PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
O Lord, who maketh messengers of Thy angels
and flaming fires of Thy ministers send to these
people who are Thine and who wish to be Thine,
many priests, brothers and sisters, and vest them
with justice, so that Thy saints may rejoice.
Thou who knowest all hearts, indicate the elect to
whom Thou wouldst wish to entrust so sublime a
ministry of truth and love.
Reveal to their parents the grandeur and
incomparable beauty of the gift of their own sons
and daughters that they would make to thee, and
grant them strength to overcome opposing
interests and affections.
Bestow upon their teachers, the essential light for
cultivating in their young hearts the delicate plant of
a vocation, until the day, when, ardent and pure,
they shall mount to Thy holy altar or make their
religious profession. Amen.

The Many Forms of Penance in Chris an Life
The process of conversion and repentance was described by Jesus in the parable of the prodigal son, the center of
which is the merciful father: the fascina on of illusory freedom, the abandonment of the father's house; the extreme

feed swine, and s ll worse, at wan ng to feed on the husks the pigs ate; his reflec on on all he has lost; his repentance and
decision to declare himself guilty before his father; the journey back; the father's generous welcome; the father's joy - all these are
characteris c of the process of conversion. The beau ful robe, the ring, and the fes ve banquet are symbols of that new life - pure
worthy, and joyful - of anyone who returns to God and to the bosom of his family, which is the Church. Only the heart Of Christ

La conversión de los bautizados
De ello da testimonio la conversión de san Pedro
tras la triple negación de su Maestro. La mirada de
infinita misericordia de Jesús provoca las lágrimas
del arrepentimiento (Lc 22,61) y, tras la resurrección
del Señor, la triple afirmación de su amor hacia él
(cf Jn 21,15-17). La segunda conversión tiene
también una dimensión comunitaria. Esto aparece
en la llamada del Señor a toda la Iglesia:
¡Arrepiéntete!" (Ap 2,5.16). [CCC1439]

La Biblia, fuente de esperanza y fe para el matrimonio
En nuestra Santa Iglesia, el mes de septiembre es el mes de la Biblia. Este año lo celebramos además
en el marco del Año de la Fe, declarado por Su Santidad Benedicto XVI. En sintonía con este año especial
para la Iglesia Universal, recordamos que la Biblia es la propia Palabra del Dios Creador del Universo. Como
bien dice la Palabra en Romanos 10, 17, la fe viene por el oír, y el oír, de la Palabra de Dios. Este importante
pasaje nos recuerda que es leyendo, escuchando, escudriñando y reflexionando en la Palabra de Dios
contenida en la Biblia que Él comparte y aumenta en nosotros el regalo de la fe.
Por ello, es importantísimo que la pareja que desea real y fervientemente permanecer unida en el amor lea,
comparta y reflexione la Palabra de Dios. Como pareja, tomen aunque sea 5 o 10 minutos por día para que
uno lea en voz alta uno o más versículos de la Biblia. Puede ser un versículo escogido o también pueden
seguir una guía de lectura y reflexión de la Palabra ya organizada y programada. Lo importante es que
esposo y esposa unidos lean, escuchen, reflexionen y se dejen iluminar por esta Palabra que es alimento
que da frutos de vida. Es impresionante ver la paz, guía, motivación, inspiración y unidad que trae a la vida
de la pareja el compartir diariamente la Palabra de Dios.
En este Año de la Fe, regálense como pareja el tiempo de leer y compartir la Palabra, ya sea al despertar, al
acostarse, o aun mientras manejan al trabajo, la escuela o a visitar familiares y amigos. Así también al oír de
la Palabra, aumentará y se solidificará su fe y tendrán mayor capacidad de superar cualquier prueba, unidos
en el amor de Dios.
Es importantísimo que la pareja que desea real y fervientemente permanecer unida en el amor lea,
comparta y reflexione la Palabra de Dios.
