It’s hard for me to feel it sometimes, but I know your love is always with me. Help me to use your love as a way to persevere in my Lenten intentions. I am weak, but I know with your help, I can use these small sacrifices in my life to draw closer to you. Lord, let everything I do this day and in this season of Lent come from you, be inspired by you. I long to be closer to you. Help me to remember that nothing is important in my life unless it glorifies you in some way. Heal me, Lord, and help me to find you in the darkness of my life. Let me reach out in this darkness and feel your hand and love there to guide me. No flowers are allowed during Lent in the church or chapel. Volume XVIII No. 1776 First Sunday Of Lent February 22, 2015 Adult Ministry and Faith formation: Because Our Faith is too rich and beautiful to have ever learned it All…Contact Heidi Clark, Director of Adult Ministry, 281.333.3891, Ext. 328 or [email protected] Adult faith formation at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is centered around the understanding that living “The Way” taught by Jesus Christ is a life-long, evolving journey, involving both effort and decision. To enable adults to explore the faith and deepen their knowledge of God’s Word, we provide many opportunities to come together in a learning environment. As a diverse community with a small parish feel, we know it is important to walk that journey with others and to share what we have learned along the way. Can You Defend Your Faith? Join the Ladies Lunch Bunch Spouses, friends, coworkers, adult children, rebellious teens, in-laws, sometimes even strangers put us in a position of needing to defend what we believe. It is not unusual to find it hard to put into words what is so personal and yet so profound. If you find yourself struggling to articulate your faith, we are once again offering a program called Symbolon that promises to help you grow in your faith and know it more deeply than ever before. Symbolon takes participants on a journey into the timeless beauty and truths of the Catholic faith—all while revealing God’s incredible love for us as expressed in the story of salvation. The series is being offered on Thursday afternoons at 2 PM in Room 1 beginning this week on Thursday, February 26. The only cost involved is $20 for the workbook. Ladies of the parish are invited to join the St. Paul's Over 50 Lunch Bunch on Wednesday, March 11, at Angelo's Pizza and Pasta, 400 West Bay Area Blvd, Webster 77598, at 12:30 PM. If you do not receive a phone call, you may make a reservation by calling 281.474.3373. This group (Silver Lining) meets on the second Wednesday of every month. We look forward to having some new faces join us for friendly conversation and delicious food. Catholic Prayer is Next Adult Catechism Topic: March 10 The Catechism reminds us that Jesus asks us to believe in order to pray and to pray in order to believe. There is a complementarity in which knowing and loving God support each other. But how? Find out by attending our next adult catechism program set for Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 PM in Room 10. Discussions are facilitated by author, teacher and theologian, Julie Dienno-Demarest. Adult catechism sessions stand independently of one another; attend as often as you like. They are open to anyone interested in learning more about our faith. If you can’t attend this session, mark your calendar for the next one set for Tuesday, March 24: The Depth and Beauty of the Our Father. Do you want to be Catholic? The process of becoming a Catholic is called the RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. The RCIA is a process of coming to know Jesus Christ on a personal level and growing in readiness and commitment to be part of the Catholic Christian community.
