donate this income to LINK, S.O.M.E. and the Women's Shelter

SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
Engaged couples must make arrangements at least six months prior
to the date of marriage. All are required to participate in a
marriage preparation program. Please call the office to make an
appointment.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Baptism is ordinarily celebrated within a faith community. Please
call the office to register for a preparation class and to arrange for a
time for the celebration.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the
Guadalupe Chapel.
OFFERTORY GIFT BEARERS
What an honor it is to carry the wine, hosts and offerings to the
priest at Mass for consecration. Families and couples are invited to
sign up to bring the gifts at the Mass that they designate as their

A sign language interpreter is available on the
2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at the 5:30 p.m. Mass.

The CTR Senior Group meets Fridays at 11:30 a.m. in the Library
for “Bring Your Lunch” meetings or at a local restaurant on the
second Friday of the month. Parishioners 55+ are invited to join.

MISAS DOMINICALES
Nuestra Parroquia de Cristo Redentor celebra dos misas
Dominicales: la primera misa Dominical es celebranda todos
los sábados a las 7:00 p.m. y la segunda misa Dominical a las
12:00 del mediodía del día Domingo. La misa es una
celebración comunitaria; por lo tanto participan miembros de
los distintos grupos y movimientos de la comunidad católica,
por tal motivo tratamos de no particularizarla con gestos que
son propios de cada grupo o movimiento eclesial.
SACRAMENTO DE UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS
Por favor llamar a la Oficina Parroquial para solicitar la
suministración de los Sacramentos de Confesión o Unción de
Enfermos, ya sea en la casa u hospital.
MISAS MEMORIALES
La santa misa se puede celebrar en caso de muerte. Para

2015 BISHOP’S LENTEN APPEAL BEGINS!
Recently, Bishop Loverde sent a mailing regarding the 2015
Bishop’s Lenten Appeal (BLA). The theme for the 2015 BLA is
“Stewards of Christ Sharing Gospel Joy!” After reflecting upon
the many blessings that God has given you, please prayerfully
consider making a sacrificial pledge of support to this important
appeal that funds many programs and ministries that serve
thousands of people in our diocese. When we join together as one
Body in Christ, we can do so much for so many!
WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER
In today’s second reading St. Paul talks about the fact that married
couples have to deal with the anxieties of the world. Sometimes
those stresses can really have a negative impact on our marriages.
Get away from all those worldly anxieties and take time to just
focus on God and each other by making a Worldwide Marriage
Encounter Weekend. The upcoming weekends are 20-22 Feb. 2022 in Herndon or Apr. 17-19 in Fredericksburg. For more

BUSY COUPLE’S 7-DAY ONLINE RETREAT
In honor of National Marriage Week 2015, Bishop Loverde will
lead an online retreat for couples beginning on World Marriage
Feb. 8 through Feb. 14. Each day, Bishop Loverde will offer
reflections and practical steps for growing closer to Jesus and to
your spouse. The retreat will conclude at 10 a.m. on St.
Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, with a live reflection, exposition and
Holy Mass led by Bishop Loverde at the Cathedral of St. Thomas

SACREDNESS OF LIFE GROUP
Christ the Redeemer's Sacredness of Life group proclaims the
inherit dignity of every human person from birth to natural death.
Our mission promotes the sacredness of life through our parish
family and the community through prayer, education, service and
advocacy in accordance with the teaching of our holy Catholic
Church. Please join us at our next monthly meeting. We will

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP
Good Samaritan Council 6175 will be offering two scholarships
for 2015. Each scholarship will provide a one-time grant of $750
to qualified graduating seniors. To be considered you must be a
registered parishioner at CTR or St. Joseph’s. The awards will be
based on service to the community, and academic achievement.

MASS IN CELEBRATION OF CONSECRATED LIFE

Again we hear clearly in the Gospel—this time from an
unclean spirit, God’s great revelation in Jesus Christ. Yet, we
hear in the previous readings that there are consequences and
responsibilities for speaking with or without God’s authority.
And there are reasons to be anxious for the Lord rather than
being distracted by things of this world.
We continue to be challenged to confess that Jesus is Lord, but
not as an unclean spirit ordered to be silent. Can we speak this
truth with conviction and authority? Or are we made silent by
our own unreadiness or distractions?
May our inhibitions be silent and our proclamations be loud so
that others may see and believe.
