FROM THE PASTOR
Dear Friends in Christ,
This weekend is designated as the Annual Pastoral Appeal Commitment
Weekend. When I am asked about the size of St. Clement parish I usually say
that we are a parish of about 3,000 families and I quickly follow up with, about
half of whom are registered. In our APA numbers for 2012 the record of 2,755
families should read more like 1,952 families. Regardless of how the computer
tells us what our count might be, I am well aware that many people come to our
parish who are not necessarily registered and consequently will not receive the
le er regarding the APA that was sent to those who are registered in our parish.
Last year we fell short of our goal by $ 12,222.27. The good news is that we
eclipsed our goal for both 2010 & 2011 by a combined $ 16,234.13. Consequently, we have enough to make up for the shor all. What concerns me is that
the number of people giving to the APA has consistently fallen short of our goal
of 500 givers. It is my hope that you will hear this weekend a compelling enough
presenta on to make a pledge for this year’s APA. In our six liturgies every
weekend we come together 2,500 – 3,000 of us to worship the Lord and give
thanks to God in the Eucharist because we are Catholic. In this year of Faith we
should reflect that this beau ful gi of our faith does not come from a void but
has been passed on through centuries of development and that we are beneficiaries of so much because of our Catholic faith. In this year following our centennial celebra on we are encouraged to move forward with gra tude to God. I
cannot ask everyone to consider the same size gi , but I ask that everyone let
their gi reflect how generous God has been with His gi s. When it comes to a
real sacrifice, I know that it is easier to spread it out rather than making a oneme gi . Maybe you would love to give $ 500. but you simply cannot afford
that right now. Give $ 50 now and every month for the next ten months meet
your goal. As you think about what you will give, remember this gi is different
from your gi each Sunday to our parish. This is in addi on to your offertory
giving. Also, please know these pledges are a “Good Faith Effort.” I know that
everyone will do their very best to fulfill their pledges, and that is all that we ask.
We know that mes change and you may need to change your pledge in the future. That’s ok too. My heart is filled with gra tude when I see your posi ve
response to pleas for a generous giving of your me, talent, (last week) and
treasure.

Designamos este fin de semana para el Compromiso de Apelación Pastoral Anual. Cuando me preguntan por el tamaño de la Parroquia de San Clemente, suelo decir que tenemos unas 3,000 familias, de las que solo la mitad están
registradas. El registro de los miembros de APA para 2012 nos dice que tenemos
2,755 familias pero pienso que son más bien 1,952 familias. Sin tener en cuenta
lo que nos dice la computadora de cuál es nuestro conteo, me doy cuenta de
que muchas personas vienen a nuestra parroquia pero no están registradas y
como consecuencia, no reciben la carta referente al APA que fue mandada a
aquellos que están registrados en la parroquia. El año pasado quedamos cortos
de nuestro obje vo por $12,222.27. La buena no cia está en que sobrepasamos
nuestro obje vo para el 2010 y el 2011 con una can dad de $16,234.13. Consecuentemente, tenemos bastante para cubrir nuestro déficit. Lo que me preocupa es que el número de personas que hacen su donación a APA ha disminuido
en 500 personas. Espero que escuchen una presentación lo suficientemente
convincente para comprometerse este año en APA. En las seis liturgias de cada
fin de semana se congregan 2,500 a 3,000 personas para dar culto y dar gracias
al Señor en la Eucaris a porque somos Católicos. En este Año de la Fe debemos
reflexionar en que este bello regalo de fe no nos viene desde un vacío sino que
se nos ha transmi do durante mucho empo de desarrollo y que hemos sido
beneficiados mucho por nuestra fe católica. Siguiendo a nuestra celebración de
cien años, se nos anima a seguir adelante con gran gra tud hacia Dios. No puedo pedir a todos que consideren la misma can dad como donación, pero les pido que sus regalos reflejen lo generoso que el Señor ha sido con sus dones.
Cuando es una cosa de sacrificio verdadero, es más fácil repar rlo en el empo
que hacerlo de una sola vez. Quizá le gustaría donar $500, pero no lo puede hacer de una sola vez. Puede dar $50 ahora y después cada mes lo mismo por diez
meses hasta que se consigue el obje vo. Piénselo y recuerde que esta donación
es dis nta a la que se da los domingos en nuestra parroquia. Esta donación es
adicional a la del ofertorio. Estos compromisos son “De buena fe”. Sé que todos
harán lo mejor posible para lograr estos compromisos y eso es lo que pedimos.
También sabemos que a veces las circunstancias cambian por lo tanto, pueden
cambiar los obje vos en el futuro. Mi corazón se llena de gra tud cuando veo su
respuesta posi va a pe ciones generosas dando de su empo, talento y tesoro.

Apelación Pastoral Anual 2013
...PORQUE SOMOS CATOLICOS
Cada año nuestra parroquia y cada parroquia de nuestra diócesis es responsable de una porción de la obligación financiera que se necesita para cumplir con
los ministerio, programas y servicios de nuestra Iglesia Católica. Juntos, podemos de ayudar a muchos más necesitados de lo que nuestra parroquia podría
ayudar sola. A estas alturas ya deberían haber recibido en sus casas, una invitación personal del Padre Tom, a par cipar en la Apelación Pastoral Anual
2013, ... porque somos católicos. Por favor tómese el empo para revisar el
folleto de las muchas obras apostólicas de nuestra Diócesis, las muchas personas que son atendidas a través de esta unión de recursos y la generosidad maravillosa que ha sido compar da. Debemos estar muy orgullosos de lo que
podemos lograr juntos, y le pedimos, en colaboración con el Obispo Lynch y
todas las parroquias de nuestra diócesis, considere dar un regalo/promesa a la
Apelación Pastoral Anual para beneficio de nuestra parroquia y lo más importante, por los muchos necesitados en los cinco condados de nuestra familia
diocesana. Cada regalo es valioso. A veces es di cil imaginar cómo un regalo

MISA EN ACCION DE GRACIAS
La Misa de Jubileo en Acción de Gracias con el Obispo Robert Lynch honrar a
todas las parejas en toda la diócesis que celebran sus bodas de plata, o 50 o
más años de matrimonio durante el año 2013, se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia St.
Catherine of Sienna el domingo, 3 de marzo a las 3pm. Una recepción con
hors d'oeuvres seguirá. Usted debe registrarse por avanzado contactando a la
oficina parroquial al (813) 752-8251 no más tarde del lunes, 11 de febrero.

En el Taller aprenderás a tener un mayor conocimiento de
Dios y a transformar tu vida a la luz de la Palabra, estableciendo una relación más ín ma, personal y profunda con El.
