Each new generation of EPSON printers offers a variety of improvements, and one that

the faster you get your work, the happier you'll be. The AcuLaser C8500 speeds out jobs in
color at 6 ppm and in black-and-white at 26 ppm. What's more, first print speed is a snappy 26
seconds. The technology explained below makes this possible - with no sacrifice in the superb
quality EPSON is known for.
AcuLaser Technology for Speed
AcuLaser Data Processing
The AcuLaser C8500's high-speed performance starts
with EPSON's advanced printer driver software,
where spooling and data compression are handled.
The data is then transferred to the printer via a superfast interface, where it is received by a highperformance 266MHz RISC CPU. The 64MB RAM
memory (expandable to a huge 768MB) also
contributes to faster throughput by allowing data to be
moved and processed with extreme efficiency.
High-Speed Laser Engine
The printer's laser engine is where the real work is
done, and the AcuLaser C8500 boasts an upgraded,
faster version of our previous models. Not only is this
engine quick, it offers solid reliability you can count
on job after job, month after month, year after year.

AcuLaser RIP-Once Technology
The real test of a printer's speed is how efficiently it
can deliver multiple copies of a multi-page document.
With most printers, you either have to issue a
separate print command for each copy, thus tying up
the computer and network, or issue a multi-copy print
command and collate the pages by hand. AcuLaser
RIP-Once Technology overcomes this dilemma by
accepting the data once, storing it in memory and
then printing multiple copies from it. For even higher
volumes, you can add the optional 6GB hard disk.

latest screening and halftoning technologies. By
precisely controlling the size of each dot to one of 16
steps, the printer's basic 600 dpi resolution is
increased to an effective 2400 dpi. This results in

Featuring the EPSON Status Monitor 3 on-screen
display, the printer driver software makes it easy to
select colors, sizes and other settings, monitor toner
levels and paper availability, and even handle simple

operating in a network, the Direct Print function
tracks all jobs and displays their status on the users'
PC screens so they know when their jobs are finished.
