Baptisms in English take place on the Sunday of the last Sunday
of the month at 2:30 p.m. during the following months: January,
March, May, July, September and November. Parents should call
the Parish Office to arrange the Baptism. Parents are required to
attend a Pre-Baptism Class.

A NEW KIND OF KING
Why does Jesus enter Jerusalem? Or better: How does
he enter? The crowds acclaim him as king. And he does not
deny it or tell them to be silent. But what kind of a king is
he? He rides on a donkey, not accompanied by a court, not
surrounded by an army as a symbol of power. He is
received by humble people, simple folk who have the sense
to see something more in Jesus. They have that sense of
the faith which says: here is the savior. Jesus does not
enter the holy city to receive the honors reserved to
earthly kings, to the powerful, to rulers. He enters to
receive a crown of thorns, a staff, a purple rope: his kingship becomes an object of derision. He enters to climb
Calvary, carrying his burden of wood. Jesus enters Jerusalem in order to die on the cross. And it is precisely here
that his kingship shines forth in godly fashion: his royal
throne is the wood of the cross!

Good Friday Collection Presence – Care - Service
The daily news reminds us of the violence and instability
plaguing the Middle East, but we rarely hear of the
shrinking Christian community there, a community that
struggles to remain in the land of Christ’s birth, death and
resurrection. Please help support our brothers and sisters
in the Holy Land by giving to the special Good Friday Collection. This Pontifical Collection allows the Franciscans and
others to continue caring for Christianity’s holiest sites and
for God’s people in the Holy Land. Please be generous in

Reconciliation Day
On Monday, March 30, 2015, our Diocese will once
again join the Diocese of Rockville Centre in
celebrating Reconciliation Monday. On this special
day, all the churches of our dioceses will offer the
Sacrament of Reconciliation. In our Parish
Reconciliation will be offered in English, Spanish and
Chinese, from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., in preparation
for the holy days of the Paschal Triduum.

The Paschal Triduum
Holy Thursday brings Lent to a close and begins the Three
Days that are the center of our year. On these Three Days we
gather a number of times. Together we hear some of the
church’s most beautiful prayers and scriptures and we sing
some of our finest music. Please look closely at the schedule
above and make plans to take part in the various liturgies of
Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. Above all,
come on Saturday night for the Vigil. Please set these days
aside to be with Our Lord.
The Divino Niño Mass will be canceled on
April 5, 2015 due to Easter Sunday.
