SENIOR MINISTRY NEWS
Have you ever overheard someone say “Why are the same people always doing “X”?
Or, “Why can’t they do “X”. Or, why does it take so long for things to happen? Or, “Why
aren’t there programs for “X”? Well… have you ever considered how much easier it is to talk
rather than to par cipate and make things happen? There is a severe shortage of people
who are prepared to give back and volunteer some me and in turn give the “X” people a
break/help! Those “X” people are commi ed to con nually going above and beyond what
an average person is asked to do – just to keep exis ng ministries/programs func oning - to
say nothing of new ones.
The Senior Ministry has been in existence for seven years and con nues to grow in its
programs as evidence by the number of lives we have been able to touch. This is due to the
loyal and dedicated volunteers who con nually go above and beyond with our programs and
thri shop.
As our ministry con nues to grow, thanks in part to the success of the thri shop, we
find that our volunteers are being stretched to an unhealthy limit. Hence, I appeal to you to
reflect and see if your personal schedule would allow you the opportunity to give back. We
could definitely use women and men to help for a few hours a week, bi-weekly or monthly.
We would be happy to discuss our needs with you and see if you have a fit with one of our
