The Knights of Columbus
are bringing back the wonderful Quick Wits improv
comedy group for another
show Saturday, July 18th in
the parish hall. Last February's show was so popular
and did so well raising
funds for the building fund.
Tickets are $5 each and $20 for a family and are available after Mass and by

PREREGISTRATION FOR SECOND
YEAR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
AT SAINT THERESE CHURCH
Students of religious education that have
attended the first (1st) year of religious education through the period of 2014 and 2015
to receive a sacrament (First Holy Communion or Confirmation) are encouraged to
preregister.
Preregistration will be on Saturday, 11 and
Sunday, 12 July 2015 from 9:00-11:00 AM
and 2:00-4:00 PM at the Culleton Hall.
Please keep in mind that your child had to
have been attending and completed the
first year of religious education through the
period of 2014/2015 to be eligible to attend
2015/2016 second year of religious education.
The child must attend two consecutive
years of religious education to receive a
sacrament.
In the second collection today, we are supporting
Pope Francis in his charitable works. The Peter’s
Pence Collection is taken up worldwide to support
the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disasters. This is an opportunity
to join with our Holy Father, Pope Francis, and be
a witness of charity to our suffering brothers and
sisters. Please be generous in today’s collection.

Do Catholics know how to party?
The answer is a big ‘YES’. We do not only celebrate feasts in one
day, but we also have celebrations that last for a week, or a month,
or even months. We celebrate Easter and Christmas in what we
call the Octave, that is, 8 days. And we celebrate some others devotional traditions like last month, the month of Mary, where we
offer and crown our Lady with flowers for the entire month. This
celebration of our Lady coincides with Mother’s day, which is just
appropriate because Mary is our mother.
This June also, we celebrate the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. That is why the image of the Sacred Heart is placed in our
sanctuary to mark the occasion.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is associated with the First Friday devotion which is a part of the 12 promises that Jesus gave to St Margaret of Mary when He appeared to her. The Sacred Heart of Jesus
gives us a clear and deep understanding of God’s love for us. God
created us out of love and He became one of us to save us out of
love. And love is ultimately proven by suffering as Jesus proved to
us when he died for us on the cross. In the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
we see his heart on fire symbolizing the burning of God’s love for
us, and with a cross to signify the suffering that Jesus had to undertake to prove his love for us.
When Jesus appeared to St Margaret of Mary, He gave these
promises to her as part of the devotion to His Sacred Heart:
(1) "I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
(2) I will establish peace in their homes.
(3) I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
(4) I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death.
(5) I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
(6) Sinners will find in my Heart the source and Infinite Ocean of
mercy.
(7) Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
(8) Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
(9) I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored.
10) I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened
hearts.
(11) Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names
written in my Heart.
(12) (12) I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my
all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the
grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace,
nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall
be their safe refuge in this last moment."

Mensage del Parroco
¿Los católicos saben cómo divertirse?
La respuesta es un gran 'sí'. No sólo celebrar fiestas en un día,
pero también tenemos celebraciones que duran una semana, o un
mes, o incluso meses. Celebramos la Pascua y la Navidad en lo
que llamamos la octava, es decir, 8 días. Y celebramos algunas
otras tradiciones devocionales como el mes pasado, el mes de
María, donde le ofrecemos y coronamos la Virgen con flores para
todo el mes. Esta celebración de la Virgen coincide con el día de la
Madre, que es sólo apropiado porque María es nuestra madre.
Este mes de junio también, celebramos el mes del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Por eso la imagen del Sagrado Corazón se coloca
en nuestro santuario para celebrar la ocasión.
El Sagrado Corazón de Jesús se asocia con la devoción primer
viernes que es una parte de las 12 promesas que Jesús le dio a
Santa Margarita de María cuando se apareció a ella. El Sagrado
Corazón de Jesús nos da una comprensión clara y profunda del
amor de Dios por nosotros. Dios nos creó por amor y Él hizo uno
de nosotros para salvarnos por amor. Y el amor se demuestra en
última instancia, por el sufrimiento que Jesús nos demostró cuando
murió por nosotros en la cruz. En el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús,
vemos su corazón en el fuego simboliza la quema de amor de Dios
por nosotros, y con una cruz para significar el sufrimiento que Jesús tuvo que llevar a cabo para demostrar su amor por nosotros.
Cuando Jesús se apareció a Santa Margarita de María, dio estas
promesas a ella como parte de la devoción a su Sagrado Corazón:
(1) "Yo les daré todas las gracias necesarias a su estado de vida.
(2) Estableceré la paz en sus hogares.
(3) Los consolaré en todas sus aflicciones.
(4) Seré su refugio seguro durante la vida, y sobre todo, en la
muerte.
(5) voy a conceder abundantes bendiciones sobre todas sus empresas.
(6) Los pecadores encontrarán en mi Corazón la fuente y el océano
infinito de la misericordia.
(7) Las almas tibias se harán fervorosas.
(8) Las almas fervorosas alcanzarán mayor perfección.
(9) Bendeciré cada lugar en el que la imagen de mi Corazón está
expuesto y honrado.
10) Daré a los sacerdotes el don de tocar los corazones más endurecidos.
(11) Los que propaguen esta devoción tendrán su nombre escrito
en mi Corazón.
(12) Yo te prometo, en la excesiva misericordia de mi Corazón, que
mi amor todopoderoso concederá a todos aquellos que reciban la
