in Northern Nevada, but the card can be accepted at any WIC authorized

EBT CARD AT THE
GROCERY STORE
1. Make sure you know your Summer EBT for Children
food item balance using a current Shopping List or your last receipt.
2. Shop for your Summer EBT for Children items, then go to the
checkout lane. Look for a sign that says “WIC at any lane” or a
designated lane with a sign that says “WIC accepted here.”
3. Separate your Summer EBT for Children-eligible
items from your other groceries.

4. Tell the cashier that you will be using your Nevada Summer EBT for
Children Card and give them any store or manufacturer’s coupons
you may have.
5. Select “WIC Purchase” on the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal, then swipe your Nevada Summer EBT for Children Card.
6. Enter your four-digit PIN and press “Enter.”
7. The cashier will scan each item to confirm that it is an
approved Summer EBT for Children food item.
8.
The cashier will enter the amount of your coupons, total all
Summer EBT for Children food items and give you
a Summer EBT for Children receipt. Your receipt will say
“WIC” and shows you your remaining benefit balance.
9. Make sure you have your Nevada Summer EBT for
Children Card and receipt when you leave the store.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I get my Summer EBT for Children food benefits on the
Nevada SEBTC Card?
You will have one Nevada Summer EBT for Children Card which holds
all the benefits for eligible students in your household. Benefits are
automatically available on the 1st of each summer month, and unused
benefits expire at midnight on the last day of each month.
How will I know my SEBTC food benefit balance?
What happens if I need to change my Summer EBT for Children
food benefits?
You will need to contact your Local Summer EBT for

changes to your food benefits.
What if I plan to move or change my address?
1. Always keep your last receipt as this will show your
remaining balance.

address is correct, as this is how you will receive your replacement card
should your card be lost or stolen.

What is a PIN (Personal Identification Number)?
There are three ways to get your balance:

and ask the cashier to do a balance inquiry.
Your PIN is a four-digit secret code that allows you to use your Nevada
Summer EBT for Children Card at the grocery store. Your card WILL
NOT work until you select your PIN. You will select your PIN when
you get your Nevada Summer EBT for Children Card. Choose four
numbers that are easy for you to remember, but hard for someone else
to figure out.
Never tell your PIN to anyone! DO NOT write your PIN on
your Nevada Summer EBT for Children Card. If someone
knows your PIN, they can use your card to get your
benefits and those benefits will not be replaced.
