Seminar Economic Relations of China with Latin America and the Caribbean: a
prospective view
The Coordinator of the Latin America – Asia Pacific Observatory, Dr. Ignacio
Bartesaghi, participated in the Seminar the economic relations of China with Latin
America and the Caribbean: a prospective view held on 11 November 2015, at the
headquarters of the Instituto para la Integración de América Latina y el Caribe (INTAL).
Latin America – Asia Pacific Business Forum. The ASEAN, a new market for the
future
The Latin America – Asia Pacific held the “Latin America – Asia Pacific Business
Forum: The ASEAN, a new market for the future” on 24 and 25 November 2015. Such
event had the support of Prom Perú, and was held at Hotel Atton of Lima.
Master’s Degree Conferral Ceremony of the Graduate School of Management
(ESPAE)
On 26 November 2015, the Coordinator of the Latin America – Asia Pacific
Observatory gave a lecture at the Master’s Degree ceremony of the Graduate School
of Management (ESPAE) of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) of
Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The Coordinator of the Latin America – Asia Pacific Observatory participated in the
Discussion panel “Latin America - Asia Pacific Trade and the new “normal” situation in
China, organized by the Centro de Estudios de Asia Pacífico de la Graduate School of
Management of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral de Guayaquil, Ecuador, on
27 November 2015.

Korea-Latin America Water Environment Forum to be held
The Environment Forum of Korea – Latin America was co-organized by the Ministry of
Environment (ME) of Korea and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea and organized
by the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology (KEITI) on 3 and 4 November at
the Hotel Lotte in Seoul.
Conference: “China y el desarrollo económico de América Latina y el Caribe:
claves y perspectivas”
The conference “China y el desarrollo económico de América Latina y el Caribe: claves
y perspectivas” was held on Friday, 27 November 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at
Salón A3, of the Facultad de Ciencias Sociales. Dr. Enrique Dussel Peters, in charge
of such event, is the Coordinador of the Centro de Estudios China México (CECHIMEX)
of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and Coordinator of the Red
Académica de América Latina y el Caribe sobre China (Red ALC-China). The

On Wednesday, 18 November, the 4 volumes of the Red de América Latina y el
Caribe-China 2015 were presented by Liljana Arsovska, Ignacio Martínez Cortés,

Extraordinary Electronic Symposium on Chinese politics in order to debate
about the XIII Five-year Plan
More than 700 people participate in the initiative organized by the Observatorio de la
Política China (Chinese Politics Observatory). Such people are interested in issues
related to the changes in the Asian Giant. The countries of the participating people are:
Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, China, Ecuador, España, Francia,
Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Agreements and negotiations
Latin America has great promises for trade and investment of India
India is taking many new initiatives for intensifying the political commitment and the
increase of trade and investment in Latin America. The sharpness of India is very clear
through the intense interactions with the region in the last months. There have been
visit exchanges with almost all the countries of the region of the Caribbean, Latin
America and Central America in recent times. (News in spanish).
The Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry
Actively Promotes Production Capacity Cooperation between Hebei Province
and Latin American and Caribbean Countries
Invited by the People’s Government of the Hebei Province and organized by the
Department of Foreign Affairs of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, ambassadors of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in
China visited the city of Tangshan and the city of Qinhuangdao from 4 to 6 November
2015.
Mexico will foster its natural gas trade with Asia Pacific upon functioning of the
TPP
The Five-Year Plan of Gas Pipelines of the Federal Government will extend the
position of Mexico as a net importer of natural gas in the medium term, leaving
Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) with less participation in the sector; besides, it will not be
obliged to the current low prices of the gas, whereby it prepares to increase trade with
the Pacific towards the Transpacific Partnership Agreement (TPP, in English),
according to Economist Guillermo Bilbao, Director in Mexico of PA Consulting Group.

Chinese companies will invest more than US$ 2.000 millions in the Mexican State
of Durango
Two Chinese companies and the Mexican State of Durango (north) signed today in
Ciudad de México an agreement on energy matters, whose investment will be

Peru publishes texts of Transpacific Partnership Agreement
On Wednesday the 12 member countries of the Transpacific Partnership Agreement
(TPP) published simultaneously the texts resulting from negotiation of such trade

Inclusive business will be part of the agenda of APEC 2016 in Peru
As the next host of the Summit 2016 of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum
(APEC), Peru will continue giving priority to the initiatives on inclusive business (IB)
within the agenda for the development of the cooperation in the region. (News in

Chile and China coincide in free trade strategy in APEC
"Chile has common interests and closeness to China and today, with the planned
Multilateral Free Trade Agreement of the Asia-Pacific Cooperation Forum (APEC),
which is reinforced since we supported this initiative", according to Andrés Rebolledo,
Director General of Economic Relations (DIRECON) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of

APEC Ministers Issue Joint Statement
A joint statement detailing the new actions for progressing towards an agenda of
economic growth of Asia and Pacific, which benefits all and the future generation. Such
statement was issued by the Ministers of the 21 member economies of the APEC upon
the Ministerial Meeting of the APEC 2015, Tuesday in Manila.

Promotion of Vietnamese participation in business with Cuba
Cuba promotes the Vietnamese bank participation in business with the Island as part of
the cooperation for 2015-2016 period, analyzed today in Hanoi in the 33 session of the
Bilateral Intergovernmental Commission, according to agencia Prensa Latina. (News in
