fortaleza es una guía para prepararlos para el
Sacramento de la Confirmación. Año 1 (noveno
grado): Cada clase de noveno grado tiene un maestro
y un profesor asistente que ayuda a facilitar lecciones
para 20-25 alumnos en cada clase. Libros y recursos de
planificación de lecciones se dan para ayudar con la
planificación de cada lección. Participar en una Jornada
de Reflexión un Sábado día de Retiro para el cual se
proporciona el entrenamiento. Año 2 (décimo
grado): Vamos a poner a grupos pequeños de 8 a 10
adolescentes que se reunirán en Herbert Hall,
necesitamos líderes de pequeños grupos. También la
participación en uno de los retiros de confirmación
durante la noche. Se proporcionara el entrenamiento
