Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Perhaps one of the most difficult aspects of stewardship to accept
involves how we follow our faith — how we live out our Catholic
beliefs. One of our sacraments is the sacrament of reconciliation.
Today’s readings deal with that sacrament.
In the first reading from Samuel, King David is chastised by the
prophet Nathan for his sinfulness. David, recognizing and acknowledging his sin, says, “I have sinned against the LORD.” He is
forgiven. That same theme is followed in the Gospel of Luke, which
tells the story of the sinful woman who enters the house of Simon
the Pharisee to honor Jesus. Like David she recognizes her sinfulness, and Jesus says to her, “Your sins are forgiven…Your faith has
saved you; go in peace.”
The good steward understands the importance of spiritual healing.
The Sacrament of Penance is the Sacrament of this spiritual healing. It involves contrition, confession to a priest, absolution by the
priest, and penance.
Some theologians have referred to reconciliation as “the more difficult Baptism.” None other than St. Ambrose, one of the original
four doctors of the Church, drew a comparison between Baptism
and Reconciliation: “There are water and tears; the water of Baptism and the tears of repentance.” We, too, need to strive to hear
“Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

These can also be a wonderful baby or wedding gift. Please contact

of you. Please call me with any questions - Pat at 214-616-3789.
Patriotic Photo Display Case
The St Ann Knights of Columbus are proud to have sponsored
the development and creation of a Patriotic Photo Display case
that has been erected in the Church hallway, leading to the Narthex.
The Patriotic Photo Display case will honor those St Ann Parishioners and their immediate family members who are serving on
ACTIVE Duty in our Armed Forces.
The case was designed and constructed as an Eagle Scout project
by Scout Troop 841 member, Jake Radcliff, and will be administered by the St Ann Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly.
So, if you are a St Ann Parishioner and have a Parent, Spouse or
in-Law, Sibling, Child, or Grandchild, serving on Active Duty in
one of our Nation’s Branches of Service, you may submit a photo
of that family member for display in the case.
The photos will be posted on a monthly basis and will remain for
at least one month depending upon volume received and available
space. Photos may be displayed more than one time.
Submission forms and additional information are available on the
Welcome Cart in the Narthex and will be posted on the Parish
web site, stannparish.org.

Church History
Church History illustrates how a community, guided by the Holy
Spirit, has evolved throughout the centuries. These events and actions are filled with joy and sorrow that remember an essential truth
for us: We are the Mystical Body of Christ in human history, in the
struggle to remain faithful to the Gospel, and to see ourselves as the
mustard seed that should grow and bear fruit. Come learn about our
Church History; the good, the bad and the ugly.
This class is open to all members of the parish and meets requirements for 10 hrs. of credit towards Catechetical Certification as
required by the Dioceses of Dallas.

Carnival-Silent Auction
Teams of our Lady
Teams (Teams of our Lady)
is a group of 5-7 couples that meet monthly to share their
news, a potluck meal, prayer, and study a topic with a family/
marriage/spiritual focus. The couples form a unit that is supportive and caring, where ideas are exchanged and thoughts
are challenged. As part of an international movement recognized by the Pope, we strive to live the vocation of marriage
in a world that often does not support it. There are couples
of all ages in Teams, with and without children. If you are
interested in more information, please contact Chusi & Tom
Gehrlein at 972-393-3579 or [email protected].
SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS
Don’t miss this deduction! Income taxes got you down? Do you
need more charitable donations? Do you want to help a great
cause?
If you said yes to any of the above, the Silent Auction Committee
would love to hear from you. We have already started to collect
items for Auction and we could use your help. We are requesting
a donation of goods or services for our Silent Auction tent. The
Silent Auction raises money by auctioning off your tax-deductible
donations (i.e., tickets to a big event, hunting trip, use of a time
share, etc.) to the highest bidder. We would be grateful to count on
your new or continued support of this fundraising effort. Please
contact Steve Bovenzi at 972-757-3794 or email at sbovenzi@
gmail if you have any questions or to arrange for pick up/delivery
of your contribution. Thank you in advance for your consideration,
and we look forward to you being a part of our biggest Carnival
ever!

Horario Misas y RECONCILIACIÓN
"Sus pecados...le han quedado perdonados, porque ha amado mucho..."
Horario de Misas
Misa Dominical (Inglés)
Sabado (Vigilia) 5:00 pm;
Dominigo 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm
& 4:30 pm (Misa de Jovenes)
Misa en Español
Domingo 2:00 & 7:00 pm
