FOR COUNSELORS: Enabling college success
Research shows that low- to moderate-income students have more barriers to college success
than any other group. Moreover, the same studies show that those barriers can be more difficult
to overcome. La Casa is a new model in student housing that integrates successful components
of on-campus living with specialized programming to assure student success in college. La
Casa provides a safe, affordable place to live plus the added advantage of an on-site Resource
Center with an expert network of staff who oversee student-centered services.
FOR PARENTS: Empowering success
La Casa is a community of students from various colleges and universities whose goal is to
graduate from college. This residence hall offers students a safe, affordable place to live with
their own space in which to study, mentors to help them succeed, and continual support to
connect them with all the benefits provided by their college or university. Services are offered in
English and Spanish.
THE RESURRECTION PROJECT/EL PROYECTO RESURRECCIÓN
La Casa is an initiative of The Resurrection Project—a not-for-profit organization that strives
to create healthy communities through education, organizing, and community development.
Located on the Southwest Side of Chicago, in the heart of the city’s Pilsen neighborhood, The
Resurrection Project has been serving Chicago’s Latino community for more than 20 years.
We created La Casa to provide students from various universities with a living and learning
environment that promotes academic achievement, personal growth, and future success.
Students must qualify to live at La Casa, and there is no family housing available. Space is
limited. Recent high-school graduates and current undergraduate-level college students are
welcome to apply.
La Casa es una iniciativa de El Proyecto Resurrección, una organización sin fines de lucro que
se esfuerza por crear comunidades fortalecidas a través de la educación, de la organización y
del desarrollo de la comunidad. Ubicado en el sector sudoeste de Chicago, en el corazón de
Pilsen, El Proyecto Resurrección ha estado sirviendo a la comunidad latina de Chicago durante
más de 20 años. Creamos La Casa para proporcionar a estudiantes de distintas universidades
una convivencia y un ambiente de aprendizaje que promueva el logro académico, el
crecimiento personal y un exitoso futuro.

La Casa es un modelo innovador de residencia estudiantil que rodea a los estudiantes con

adicional de un Centro de Recursos que está localizado en el mismo sitio. El Centro de Recursos
proporciona una gran variedad de programas y servicios, inclusive apoyo para desenvolverse en
la complejidad de la vida universitaria y en desarrollo de liderazgo. La Casa es una comunidad de
estudiantes provenientes de varias universidades, que viven y aprenden juntos para asegurar el
éxito en la universidad.
