IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGES ARE A CONSTANT IN MY LIFE. “My loved ones, my race mates and my sponsors are the family that helps me reach the limits of my mind and beyond” DOSSIER DE PRENSA 1 THE ACHIEVEMENT: 4 deserts racing the planet The only runner in the world who completed the 4 toughest desert races in the same year, 4 Deserts Racing The Planet. “2012 left an indelible special mark in my mind, full of emotions and happiness” Atacama Crossing, Gobi March, Sahara Race and the Last Desert became a part of me, of every centimeter of my body. DOSSIER DE PRENSA 2 2014 challenge: 5 Continents grand slam SWEDEN CHILE SOUTH AFRICA AUSTRALIA ISRAEL “Races and adventures fill me up with life, that’s why 2014 will be even more challenging” Running 160 km no-stop races across the 5 continents, in the so called 5 Continents Grand Slam. Objective: Be the first person to complete the 5 continents in the same year. Sweden, first stop, 12th april 2014. Next stop: Chile, South Africa, Australia and Israel. DOSSIER DE PRENSA 2b 2014 challenge: 5 Continents grand slam 1st Challenge COMPLETED Vicente Juan García finished the first race of Grand Slam of the 5 Continents in Sweden. Finishing the 161 km in 15 hours and 44 minutes and getting the gold medal accrediting finish the race in less than 20 hours. Notably, last year won the race in 17 hours and this year the top 10 finishers are down this time. DOSSIER DE PRENSA 2c 2014 challenge: 5 Continents grand slam 2nd Challenge COMPLETED Vicente Juan García is the winner in the second race of the Grand Slam of the 5 Continents in Chile. Vicente Juan García won in Atacama Xtreme 100 miles. In this case, the harsh innate conditions of the Atacama Desert was compounded temporary with sand and snow never before seen in the Atacama Desert that forced the cancellation of the race at mile 110, where Vicente was leading. DOSSIER DE PRENSA 3 challenge 2014 Grande Trail Serra D’Arga 2014 - RTP 2 April in Portugal: 3 stages, 130 km, 5,000 km height difference. Trans Gaspesia 2014 August in Canada 260 km. Self-sufficiency race. Ultra Africa Race November in Africa, Burkina Faso, 213 km self-sufficiency race. DOSSIER DE PRENSA 4 PROJECTS 2015 Badwater Ultramarathon 271 km foot race with over 4,000 cumulative positive slope during July in California (USA). Crossing the desert of Death Valley, where daytime temperatures can reach 49 º C in the shade. Yukon Arctic Ultra The most ultra cold hard world marathon. Held every two years in the Arctic, for 8 days over 800km. Only 15 people in the world have been able to complete it. During the cold and dark winter month, February, withstanding temperatures of -40 º C and with only 6 hours of daylight, carrying all the necessary shot of a sled team. DOSSIER DE PRENSA 4b PROJECTS 2015 Roadsign Continental Challenge Complete the challenge started in 2014 with the Ultra and Ultra Race Bolivia Norway Race. The Ultra Race Bolivia takes on 170 km walking in 6 stages in total self-sufficiency. The Ultra Race Norway, non-stop race first held in July 2015. Grand Challenge Shared Together with Jeison Christian Costa and Sebastian Colquhoun (2 only Latin American to achieve the Grand Slam finish 4 Desert) Challenge multiplied by these 3 international runners. Projects: - Camino de Santiago - Himalaya Stage - Crossing the Andes * 1 of these 3 projects will take place in 2015, the other two will be held in 2016.
