PASTOR’S
MESSAGE
PASTOR’S
MESSAGE
3 3
What a joy and gift from our heavenly Father to the family of Ss Peter and Paul for our children and
youth who are receiving the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation. At the time of the
First Communion the Lord comes to the inner of our souls to transform us to be like Him, this transformation includes the family of the child who joins in receiving the Eucharist. What a beautiful sign
when the whole family receives communion during the Mass. For those who receive the Sacrament
of Confirmation last Friday at St. Joseph the Worker, they are called to be witnesses of Christ’s resurrection. In the same way that there was a transformation in the life of the apostles at Pentecost, also
there will be a transformation in the life of these young men and women who received this sacrament, especially if
they open their heart and accept Jesus to be their teacher and Master as the apostles did. Many blessings to all children
and youth, to their families and those who prepare our children for these great sacraments. May we all continue to
grow in love an devotion to the Holy Mass.
Fr. Mariano Varela, IVE

A Confirmation
Prayer
O Holy spirit of God;
Take me as Your disciple.
Guide me, illuminate me,
Sanctify me.
Bind my hands,
That they may do no evil.
Cover my eyes,
That they may see it no
more.
Sanctify my heart,
That evil may not dwell
within me.
You are my God.
You are my guide.
Whatsoever You forbid me,
I will renounce.
And whatsoever You
commend me,
In Your strength I will do.
Lead me then
Unto the fullness of Your
truth.
Amen.

In Our Generosity

For Graduating High School Students
and Their Parents
Students, stay Connected with your Catholic Faith when
you go off to College. The NEWMAN CONNECTION
High School Outreach Program helps you connect with
your local Catholic College Campus Ministry. When
students are entered into the NEWMAN CONNECTION
database, their information will automatically be sent to
the local Catholic Campus Ministry (Newman Center or
local Catholic Parish’s college youth group when there is
not a Newman Center on Campus). The Campus Minister can then contact the student to invite them to their
activities on Campus. The NEWMAN CONNECTION
has been a great help in keeping our students connected
to their Catholic Faith during their College years.
If you are a graduating High School Student or parent
thereof, please stay connected to your Catholic campus
ministry by contacting Frank Brandt at 507-327-8889 or
[email protected] with the student’s name and choice
of College /University (with location) that they will be
attending this fall. The NEWMAN CONNECTION is a
service of the local Serra Club.

Celebremos, invitando a nuestras fiestas a María, nuestra
por igual; era servicial, atendía a José y a Jesús con amor;
