Our Friday, June 10, speaker is John Abbate, a
Catholic Pro-Life real estate developer and franchisee of
23 McDonalds restaurants in the Central Valley. He is a
much sought-after speaker on numerous topics usually
focused on his three passions: Faith, Family and
Business.
For our final breakfast of the season, John will speak
to us about how hope, happiness and legacy are all
connected to the theology of self gift.
Since men and women are created in the image and
likeness of God, Vatican II taught us that "man, who is
the only creature on earth which God willed for itself,
cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of
himself" (Gaudium et Spes 24).
Flipping the "I want to be first" attitude of many in the
business world on its head, John will discuss how
Christian anthropology shows us that God has invited us
to participate in His divine life and how love for the
purpose of self gift is the true path to achieving our own
highest purpose as human beings.
John resides in the San Joaquin Valley along with his
wife Kaaren and their three children: Matthew, Kathryn,
and Andrew.
He holds a BBA in Economics from the University of
San Diego, an MBA with a concentration in finance from
the University of Notre Dame Mendoza School of
Business, and a Master of Arts in Catholic Theology from
the Augustine Institute.
