THE PASTOR'S PERSPECTIVE
"In the zone for a loan"
To keep everyone up-to-date on the progress of the new parish campus, I have been told by the Diocesan office of finances that our loan
application will be reviewed (for the 2nd time) this Wednesday December 14th by the Strategic Planning Department. This department manages diocesan finances by looking at the short-term and long-term
budget for the Phoenix diocese. Our request for a $1.3 million dollar
loan will require the diocese to essentially give us money that belongs
to other parishes. They must be assured that these other parishes will
get their money back in due time. We are putting everything "on the
table" and awaiting their decision. St. Henry, pray for us. Wouldn't be a
bad idea for us to do the same. – Fr. kosco
A Christmas Gift for Our Local Sisters
We are preparing a Christmas basket for the Poor Clare nuns of Perpetual Adoration who are living in their Tonopah monastery. A drop-off
box will be available after Masses and at the office.
The St. Henry Women of Solitude will do the gift wrapping and delivery.
Consider the following: a case of bottled water, postage stamps, paper
towels, cough drops, laundry detergent, toothpaste and dental floss, a
pack of greeting/thank you cards, gift cards to grocery, department,
hardware stores, & gas stations, etc., or whatever you think they would
need/use/appreciate. We’ll put them all in a gift basket, leave it on their
doorstep, ring the bell and run like . . . elves.
4th - 8th Grade Confirmation
Do you have a child aged 10-13 who has not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation or First Communion? Confirmation preparation
for students in 4th - 8th grade begins Tuesday, January 10th at 7:00pm.
These classes are for PARENTS ONLY. There are no classes for children. Parents will take the responsibility to pass along the information
learned at the Tuesday classes and the students will be confirmed May
2012 after successfully passing an exam on the Catholic faith. To attend, your family MUST be registered parishioners of St. Henry Catholic Church. There is absolutely NO FEE for the classes.

Confirmacion Para Niños de 4to - 8vo Grado Escolar
¿Tiene niños de 10-13 años que no han recibido el sacramento de confirmación o primera comunión? La preparación para estudiantes del 4 to - 8vo grado
comienza el lunes 9 de enero a las 7:00p.m. Estas clases son para los
PADRES SOLAMENTE. No hay clases para los niños. Los padres tendrán la
responsabilidad de pasarles la información aprendida en las clases de los
lunes. Los niños se confirmaran en mayo 2012 después de haber logrado
pasar el examen sobre la fe Católica. Para asistir, su familia DEVE estar
registrada en la Iglesia de San Enrique. NO HAY COSTO para las clases.
Las clases del lunes son en español solamente. Hay clases los martes para
los padres de habla Ingles.

Estamos preparando una canasta Navideña para las monjas Clarisas Pobres de
Adoración Perpetua quienes viven en su
monasterio en Tonopah. Habrá una caja
disponible después de cada Misa y en la
oficina. Las mujeres de nuestra Señora
de la Soledad las envolverán y llevaran.
Considere lo siguiente: caja de agua embotellada, pastillas para la tos, detergente
para lavar, guantes de jardinería de
mujer, rastrillos desechables, pasta e hilo
dental, estampillas de correo, café,
toallas de papel, paquetes de tarjetas
para saludos/tarjetas de agradecimiento,
veladoras , tarjetas de regalo para comida, tiendas de departamento & ferretería,
gasolineras, etc., o lo que usted crea que
puedan necesitar/usar/agradecer. Pondremos todo en una canasta navideña, la
dejaremos en su puerta, tocaremos el
timbre y correremos como . . . duendes.

Disciples of Christ.
