My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
This week, on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, we will again be making and renewing our consecration to
Jesus through Mary.
For us here at Our Lady of Lourdes our consecration is a fulsome embrace of the great blessing God has offered us in
Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, as our patroness. On the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes itself, we celebrate the great ministry
of healing that is Lourdes with a Healing Mass followed by our Candlelight Procession to the Grotto. As it was at Lourdes
that Mary told Bernadette, “I am the Immaculate Conception,” we have chosen this beautiful feast for our annual Mass of
Consecration.
By opening her life to us Mary shows us that we need not be afraid to give ourselves wholly to Christ. Like Mary at the
Annunciation we are filled with joy whenever we say “fiat voluntas tua” to the Lord and His Grace overflows us and
blesses all around. Mary helps us to notice what God is doing for us and through us and to ponder it in our hearts. She
helps us to come to understand the work of the Spirit and to cooperate with it. Mary is there with us when we are asked
to stand with Christ on Calvary and she helps us to persevere with faith until the Resurrection comes.
Finally, Mary draws us into her own work of evangelization. She who comes to us, in our own time and place, to lead us to
Christ so that we might share with her the glory of heaven moves our hearts to care about what happens to others. In our
consecration to Jesus through Mary we go to our brothers and sisters, in their time and in their place, to share what we
have found and to journey with them to a new life in Christ.
To be here at Our Lady of Lourdes is a tremendous blessing. We could have no better patroness, there is no guide more
loving and sure. Let us each individually and in communion say “yes” to this blessing. Let us consecrate ourselves to Jesus trough Mary and live that consecration. Let us open our hearts to her, trusting without reservation that she will lead us
to her son and safeguard our lives in Christ.

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,
Esta semana, en la Solemnidad de la Inmaculada Concepción, volveremos a hacer y renovar nuestra consagración a
Jesús por María.
Para nosotros aquí en Nuestra Señora de Lourdes nuestra consagración es un abrazo efusivo de la gran bendición que
Dios nos ha ofrecido en María, Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, como nuestra patrona. En la fiesta de Nuestra Señora de
Lourdes en sí se celebra el gran ministerio de sanación que es Lourdes con una Misa de Sanación seguida por nuestra
Procesión de las Velas hacia la Gruta. Como fue en Lourdes que María le dijo a Bernadette: "Yo soy la Inmaculada Concepción" hemos elegido esta hermosa fiesta para nuestra Misa anual de Consagración.
Al abrir su vida a nosotros María nos muestra que no tenemos que tener miedo de entregarnos totalmente a Cristo. Como María en la Anunciación nos llenamos de alegría cada vez que decimos "fiat voluntas tua" al Señor y Su gracia nos
desborda y bendice todo alrededor. María nos ayuda a darnos cuenta de lo que Dios está haciendo por y a través de nosotros y a reflexionar en nuestros corazones. Ella nos ayuda a llegar a entender la obra del Espíritu y a cooperar con él.
María está allí con nosotros cuando se nos pide estar con Cristo en el Calvario y ella nos ayuda a perseverar en la fe
hasta que llegue la resurrección.
Por último, María nos atrae hacia su propia obra de la evangelización. Ella quien viene a nosotros en nuestro propio tiempo y lugar, nos lleva a Cristo para que podamos compartir con ella la gloria del cielo, mueve nuestros corazones para que
nos preocupemos por lo que le pasa a los demás. En nuestra consagración a Jesús por María nos dirigimos a nuestros
hermanos y hermanas, en su tiempo y en su lugar, para compartir lo que hemos encontrado y caminar con ellos a una
vida nueva en Cristo.
Estar aquí en Nuestra Señora de Lourdes es una gran bendición. No podemos tener mejor patrona, no hay guía más
amorosa y segura. Vamos cada uno de forma individual y en comunión a decir "sí" a esta bendición. Vamos a consagrarnos a Jesús a través de María y a vivir esa consagración. Abramos nuestros corazones a ella, confiando sin reservas que
nos lleva a su hijo y salvaguarda nuestra vida en Cristo.
