ADDENDUM
Avviso importante per l’utilizzo di un GPS collegato a NEPTUNE
NEPTUNE (con versione software 3 - 4) è in grado di selezionare diverse impostazioni
relative al collegamento dell’apparato con un GPS.
 Attivazione/disattivazione beep di avviso: Nel caso in cui nessun GPS sia collegato
al ricetrasmettitore, si raccomanda di disattivare il beep di avviso del GPS. Utilizzare il
tasto DSC, selezionare MENU e premere più volte (3 x) MORE fino a visualizzare la
voce GPS nel sub-menu. Confermare e selezionare la voce WARN BEEP ON.
Premere per confermare: verrà visualizzato WARN BEEP OFF
 Attivare/disattivare il GPS Checksum: Alcuni GPS inviano un segnale checksum al
termine di ogni trasmissione. Non essendo però questa funzione richiesta dallo
standard NMEA, non tutti i GPS trasmettono un segnale di controllo. Consigliamo
pertanto, di utilizzare l’impostazione di default CHECKSUM OFF quando si collega il
GPS per la prima volta. Se si vuole attivare questo segnale di controllo, provare
l’impostazione CHECKSUM ON: se funziona correttamente, si ottengono dati più sicuri.
Queste voci si trovano nel sub-menu cliccando su DSC, MENU, 3 x MORE e GPS. Per
testare questa funzione, è necessario spegnere e riaccendere l’apparato. Dopo alcuni
secondi, il display mostrerà i dati GPS.
Important note for using GPS connected to NEPTUNE
Your new NEPTUNE marine radio (with software version 3 - 4) can select several settings for
matching the GPS connection according to Your needs
 Warning beep tones on / off: In case You have not connected any GPS to the marine
radio, we recommend to switch off the GPS warning beep tones. Use the DSC soft key
and click to MENU and several times (3 x) to MORE until You reach the sub menu
point GPS . Click to GPS and select sub menu point WARN BEEP ON. After click to
the soft key, it will show WARN BEEP OFF
 GPS Checksum on / off: Some GPS models send a checksum signal after each
transmitted signal string. Other models do not transmit such a control signal, it is also
not requested in NMEA standard. We recommend to use the default setting
CHECKSUM OFF initially when connecting Your GPS for the first time. You may test
CHECKSUM ON with Your GPS, if it works, You gain more data confidence if You
leave the checksum control set to on. You find the SUB menu point by clicking to DSC,
MENU, 3 x MORE, and GPS. For testing please switch the radio off and on again. After
some seconds, the display should show the GPS data.
Wichtige Information zum Gebrauch von GPS beim Seefunkgerät NEPTUNE
Ihr neues NEPTUNE (ab Software Version 3 - 4) unterstützt verschiedene GPS modes zur
besseren Anpassung an Ihre Wünsche:
 GPS Warntöne ein/aus: Für den Fall, dass Sie kein GPS Gerät an Ihrem Neptune
angeschlossen haben, empfehlen wir Ihnen, den GPS Warnton abzuschalten.
Benutzen Sie die Taste DSC, wählen dann MENU und klicken 3 x auf MORE, bis Sie
den Menüpunkt GPS erreichen. Klicken Sie auf WARN BEEP ON und die Anzeige
ändert sich auf WARN BEEP OFF.
 GPS Checksumme ein/aus: Einige GPS Geräte senden zur Erhöhung der
Anzeigesicherheit eine Prüfziffer am Ende jedes übermittelten GPS Signals. Da dies
nach NMEA nicht zwingend vorgeschrieben ist, übermitteln einige GPS Geräte jedoch
so ein Signal nicht. Lassen Sie daher zunächst CHECKSUM OFF (ausgeschaltet),
wenn Sie Ihr GPS Gerät zum ersten Mal anschliessen. Danach können Sie
versuchsweise auf CHECKSUM ON umschalten und prüfen, ob Ihr NEPTUNE die
Information aus dem GPS übernimmt (Zum Test bitte Funkgerät einmal aus und wieder
einschalten). Nach einigen Sekunden muss die GPS Information im Display
erscheinen. Geschieht das nicht, schalten Sie die CHECKSUM wieder auf OFF. Sie
erreichen den Menüpunkt wie oben über DSC, MENU, 3 x MORE und GPS.

NEPTUNE (con software versión 3 - 4) puede seleccionar diversos ajustes relacionados a la
conexión del equipo con un receptor GPS.
 Activación/desactivación beep de aviso: En el caso en que no se haya conectado
ningún GPS al equipo, recomendamos desactivar el beep de aviso del GPS. Utilice la
tecla DSC, seleccione MENU y pulse tantas veces como sea necesario (normalmente,
tres) MORE hasta visualizar la voz GPS en el sub-menú. Confirme y seleccione
WARM BEEP ON. Pulse para confirmar: se visualizará WARM BEEP OFF

Activar/desactivar el GPS Checksum: Algunos GPS envían una señal checksum a la
finalización de cada transmisión. Al no ser una función requerida por el estándar
NMEA, no todos los GPS transmiten una señal de control. Aconsejamos por
consiguiente, que utilice el ajuste por defecto CHECKSUM OFF cuando se conecta el
GPS por primera vez. Si desea activar esta señal de control, pruebe el ajuste
CHECKSUM ON: si funciona correctamente, se obtienen datos más seguros. Este
ajuste se encuentra en el sub-menú pulsando en DSC, MENU, (3 x) MORE y GPS.
Para comprobar esta función, deberá apagar y encender el equipo. Después de
algunos segundos, el display mostrará los datos GPS.
Avis important pour l’utilisation d’un GPS connecté au NEPTUNE
Avec la version software 3 - 4, NEPTUNE peut être connecté à n’importe quel GPS.
 Activation/désactivation « Beep » d’avis: Si aucun GPS n’est connecté au
NEPTUNE, nous vous recommandons de désactiver le « Beep » d’avis du GPS.
Utilisez la touche DSC, sélectionnez MENU et appuyez plusieurs fois (3 x) sur MORE
jusqu’à visualiser « GPS » dans le sub-menu. Confirmez et sélectionnez “WARN BEEP
ON”. Appuyez pour confirmer: “WARN BEEP OFF” sera affiché.
 Activer/désactiver le GPS Checksum: Certains GPS envoient un signal checksum à
la fin de claque transmission. Cette fonction n’est pas requise du standard NMEA et
c’est pourquoi tous les GPS ne transmettent pas un signal de contrôle. Donc nous vous
conseillons d’utiliser la fonction « default CHECKSUM OFF » quand le GPS est
connecté pour la première fois. Si vous voulez activer ce signal de contrôle, activez
CHECKSUM ON: si il fonctionne correctement, vous obtiendrez des données plus
sûres. Cette sélection se trouve dans le sub-menu en appuyant sur DSC, MENU, 3 x
MORE et GPS. Pour essayer cette fonction, il faut éteindre et allumer l’émetteurrécepteur. Apres quelques secondes, l’afficheur indiquera les données GPS.
