Joy and blessing to our First
Communion Children: William
Today’s Gospel:
John 10:1-10
Jesus is the “Good Shepherd”.
He Knows his sheep and they
know him. Whoever enters his
sheepfold will be safe.
A Special Announcement by Fr Gannon
A few weeks ago I was coming home from dinner
with my parents on a Sunday around 10pm and I
found a large number of Spanish Men in the big
parking lot drinking cases of Beer. For many years I
gave permission for some in our Spanish community
to organize Sunday afternoon fun in the parking lot
after the last mass. Many weekends they would set
up Volleyball nets and play, while their wives and
kids would hang out and enjoy the late afternoon.
That is a good thing. But recently I had been getting
complaints from the neighbors about loud music and
drinking until late at night. That night I came upon
just that and saw it for myself. I kicked all of them
out and told them they should not be there, drinking
on church property in the dark, late at night, after
they had sent home their wives and children.
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR. THESE MEN
WERE NOT ACTING LIKE ST. JOSEPH LOVING AND
PROTECTING AND MODELING GOOD HOLY
BEHAVIOR TO THEIR CHILDREN, THEY WERE ACTING
LIKE DRUNKEN THUGS!
So I can no longer allow this to happen, As of today
that Spanish group is no longer allowed to do the
Sunday afternoon volleyball gathering on church
property. If I find anyone there I will immediately
kick them out of the parking lot. If anyone gives me
attitude about it the police will immediately be called
and they will be arrested for trespassing on private
property. Remember we do have 24 hour
surveillance and I will hand that over to the police as
well. I don’t want to take this action. But the
alternative is to become blind to sins that are
occurring right on our property and is hurting our
community, our families, and giving the parish a bad
name to our neighbors. I am sorry to all the good
and holy parishioner who innocently take part in the
afternoon of fun and now will not be able to. But
pray for their conversion and for a return to holiness.
Thank you God bless Fr Gannon

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR
Happy Mothers Day to all Moms, Grand Moms, God
Moms, Step Moms, Foster Moms, and those expecting
new Children to be born within the next nine months.
Also, Happy Mother’s day to our Spiritual Mother, Mary.
Today we celebrate Mothers Day by blessing every Mom
at Mass and by having a Marian procession after the 9:45
am and 11:30 am Mass. We will pray the rosary, sing
songs to Mother Mary and crown her as our Mom. We
will also be joined, for the 1st time on a Sunday to receive
the Eucharist with us, our 1st Holy Communion class who
yesterday received Jesus for the 1st time. Also remember
to pray to Mary as we continue to prepare for the
Consecration to Mary on May 31st, (Feast of the Visitation).
FOLLOWING THE GOOD SHEPHERD
The joyful tone of the past three Sundays of Easter is a little
darker today. All three readings remind us of suffering,
death, and sin. We, like Peter’s audience in the first reading,
can ask, “What are we to do?” And the answer will be the
same: we must reform. Or, as Peter says in his first Letter,
we have strayed like sheep and must return to the shepherd.
Jesus describes himself as a shepherd in today’s Gospel, and
we know it was one of the earliest images of Christ in the
apostolic church. Today’s passage continues the darker
theme of the first two readings. Danger lurks and the sheep
need protection. They might follow a false leader; they
might be stolen or destroyed. Only in Jesus Christ will we be
safe. Only in him will we have eternal life. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION
Every rectory office has received a panicked phone
call from a person who has been invited to serve as a
godparent, or from someone newly engaged, who
suddenly “needs to get confirmed.” While the lack of
confirmation is not an obstacle for marriage, it is for
God parenting. Many are surprised that the Church
seems to be looking for a kind of sacramental “seal” on
one’s baptism before the door opens fully to this
ministry. Yet if you think about it, would you want
someone to guide you to a place that he or she had not
yet been? A godparent has to be someone who has
“been there” and knows the way.
Although signet rings and wax seals have passed from
use, our society depends on “seals of approval”
ranging from certificates of quality to the familiar
safety seals on medicines and foods. While Eucharist is
the “seal” of the sacrament of baptism, there is a sense
in which one’s Christian initiation is also incomplete
without confirmation. Have you been confirmed?
Perhaps it’s time to inquire now, before you have to
make that dreaded phone call! —Rev. James Field, Copyright © J. S. Paluch

CUARTO DOMINGO DE RESURRECCIÓN
Lecturas para el 18 de mayo del 2014
P. Lectura:
Hechos 6: 1-7
Salmo:
32: 1-19
S. Lectura:
1Pedro 2: 4-9
Evangelio:
Juan 14 : 1-12
mismo precisamente entregando siempre agua nueva.
MAYO, MES EN HONRAMOS
A MARÍA
Recuerde que la familia que reza
unida permanece unida. Enseñe a
Padre Gannon!
ADORACIÓN EUCARISTICA
DURANTE LA SEMANA
Pidámosle al Señor que nos ayude a
acercarnos más a través de la oración
frente a Jesús sacramentado.
LUNES: 9:30 am a 11:30 de la mañana.
PRIMER VIERNES DE CADA MES: 9:30 am a
7:30 de la noche.
BODAS:
¡ESOS HOMBRES NO ESTABAN COMPORTANDOSE
propiedad. Yo no deseo tomar esta acción. No
¡Muchas gracias Padre Gannon!
