MARM
FIAB (The Spanish Federation of Food and
Beverage Industries) is an umbrella organization
of most of the food and beverage associations
and more than 8000 manufacturing companies
in Spain. Its basic function consists of informing
its members about events and developments
which are relevant to the sector. FIAB also
represents the interests of its members in
discussions with administrative and decisionmaking bodies on national, European and
international levels. Accordingly, its activities
are focused on the following areas: economy,
fiscal policy, research and development, labour
affairs, food legislation, promotion of foreign
trade, training, environment and communication.
In particular, the promotion of foreign trade is
effected through supporting Spanish companies
and their products in events like trade fairs, show
rooms, business meetings, etc. in order to build
up and enhance the Spanish image abroad.
The Ministry of the Environment and Rural and
Marine Affairs is the department in charge of
proposing and executing government policy in
terms of the struggle against climatic change
and the protection of the environment, its natural
resources and biodiversity as well as its marine
life, water resources, rural development,
agricultural resources, and the cattle, fish and
food industries.
The high quality and unique taste of Spanish
products have fostered its exports to more than
80 countries, leading in 2008, to an export value
of ¤20 billion and maintaining its positive trade
balance worldwide.
To this effect, it assumes the responsibilities
erstwhile attributed to the Ministry of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Ministry
of the Environment as well as the policies
developed so far by the Ministry of Public Works
with regard to marine protection.
ICEX
ICEX (The Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade)
provides Spanish businesses with assistance
aimed at promoting and supporting their
international presence. To do this it has its own
financial, material and human resources,
operating in the following areas:
•Compiling and publicizing information on
Spanish goods and services as well as
international markets.
•Promoting technical business skills within the
company and training business professionals in
foreign trade.
•Designing and implementing promotional
business programs on foreign markets.
•Promoting business investment, implementation
and partnership projects on foreign markets.
To achieve its goals efficiently, ICEX operates
abroad through the network of Spanish Embassy
Offices for Economic and Commercial Affairs

Daabio, a new organic food distribution company, was created by
four organic producers from Cordoba (in Andalucía, Spain) with a

Jamón de Trevélez is located in the town of Trevélez, in Granada.
We have been exporting our Serrano hams to countries in the
European Union as well as to Russia, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong,
etc. since 1998. Today we are present in important gourmet
distribution centers such as Laffayette Gourmet (Paris), Globus
(Suiza), Azbuka Bkusa (Moscú), Takashimaya (Japón), etc.
Jamón de Trevélez has the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI)
status defined by European Union Law to protect the name and
reputation of regional foods. We have had this certification since
2005 and it guarantees that our Serrano hams are:
- Artisan hams with a long and natural curing process (20-24
months) in the Sierra Nevada Nature Reserve (1750 m. altitude).
- Free of artificial coloring and preservatives, using only sea salt.
- Low in salt (less than 5%) which is one of the lowest in the market,
giving the ham its characteristic sweet flavor.
- Under the supervision of the Consejo Regulador (Regulatory
Council) of Trevélez that guarantees the quality of our products.
- With 100% traceability.
