Our mission is to pray and worship, teach and share Christ’s saving message as we evangelize, build up, and nurture communities of faith; serving in Christ’s name as we journey with each other to the fullness of eternal life. Address & Phone Number Updates If your address or phone number has changed, please update your information with the church office. We are having too many letters and envelopes returning to the parish office due to insufficient addresses. When we attempt to call the phone numbers we have on file, the numbers are either disconnected or changed, making it difficult for us to update information. If you have been receiving offering envelopes but have not received any in a while, it may be due to your mail returning undeliverable. This is beginning to be costly, as we are charged every time an item is returned. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We will accept your bottle until they all are in. Please give your bottle to any Usher. God bless you. The response of discipleship to following Christ’s call always involves stewardship, for we discover that our response brings many gifts to us. The gifts given are gifts to be shared, in time, talent and resources. When you give of your recourses for DSF, you are answering the call of discipleship in a most concrete and effective way that benefits the common good of the whole Archdiocese. Throughout the Archdiocese, we are at 89% of our goal in DSF pledges. Unfortunately, here at the parish level, we are only at 42% of our $41,000.00 goal set by the Archdiocese. If you have made a pledge and paid it we are truly grateful for your generosity. If you have made a pledge and have not made any payments, we ask that you please consider using your purple DSF envelope to begin fulfilling your pledge. If you have not made a pledge, you can still do so. Please obtain a DSF envelope from one of the ushers and drop your pledge in the collection or mail it directly to the Archdiocese. Please remember that a pledge is no good if it’s not paid. Thank you for your continued support. ST. Often when we hear this story, we think about who among us is the rocky ground, or whether the seed has fallen on the path or among the thorns in our own lives. But it may be that the Gospel today is about God’s lavish generosity— the seed of God’s word is flung everywhere, and it takes root in unexpected places, and bears fruit far beyond usual expectations. Isaiah says as much when he says God’s word will not return void. Let us make our hearts ready to receive the abundant and fertile word of God. Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go to the Peugh family on the death of their beloved Ronald. May his soul rest in peace. Please continue to pray for the sick. God bless you today and everyday. Fr. John Ayang, SOLT Sunday Spiritual Thoughts: Today, Jesus presents the parable of the Sower and the Seed; He explains to his disciples that faith does not take root in person with hardened heart and unwilling mind to believe. Faith should be nurtured with prayer to grow to a shroud; it should be supplied with sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Trials and difficulties will come along with faith, but a true faith shall make the disciple of Christ steadfast and sober, alert and holy, for faith is a grace guaranteed by Jesus Christ himself to transform his disciple into Christ himself, the seed-word-made-flesh. Fr. Lauro Bejo, S.O.L.T. Parochial Vicar Stewardship Reflection The Good Samaritan was also a good steward, giving his time and his treasure to meet his neighbor’s need. At the end of this familiar story, Jesus urges His hearers—and us—to go and do the same! Sick and Homebound Parishioners, if you know of anyone sick at home or in the hospital, contact Fr. John. Please leave: the person’s name, phone number, home address or name of hospital. Expenses Collections Week ending: July 5, 2014 Collections 2014 2013 will be reported next wk. Padre Lauro Bejo, S.O.L.T. NEW TIMEWISE REPAIR The most advanced Age-Fighting Skin Care From Mary Kay Is Here!
