to be best at keeping the finish intact

Apply the cleaning solution and
immediately wipe dry for best results
•
Avoid harsh cleaners with glycol ethers,
ethanol type solvents and/or isopropyl
alcohol as they can soften the PVC
finish if left on for several minutes

1. Remove existing garage door trim using pry bar or claw
hammer (Fig. 1)
2. Measure the top opening from side-to-side and cut

Jamb to fit using a fine tooth power or hand saw
3. Attach top Jamb to 2x4 or 2x6 structural frame members using 8d galvanized finishing nails; alternate
nailing from side-to-side every 12" and 3/4" from each
edge (pre-drilling is required at temperatures of 40˚ F or
below) (Fig. 2)

4. Measure and cut Jamb side pieces to fit from top Jamb
to floor and nail as directed
5. Measure brick mould to overlap the top jamb by 1/2",
allowing 1/8" to 1/4" of the jamb to remain visible on
the top and sides; cut 45˚ angle on ends; butt or angle
joint middle seam as needed (Note: Visible portion of
jamb may vary depending on siding, J-channel, brick or
block installation) (Fig. 3)
6. Install Brick Mould using 10d or 3" galvanized finishing

nails, spaced 12" on center, penetrating structural frame at least 1";
PVC cement can be used in mitered joints for optimal fit
7. Measure and cut side Brick Mould trim to fit and install as directed
(Fig. 4)
Garage Door Thermo*Stop®
1. Open garage door and remove old door stop using
Veranda Garage Door
System Tearpad
claw hammer, then close door (Fig. 1)
2. Measure and make entire marks 1/2" from outside of
garage door around the jamb; using a straight edge,
draw a line through all the marks (Fig. 2)

3. Open the door and measure top opening from side-toside; cut Garage Door Thermo*Stop to size using fine
tooth power or hand saw, keeping ends square (Fig. 3)
4. Place grooved side of Garage Door Thermo*Stop

against Jamb and inner edge along the marked lines;
nail in place with 6d galvanized finishing nails in the
pre-punched nail guides or 8" on center (Fig. 4)
5. Measure and cut lengths of Garage Door Thermo*Stop
to fit from top of door to floor; position grooved side of
Stop against Jamb and nail as directed (Fig. 5)

6. To ensure proper drainage and overlap, trim side pieces
of Garage Door Thermo*Stop with scissors at 45˚ angle
where the soft vinyl weather stripping meets the top of
the Garage Door Thermo*Stop (Fig. 6)

Painting
Desired custom finishes can be achieved using 100%
acrylic latex paint. To maintain warranty for custom
colors in darker shades, use of heat-reflective paints
is recommended. (Dark Colors are considered any
color that falls within the lightness (L) value of 56
to 0 noting that 100 is white and 0 is black.)

Determine where you want the lower edge of your base moulding to stop on the wall. Make a level line around
your room. Invert the base moulding so the flat edge faces toward the ceiling. Attach with nails or glue.

Install like you would install crown as a stand-alone feature, except the lower edge will
rest against the face of the base moulding you have installed instead of the wall.

provide a strong bond prohibiting joints from
opening. It is highly recommended to splice
(scarf) and/or miter all joints.
Painting:
Royal Trimboard may be painted using a 100%
acrylic latex paint. Painting cellular vinyl with
dark colors such as dark green, black and dark
crimson red is not recommended.

1. Square cut ends to ensure a 90˚ cut before beginning installation. Allow 1/4” on each end for
expansion.
2. Face nail the first piece against one side of the ceiling on 16” centers.
3. Insert the next piece into the slot and continue nailing through the tongue at a 45˚ angle on
maximum 16” centers until ceiling is completely covered.
4. Use PVC cement or OSI TeQ Bond where plank ends are scarf cut or mitered.
5. The last piece will probably need its width adjusted. Measure, mark, and rip it to the desired
width.
6. Face nail the last piece as close to the wall as possible.
7. Cover edges with crown or trim moulding.
CAUTION: Ceiling planking should never be used for load-bearing application. Attic space above
porch should be vented.
Wall Installation
1. Square cut ends to ensure a 90˚ cut before beginning installation. Cut pieces to the desired
length.
2. Apply construction adhesive to back of piece of wainscot.
3. Starting in a corner of the room and making sure the groove side is in the corner and the
tongue side is exposed, press the first piece into place.
4. Nail through the tongue into the wall at a 45˚ angle.
5. Continue gluing and nailing until you come to the corner. At this point, it may be necessary to
rip the last corner piece so that it will fit.
6. Repeat along each wall.
Painting
Beaded planking may be painted using 100% acrylic latex paint. Painting cellular vinyl with dark
colors such as dark green, black and dark crimson red is not recommended. Typically a paintable
exterior high quality acrylic latex caulk is recommended.

Painting
Desired custom finishes can be achieved

To reduce or eliminate open joints, the
preferred method is the use of adhesive
commonly called “pipe glue” or “PVC
pipe cement”. When bonded correctly
with this adhesive, the joint becomes an
integral part of the system being applied.

2. Remove old door stop
with claw hammer.
3. Close garage door.
4. Measure/mark 1/2” from
outside of garage door at
several points around jamb
on top and sides. Connect
marks with a straight edge.
5. Re-open garage door.
6. Measure the width of the top
opening from side to side.
7. Cut to fit. Use a fine-tooth
power or hand saw to cut
weather strip ends square.
8. Place grooved side against
jamb and inner edge,
along marked lines.
