February 14, 2012 19:44 From Nancy Lee: I started at Clover Park at the beginning of my junior year in
September 1960, having transferred in that summer from a small high school in Port Angeles. It was a big
change for me and took some getting use to as I had left behind many of my closest friends and classmates
with whom I had grown up. I didn't get to know that many of you but I found the students at C.P. to be friendly
and congenial, and I did make some great friends and create some wonderful memories during my two years
there. I went on to graduate from the UoW with my B.S. in Physical Therapy in June '73, married Robert that
summer, honeymooned in Europe, the Middle East, and in Egypt, then returned to the UoW that fall term to
begin work on my Master's in Speech Pathology, which I received in August '74, just three months before my
30th birthday. Shortly after I received my master's, Robert resigned from his position as the CFO of a major
corportation in Seattle and we moved to Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand where we have lived ever since. Once
we arrived here, we fell in love with the country, its culture, its climate, its quality of life, and its freindly people. I
am able to go for daily walks in the beautiful park setting of the large, 185- acre Auckland Domain, located less
than half a mile west of our home. Robert started out working in Auckland as a middle manager for a large
company, and eventually worked his way back up to being a senior executive VP. During my many years here, I
have enjoyed the numerious challenges of working as a Speech Therapist in Auckland. We have one son,
Michael, who was born in Auckland in 1983 when I was 38 years old and is doing quite well for himself. I regret
that I will be unable to attend our Golden Class Reunion in August, but I will be there in spirit and will keep all of

Went to Seattle U after CPHS. Made it through 2 years. Wound up as an Infantry Lt in Vietnam--thinking back
on that, would have preferred the Jesuits. Another 14 years active Army, VN, Thailand, Korea, Kiev in former
USSR, other odd places. Another 9 years in reserves, including Desert Storm, not fun. In meantime successive
careers as a bar owner/ski area marketing dir in Winter Park, CO; hotel GM-Hotel Co VP; and finally for some
reason running convention centers, currently the one in Savannah GA. Married to Mary Ellen, no kids but many
cool neices and nephews. Enjoy outdoors, beach, motorcycling, kayaking, rowing. Only had my senior yr at
CPHS--first 3 were in Panama Canal Zone--but remember how friendly and open everybody was there to
newcomers.

nursing supervisor and clinic manager, met a classmate from high school, Jerry Flynn on match.com in 2006
and became very good friends, retired from nursing in 2010, Chapter 4: Jerry and I are traveling together in a
vintage (1996 26,000 miles) motor home we bought, Jerry is a master at fixing and remodleing, we are
currenttly working as camp hosts in Crescent beach, about 15 miles west of Port Angeles, we are having
fantasic time, we are meeting people from all over the world, our jobs are fun! I have volunteered both of us to

From Janelle: This is awkward--I've been telling everyone I'm 39... Okay, I’m over the shock so I’m back. I’m
only going to tell you the good stuff. For the rest, you’ll have to send money (I'm setting up a website.). After we
graduated, Dick Hooper (CP Class of ’61) and I went to Eastern Washington to attend classes and party. On the
way, we stopped in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where a Justice of the Peace with a wooden peg leg wearing a brown
stripped zoot suit married us before I checked into the dormitory. (Yes. Idaho. We couldn’t read a map). After
Dick graduated, and got his regular Army Commission, We began to travel from one army fort to the other. I let
him go without me to Vietnam because I’d been warned about what the tropical air could do to a woman’s hair.
We have one daughter who lives too far away (about three miles). She insists upon keeping our grandson with
her so, obviously, she’s very selfish. When Dick grew up he became a banker and then a corporate bankruptcy
specialist which has left me lots of time to follow my passions: organic gardening, photography, marine science,
archaeology, history of the Old West, and more. He has yet to retire. While I’ve been waiting for him to take me
off to a tropical island somewhere I’ve published six books, have another one in the cooler, and am writing a
one-man show for a Hollywood actor. Lately, I’ve been involved with Amazon’s WorldReader; they’ve accepted
two of my books for their program. I’m also working on another project for them. Dick and I live in Puyallup
where we have a good life without any drama. An exciting night for us is when we sit on the deck with a drink
and watch the moon roll over our pasture. Life is good. I look forward to seeing all of you at the reunion.

Married Nory Martinson in Sep of 64. We had 3 children, the youngest went to heaven after 2 days. We had a
construction business in the area for 6 years. In 73 we joined Wycliffe Wycliffe Bible Translators. We spent a
year and a half in training, 10 years in the jungle of Colombia, 10 years directing a mission training school in S
TX, 5 years in Senegal, W Africa, 2 years in Dallas, 10 years in WA and moved to MN in May of 2012. We still
work with the mission but are able to do that from home, where ever home is. Occupation: Missionary with

Mel: I joined the Army Reserve right out of highschool. Got married in Sept of 63 (it is still going strong), did an
aprenticeship as a carpenter and had my own construction business for six years. We joined Wycliffe Bible
Translators as a builder in 73 and lived in the jungles of Colombia for 10 years, directed a mission training
school in S TX for 10 years, served as associate director of Wycliffe's work in Senegal W Africa for five years.
While in Senegal was sent for hostage negotiator training. Returned to Dallas in Sept of 99 and have been in
Wycliffe's international administration ever since. No plans for retirement as we have not found anyone retired
that enjoyed life more than we do. I spent my younger years on a horse but since have upgraded to one that
only eats when it is working. My wife enjoys riding also. We plan to be in WA in August and look forward to
seeing every on at the reunion.

Joined the army July 26, 1962 - Spent 20 years. First nine in electronics communications and the next ten in
nuclear power production. Last two in Prime power production and engineering. From August 1982 to April 2008
continued in the maintenance field ending up as a maintenance manager for a local community college. Retired
from that. Now just doing odd jobs around the house and volunteering at a stable working with mentally and
physically handicapped children.

Gerri: I’ve been married for 45 years to a very good man, Randy Dawson. We have two super daughters both
very active in church and community work and five Grandkids from 19 years old down to two 6 year olds. Both
the girls live with their families within ten minutes of us here in Sammamish, Wa. Thus, we do a lot of you know
what – you got it – babysitting. Life has been good - filled with lots of adventures – some real tough – and some
really fun. I am an avid tennis player – well to the extent that we play, Rand and I, together twice a week
endeavoring always to keep the ball away from the other Five days a week I write an inspirational message
called “God Calling” and have been doing this for almost 25 years. It all started when our daughter went off to
college and we moved to Las Vegas. She was stressed out and we were missing her This started me writing
messages to inspire her to be all that she could be. Little did we know it would be something that others needed
as well. And, I’m a walker – so I keep the body moving and shaking by taking our one year old puppy, Mazie, for
her daily walk. We have lived in three states – Washington, Nevada and Arizona – all have been great
experiences. Rand is retired from the banking field and I am semi-retired from my Hypnotherapy/counseling
business. We have a cabin/retreat property in Republic, Wa. that is for sale, by the way, and thus spend a great
deal of the summer months there although there is great skiing close by in the winter months. We are far too
busy in our retirement years, but enjoying it all day by day. What a great thrill it is to be able to imagine seeing
you all once again.

Worked at ABC Cookie factory behind the B&I after High School until Larry got out of the Army and we were
married in 1965 and I became a full time homemaker. Moved to Seattle and bought our first house in 1966.
Cindi was born in 1968. Tammy was born in 1972. Member of South Park Missionary Baptist Church. Moved to
Clarksville, TN in 1974 where Larry earned his BA at CBC and I attended some classes. Did sewing and
alterations to supplement our income. Member of Bible Baptist Church. Moved back to Tacoma in 1978 and we
started a home mission work that was organized as The Lord's Baptist Church in 1980 under the authority of the
South Park Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle. Have two granddaughters and two grandsons. Enjoy day trips
to the mountains and the ocean and a bi-annual two week stay in our Condo Timeshare in Kauai. ALOHA!

We actually talked to Mickey at the March Reunion Committee meeting at the Tacoma Golf and Country Club.

20:56 From James "Carl": I was a military kid that came to Clover Park my junior year. I attended 9 different
schools to get through 12 years. Graduating from Clover Park allowed me to get into Central Washington. There
I went through 4 years of Air Force ROTC. In August 1966, I graduated, got commissioned, and married in one
week. The marriage proved to be the more important of the three. Melody and I have been married for 45 years.
We had 2 sons and 1 grandson. Our grandson is sixteen and really into music. He plays base guitar with a rock
band and base violin with his high school orchestra. Me love him very much, He is our only grandchild. The 19
years after Central were busy and exciting. I was an Air Force Air Traffic Control Officer in Mississippi and
Taiwan. Our first son was born in Taiwan. I was never in Vietnam. I had many jobs after the Air Force and then I
happened on to a teaching position with Operation Head Start. I did not have a teaching degree and after
teaching 2 terms with Head Start I returned to Central for an Ed degree. I took 9 months. I taught for 10 years.
We have been living in the Bremerton area since 1977. We were and are very active members of our Lutheran
church. Our sons were brought up in that church. We knew they had been given the chance to know our Jesus
and have a personal relationship with Him. On February 26, 1984, I left our house to attend a board of directors
meeting at Martha and Mary Nursing Home in Poulsbo. I passed by a group of aide vehicles and people
standing around an accident. I am always the time keeper and drove on. Our oldest son, Jeff, had been hit and
killed just minutes before I drove by. He was only 14. We were devastated and overcome with grief. It was one
of those points in life when you did not know if it was worth going on, but you knew you had to go on. A month
later our Pastor gave a sermon on missions. He described a small Lutheran society called Lutheran Bible
Translators. Something happened to me. I was consumed by passion that others should know what my son
knew about Jesus. Christians express experiences like this as, "a call." We went out with Lutheran Bible
Translators as Literacy and Literature Development Specialist for the next 25 years. We spent 8 years in Sierra
Leone and 15 years in Botswana. They are in Africa. My heart is in Africa, but because of poor health I retired in
2010. We will only be at the picnic on Saturday. I'll be the old man in the African shirt. Come by and share some

I have lived in Indianapolis, IN for close to 30 years now, and I work for myself. I have a bookkeeping, payroll
and tax service. I am married and I have 3 step-children and 7 grandchildren that range in ages from 3 yrs to 21
yrs. I am married and my husbands name is Pete. We have been married for 26years. I hope to make it to the
reunion this next year. I was great fun to talk to David Eaton, and I am glad that he was able to find me. I will

I came to CPHS as an Army brat, having recently arrived back from France. This made for some amusing
encounters in my first year French class in the 9th grade. Sitting next to me was a guy who had just come back
from Bordeaux; I had lived in the Alsace-Lorraine region, where the French is influenced by German.
Consequently, both of our regionally learned dialects were different from the Parisian dialect of our teacher. We,
being brats of the Army sort, didn't mind insisting that our versions were correct, while we eyeballed each other
for who was right. We should not have been sitting next to each other! Arriving to a community (now Lakewood)
that was relatively stable, who had not frequently moved all over the place, was a real challenge. I felt out of
place and friendless. We learned quickly as military dependents to make friends fast and shallow, since at any
moment one of us would be gone the next day. Therefore, moments of genuine stability at CPHS became life
long inspirations. For those inspirations I am very grateful to Virginia Heidbreder (drama) and to Paul Wagley
(advanced history placement), both of whom provided not only intellectual stimulation but also philosophical and
artistic structures. Their professionalism led me into lifelong pursuits of religion, philosophy and the arts. Upon
graduation, I went through teacher training, graduating from Concordia University Chicago and took a deep love
of thinking about human nature at its fundaments into teaching grammar school, junior and senior high schools
and then as a college professor, after earning an MA in Theatre from the University of Denver. I studied dance
with Martha Graham and professional acting with Lee Strasberg. Meanwhile, I had begun playing timpani and
percussion and subsequently did so over 30 years with various orchestras. Among many memorable
experiences was playing with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Midwest Professional
Choir in their historic reconstruction of the very first performance of Handel's Messiah. Another was spending a
summer acting with the Light Opera of Manhattan. And a third was dancing with members of the New York City
Ballet. And finally, it was a joy to have been performing in Chicago with the beginning of the Liturgical Dance
and Theatre movements. Music, theatre and dance became the bedrock of my professional life, experiences I
took with me into several pastorates within the United Church of Christ. I received an MDiv and immediately
launched into starting the UCC AIDS Ministry and for that became a consultant around the United States,
worked on national policy and traveled to Europe to share what we were doing on this side of the pond. I ended
my professional relationship with organized religion as Senior Minister at First Congregational Church San
Francisco, then took myself through an intensive training as a massage therapist and thereafter have focussed
on healing. I most recently retired as Chaplain at Hospice of Humboldt (CA) and now have a private practice
using sound environments, ritual and specific forms of rattling and drumming to assist people in entering
ecstatic trance states for healing, unlocking creativity and promoting peace of mind. In our ecstasy starved
culture, the reintroduction of these ancient practices has proven very beneficial wherever people are doing this
"shamanic" work. And for that, I became a Certified Teacher at the Cuyamungue Institute (Santa Fe, NM) In
addition, I am in consultation with folks at New York University in wanting to find ways to reunite the origins of
our ancient traditions that unfortunately have been split apart, over some centuries, into separate tracks of

you who have already signed on. I was only at CPHS for 2 years and did not know many of you, but I sure have
fond memories. OMG when I see my photo in the annual ... no wonder I didn't date!! Kit, I do remember you,
and I did reply to your email but got the "permanent failure" msg ... you must be on the road. Life has taken me
down many roads, including being on active duty in the USAF during VietNam and later getting a masters
degree. After 2 marriages, I only 4 legged children and too many of those as I rescue street dogs! Now I live in a
very rural part of NC where I raise organic vegetables (30 yr cancer survivor)and quilt. Have a great time in
August - I will be there in spirit!

After Clover Park, being an "AirForce Brat", wanted to be a fighter pilot and went to the University of Utah in
AFROTC, but the physical in my junior year failed my eyes for pilot training. I left school to avoid flying a desk
for the 5-year obligation I would have had, and ended up in the Army for a couple of years, including one in
exotic Southeast Asia (VN)in '66-'67. Then returned to the UofU to finish school, married, and went to work for
the State of Utah. I retired from there after 33 years, and started a consulting business that was going to be just
a few hours a week, but turned into a 60-hour plus thing. My wife retired from the Union Pacific after 38 years,
and I've been backing out of the consulting business the last few years. Now we travel, play a lot of golf, spend
some time in Hawaii, Mexico, Nevada, and take a cruise or two a year. We have a terrific daughter who has her
own business and coaches a high school girl's golf team, a granddaughter and grandson we're very proud of.
Life is good, glad to still be able to enjoy it.

After leaving So. California 30 years before, and swearing never to live here again, I found myself moving back
down here 3 1/2 years ago to be near my 4 grandsons. My daughter has the 4 boys. My son hasn't given me
any grandchildren yet, but I haven't given up hope. I babysit the 2 year old twice a week which keeps reminding
me of why parents are usually younger. I've lived in CA, Montana, South Dakota, and WA. Sorry I'm unable to
make the reunion, but I hope it's as fun as it sounds like it will be.

1992. Actively shortened "Bucket List" from '92-96 as news sports reporter, charter boat captain, Gulf and
Caribbean yacht deliver captain, sailboat racer, wrestling coach and overworked community volunteer. Team
leader for USA wrestling international tours. Wrestled on and coached USAF Worldwide teams off and on from
’71-’92. Coach C.I.S.M Games (Military World Championships). USA Women’s Freestyle team Head Coach to
France in 1999. In second life" taught science and coached wrestling/sailing at FWBHS in Fort Walton Beach,
Florida, from 1996 until retiring in 2008. Still married (40 years) to the love of my life, Lyn (Bellevue/’65). Still
race sailboats and live on the bayou in Fort Walton Beach. Still officiate high school wrestling through the winter
season. Still spend May – October in Birch Bay Village (Blaine), Washington, as "Florida heat and Hurricane
emigrants" where we boat/kayak/RV/sail/fish/crab or anything else we can find to do in the beautiful NW

I met Charlie at Whitworth & married in 1964. We both graduated (65 & 66) and began teaching. We also raised
quarter horses as a hobby, but then became a business. We showed our horses throughout the NW and
Canada. After showing horses, Charlie headed for the roping arena (heading)and I, of course, am his
cheerleader. Charlie still ropes and we travel wherever there is a roping. Charlie retired from teaching in 1995
and I followed in 1999. We sold all our breeding stock, retiring after 40 years with the horses in 2005. We have
been able to enjoy life doing what we love. Our son, Wade, passed away in 1979 do to heart problems from
birth. Jason and his family live only 10 miles from us in the Palouse Rolling hills. Country living agrees with all of
us.
