You can purchase tuition units all at once, buy them over time
or get them through an installment plan. The choice is yours!
How Do I Get Started?
You may enroll in the plan any time between Sept. 1 and
Feb. 28 (Feb. 29 in leap years).

calculator to research the various unit pricing and payment
options.
The Texas Tuition Promise Fund can help you build for your
child’s education in a way that’s easy and affordable—while
sheltering you from rising tuition costs.
With the Promise Fund, you can begin paying for college
now, based on prices determined by today’s tuition costs.
The plan lets you purchase “tuition units” that your child
can trade for semester hours. These can be used at all Texas
public colleges and universities as well as private colleges in
Texas and schools throughout the U.S.
How Does It Work?
The Promise Fund offers three types of tuition units.
All-Texas College Units can be used to pay for undergraduate resident tuition and required fees at any Texas
public college or university, regardless of its cost.
Texas 4-Year College Units are lower priced and are
based on the weighted average cost of undergraduate tuition and required fees for in-state students at four-year Texas
public colleges and universities.
Texas Junior College Units, the most affordable, cover
the weighted average cost of undergraduate tuition and
required fees for in-state students at two-year Texas public
colleges.

The Texas Tuition Promise Fund.

El programa Texas Tuition Promise Fund puede ayudarle a
acumular fondos para la educación universitaria de sus hijos
de una manera fácil y prudente, protegiéndolo a la vez de
los aumentos en los costos de la matrícula universitaria.
Con este programa, usted puede ahora comenzar a pagar
los gastos universitarios basado en los costos actuales. El programa le permite comprar las “unidades de matrícula” que el
estudiante puede intercambiar por las horas semestrales en
las universidades públicas y privadas de Texas, al igual que
en otras instituciones universitarias de los Estados Unidos.
¿Cómo funciona?
El programa le ofrece tres tipos de unidades de matrícula.
• Las unidades denominadas como All-Texas College
