Y7 LC4 Programme – 2015-2016
Module
This module will focus on hobbies and interests, allowing
pupils to develop the information they can give about
themselves. They will talk about what sports and
instruments they play. They will learn to talk about their
favourite types of films and books, and then extend these
interests and hobbies by describing the weather and
how this affects the activities. Pupils will eventually be
able to discuss what they would also like to do at the
weekend. This will culminate in a presentation at the end
of LC4. (Theme 3.1.1 Culture and Identity)

Week 1 –
one hour
per week.
Week 1: There are two verbs for ‘to play’.
Week 2: Film and book genres are easy to understand.
Week 3: We use the verb ‘to do’ to talk about the
weather.
Week 4: The immediate future tense is as easy as 1-2-3.
Week 5: I can plan what to do if it’s sunny.
Week 6/7 – pupils will focus on a project related to their
favourite hobbies and interests.
Week 1: There are two verbs for ‘to play’.
Pupils will:
 Learn the two diffeent verbs for ‘ to play’.
 Understand when you use ‘hacer’.
 Learn different leisure activities.
 Give an opinion.
Linguistic features to consider:
 Jugar – juego
 Tocar – toco
 Hacer – hago
 Me gusta / no me gusta + infinitive
Week 2 –
one hour
per week
Week 2: Film and book genres are easy to understand.
Pupils will:
 Understand which genres belong to which types of
films/books.
 Categorise specific films and books.
 Say what they like to read or watch and why.
Week 3 –
one hour
per week
Linguistic features to consider:
 Me gusta + genres.
 No me gusta + genres.
 Veo la tele, voy al cine para ver...
 Porque es + adjectives used for reasons.
Week 3: We use the verb ‘to do’ to talk about the
weather.
Pupils will:
 Identify different types of weather according to
pictures.
 Look at the verb ‘hacer’ used for weather.
 Look at when ‘está’ is used and why.
Linguistic features to consider:
 Hace
 Está
 Calor, frío, soleado, nevando, lloviendo
Week 4 –
one hour
per week
Week 4: The immediate future tense is as easy as 1-2-3.
Pupils will:
 Learn how to say what they are going to do at the
weekend.
 Make plans using the simple future.
Linguistic features to consider:
 Este fin de semana , la semana que viene
 Voy a + infinitive
Week 5 –
one hour
per week
Week 5: I can plan what to do if it’s sunny.
Pupils will:
 Pupils will learn how to say ‘if it is + weather’.
 Make a plan according to the weather.
Linguistic features to consider:
 Si está + weather
 Si hace + weather
 Present and future tense of activities.
Week 6/7 –
one hour
per week
Week 6/7 – pupils will focus on a project related to their
favourite hobbies and interests.
Pupils will:
 Pupils will create a keynote that will be presented
in class.

They will talk about everything they have learnt
over LC4, they will include their favourite hobby
and interest as well as why they like that specific
thing. They will add in what their weekend plans
are, and what to do if the weather is good/bad.
Eg. Me gusta jugar al rugby porque es interactivo,
también toco la guitarra. Veo la télé a veces, pero
no me gusta Eastenders, prefiero las noticias. Si
está lloviendo, voy a jugar al tenis en el
polideportivo.
