En estas notas vas a encontrar mucha información que te será de gran importancia para todas las instancias del viaje. El reglamento del programa J1-Work Experience USA exige que sus participantes conozcan todas sus reglas. Los esperamos con fotos y anécdotas! WEUSA Staff. Employment Authorization for Work / Travel J-1 Visa Holders The DS2019 form is the employment authorization for J1 visa participants. When you are hiring a J1 Work/Travel visa participant, you must always ask to see their DS2019 form. The visa stamped in their passport is not sufficient without a DS2019 form with valid dates. If in doubt, please call the sponsoring agency to confirm that a participant is legal to work. The form will be printed on white pa-per from the SEVIS database (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) by the sponsoring agency and signed in blue. We recommend you photo copy each participant’s form for your records. Below is a sample DS2019 form. Points of Interest: The DS2019 form will be printed on WHITE paper. Pre-arranged Employer’s or J-1 Agency Address Sponsoring Company and Program Number Type of J-1 Visa Dates Legal to Work (cannot be extended or changed) Visa Category and Description must say “Summer Travel/Work; Basic skills, general” Immigration Stamp Responsible Officer Signature (legally in blue ink) Form DS2019 is formerly know as form IAP-66 2330 Marinship Way, Suite 250 Sausalito, CA 94965 • T [415] 339 2740 • T 888 449 3872 • F [415] 339 2744 • WWW.CCUSA.COM What happens if you fail to validate? • • • • • If you do not give us your physical address within the required time, State Department regulations require that your sponsor change your status to terminated which can have an adverse effect on future visa applications to the USA. If any US official checks on your status in the SEVIS system, they will know that you are in the US illegally. This could result in your deportation from the US!! If an employer calls us to verify you and you have a terminated status, we will tell them that your work visa is no longer valid. You must leave the United States immediately. If you do not and are stopped by any US authorities, you will be deported. Your insurance coverage can be cancelled. Please note: You MUST come back to the website and give us your new information whenever you change your living address. We must have any new information within 10 days of the address change. If you want to change your employer, you must contact CCUSA to get permission to do so and send us a new completed Independent Job Offer form. We must verify the new employer and you cannot work there until we have done so. If you fail to revalidate your visa or give us your new employer information within this time frame, you risk having your visa terminated. If this happens, you must leave the US immediately. 30 Day Check-In Procedure After your initial validation, you are also required to contact CCUSA every 30 days to confirm your living and working addresses and answer questions about your experience and the cultural activities you have done. CCUSA will send you emails reminding you of this required contact. Failure to respond to these emails or calls will result in the ending of your program. To complete your 30 day check-in, log into http://footprints.ccusa.com WITHIN 30 days of your validation or last check in. Confirm that your living and working details have not changed and answer the questions. Once you have checked-in, you will need to check in again within 30 days. If you do not check-in within 30 days, you will be locked out from this option and it may result in the ending of your program. You are required to check in every 30 days with CCUSA until the end date on your DS2019 form. Failure to do so can result in the termination of your visa program. IMPORTANTE RAZONES POR LAS CUALES TU VISA PUEDE SER CANCELADA Si fuiste contratado en la Feria de Trabajo o recibiste una Job Offer como Regular Placement,y decidieras no ir a trabajar al empleador que te contrató, tu visa será cancelada. Cualquier cambio de decisión con referencia a tu empleador debe sí o sí ser informado con anticipación a CCUSA, quien es el Sponsor oficial de tu visa, y se rige estrictamente por la información que figura en su base de datos. Esto significa que si le das aviso a tu empleador o manager pero NO a CCUSA, tu visa será cancelada. Cualquier falta al proceso de Visa Validation (ver hoja aparte) puede significar la cancelación de tu Visa. En caso de decidir cambiar de empleador, debés dar por lo menos 2 semanas de preaviso (2-week notice Form), el cual deberás entregarlo a tu empleador y simultáneamente enviarlo por fax o e-mail a CCUSA. Caso contrario, tu visa será cancelada. Para mandar un preaviso se necesita haber trabajado un mínimo de 2 semanas para tu primer empleador. De conseguir otro trabajo o un segundo trabajo deberás mandar a CCUSA la nueva Job Offer completa por tu empleador. No podrás comenzar a trabajar hasta que CCUSA autorice este nuevo empleador y verifique el trabajo para el cual te están contratando. Caso contrario tu visa será cancelada. También debés informar a CCUSA si vuelves a tu país antes de que termine el período de trabajo de tu visa. Cualquier problema con el empleador o cualquier situación de extrema urgencia deberá sercomunicada a CCUSA. ATENCION! El 2-week Notice Form se encuentra al final de tu International Staff Handbook.
