We are excited that the Colgate Bright Smile, Bright Futures
dental van will be visiting our campus on
Thursday, February 11, 2016! With parent permission,
students will receive a free dental screening, be taught how to
brush, floss, and learn the importance of eating healthy foods
and visiting the dentist.
PERMISSION FORMS HAVE BEEN SENT HOME. PLEASE
RETURN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Jump Rope for Heart
By jumping rope and securing sponsors, students raise
money for the fight against heart disease and stroke, all
while learning about the seriousness of heart disease and
stroke, the lifelong benefits of physical activity and the
importance of living a heart-healthy lifestyle.
This fundraiser will be held the month of February.
Jumping rope will be done during P.E. classes.
Students will be given the sponsor/donation form to ask
family and friends to help support the
American Heart Association.

3rd Grade Dictionaries:
The 3rd Grade students of Brazos Elementary received a special surprise of dictionaries. The Dictionary Project,
a non-profit organization donated the items to the 3rd Grade class. The 3rd Grade students will use them in the
classroom in a variety of ways.
Ice Cream at BES:
Beginning in February, the cafeteria will be serving delicious ice cream to the students on Friday’s. The cost of
the ice cream will be $.75 (75 cents). Students will still be expected to eat their meal prior to getting their
dessert. BES believes in healthy choices!
Bluebonnet Readers:
On February 26th, Ms. Kramr and library staff will be hosting a breakfast for the students who have read
Bluebonnet books this year. The students will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite. The students
invited are: Gracie Garza (5th Grade), Miranda Muegge (5th Grade), Kasey Zientek (4th Grade), Paige Demny
(4th Grade), and Kady Schneider (4th Grade).
Core Essentials:
Throughout the month of January, Brazos Elementary has been teaching the importance of self-control. In our
Community Time, our students have learned that self-control is doing what you SHOULD do not what you
WANT to do!
PTE Fundraiser for BES:
Brazos Elementary PTE is currently selling tickets for a chicken fried chicken plate, catered by Ben’s Chuck
Wagon. Each student has been given 5 specific numbered tickets to sell at a cost of $9 each. All sold and
unsold tickets need to be returned to the school by Friday, February 12th. Payment can be made in cash or
check to Brazos PTE. The pick-up date for the plates is February 18th at the BES cafeteria from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Diccionarios de 3 º grado: Los estudiantes de grado 3 º de primaria de Brazos recibieron una sorpresa especial de
diccionarios. El Proyecto de Diccionario, una organización sin fines de lucro donó elementos a la clase de grado 3. Los
estudiantes de grado 3 los utilizará en el aula en una variedad de maneras.
Helado en BES: A principios de febrero, la cafetería será servir helados deliciosos a los alumnos los viernes. El costo del
helado será $.75 (75 centavos). Los estudiantes todavía se espera que comen su comida antes de conseguir su postre. BES
cree en decisiones saludables!
Bluebonnet lectores: El 26 de febrero, la Sra. Kramr y personal de la biblioteca será el anfitrión de un desayuno para los

PTE para Recaudar Fondos para BES: El PTE de Brazos es actualmente la venta de entradas para un plato de pollo frito
pollo, atendido por Vagón de Ben. Cada estudiante ha recibido 5 boletos numerados específicos para vender a un costo
de $9. Cualquier boletos no vendidos deben ser devueltas a la escuela. Pago puede realizarse en efectivo o cheque a
Brazos PTE. La fecha de recogida de los platos es el18 de febrero en la cafetería de BES de las 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Estamos muy contentos que el mueble dental del Colgate Sonrisa
Brillante, Futuros brillantes estará visitando nuestro campus el lunes,
09 de febrero de 2015. Con permiso de los padres, los estudiantes
recibirán una evaluación dental gratis, enseñar cómo cepillarse, usar
hilo dental, y aprender la importancia de comer alimentos saludables y
visitar al dentista.

Saltar la cuerda para el corazón
Por saltar a la cuerda y conseguir a patrocinadores,
estudiantes de recaudan fondos para la lucha contra la
enfermedad cardíaca y accidente cerebrovascular, mientras
aprenden sobre la gravedad de la enfermedad cardíaca y
accidente cerebrovascular, los beneficios toda la vida de la
actividad física y la importancia de vivir un estilo de vida
saludable para el corazón.
Este evento se celebrará el mes de febrero. Durante las
clases P.E. hará saltar a la cuerda. Los estudiantes recibirán
el formulario de sponsor/donación a familiares y amigos para
ayudar a la Asociación Americana del Corazón.
