From the Pastor:
“Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us, therefore celebrate the Festival.”
1 Corinthians 5:7-8
Just These Lines My Friends….Friends, we are in the midst of the seasons of Lent and
Easter, the seasons of ‘Paschal Mystery.’ What is this mystery that is at the very heart
of the gospel? Many of us are more familiar with the term ‘Passover.’ Passover is a
celebration of God’s saving rescue and deliverance of the Israelites from bondage in
Egypt. The ‘paschal lamb’ which was sacrificed to God in memory of that night of
deliverance from death, became a central symbol of redemption in the Jewish tradition
and in our Christian Old Testament. This symbol appears in the New Testament,
especially in the gospel of John and the writings of Paul. When we speak of the
Paschal mystery, we are talking about the saving work of Christ; and these days in
which we tell the story of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection.
Take every opportunity to be in worship during this sacred season. Join us for a special
study on prayer on Thursday mornings and/or our Lenten Study during the Sunday
School hour. Plan to come for a special Healing Service and a special guest musical
program offered later this month. Come for our Chancel Choir’s musical cantata offered
this year on Palm Sunday; our special Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services
during Holy Week. Make plans now to invite your friends and neighbors to attend our
Easter Egg Hunt; the Community Easter Sunrise service, the Easter pancake breakfast
and our Holy Easter worship services.
As always, it is my great joy and blessing to be your Pastor and friend.
Lenten Blessings,
Pastor Deb

The AGAPE class is collecting all pre-owned treasures (clothing, kitchen wares,
furniture, appliances, etc.) for the Yard Sale. The sale serves many functions, including
providing the surrounding community with household items and clothing at reduced
prices, creating a presence of caring in the community, and funding our treasury for
our missions. Please contact a class member if you need assistance in getting items to
church. We are starting to collect things now with some storage available in the
building.
If you would like to help in ANY way with the Spring Festival (the day of and/or in
preparation), please complete the yellow card in Sunday bulletins, call the church
office
and
leave
your
information,
or
e-mail
Sue

The Spring Festival takes a lot of individuals to make it a success! So please sign up to
help and give some of your time. The Spring Festival is a great way to reach out to
community and it is a day of fun and getting to know our neighbors. There is a spot
for everyone -- no matter your physical ability. You won’t want to miss out. Give a few
hours and enjoy the festivities. There is a cake with your name on it at the “Cake Walk”
and Jerry and Jane Cummings have a Bingo Card that is waiting for you to yell “Bingo”
with. Have lunch while you are here. Joyce and her team will have hot dogs for
everyone. How could you resist? Come and help or just come to enjoy the day. Now
don’t forget to sign up to help!!!

Dear Ramsey Memorial, I want to really thank you for the nice love basket
you brought me for Christmas! The load of bread was so delicious. I’m
enjoying the cookies now. I’m looking forward to reading the book as
soon as I complete the one I’m reading now which I’m almost finished.
Your thoughtfulness has meant so much to me. Thanks again! Hattie
Graham
Thank you, Ramsey, for the field basket during the holidays. It was very
much appreciated, especially the time preparing it! Dolores Thomas
Dear Ramsey Church, thank you for remembering Hilda this Christmas with
the very thoughtful Christmas basket. The church has been so good –
calls, visits and Christmas gift. Hilda misses coming to church but getting in
and out of the car is too much for her. Thank you for staying in touch; it
means a lot to her and to us. Margaret Wooldridge
Thank you to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the 10th
Annual Sweetheart Dinner Dance an exciting and fun time for all!
Your energy, enthusiasm, and love of fellowship truly are
appreciated! I look forward to next year! (Joyce Walsh)
Lenten Healing Service
There will be a special service of healing
prayer on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. This
service will include prayers for individual
healing (with anointing oil) as well as
intercession for those we love and for those
all over the world who are in such desperate
need of healing and hope. There will be
contemplative elements, as well as themes of
power and praise, and a sermon brought by
Sarah Russo. Let us speak hope into our lives
and into the world; let us shine a healing light
into the darkness. Please join us for this
powerful service.
The 55+ Luncheons are
back!
We trust everyone has been looking
forward to the return of our
luncheons, and we hope that you’ll be
able to join us on March 13th
Missions Team Annual
Spud Sunday Fundraiser
Can you believe it? Our St. Patrick’s
Day celebration is on Friday the 13th?!
A little thing like that is not going
to stop us from having a great meal
(corned beef and cabbage, of course)
and lots of fun and fellowship.
Sunday March
15. Be ready for a
mouth-watering Spud
and all the fixings, salad
and dessert. Please
come and support our
missions team.
So save the date, and plan to join us
in the Fellowship Hall at 12:00 (but
you know you are always welcome to
arrive a little bit early!)
Invite a friend who may want a break
from winter!
See you soon!
On Sunday, March 22, Ramsey will be hosting
friends of Sarah’s -- special musical guests for an
evening program, preceded by a covered dish
dinner. The group, called the 3-Penny Cantata is
an 11-song audio-visual cycle set in Palestine
during the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus
Christ and is performed by composer Chris Lucas,
accompanied by other musicians. Each of the 11
songs is sung by a particular biblical character and
eye witness to the events. It is performed in a
singer/songwriter format, with informal comments
and set-up between songs. The songs explore the
questions, doubts, and ultimate wonder of the
disciples, and the other men and women closest to
Jesus. Listeners can place themselves in the same
situations, broadening in their imagination the lifechanging and life-giving events of that week.

Pastora, Norma
The Rev. Sue Nilson Kibbey, Director of Missional Church Initiatives in the
