PASTOR’S CORNER
An Infallible Way to Receive Jesus’ Gift of Self in
any Present Moment: “At the Savior’s command and
formed by Divine teaching, we dare to say, OUR FATHER …” The Lord’s Prayer, with its seven petitions,
animated by the Holy Spirit, that is, not just rattled off
with our lips as we distractedly focus on other things, is
able to open our minds, hearts, spirits and lives to receive GOD’S GRACE, and in this case, to receive JESUS’
VERY GIFT OF SELF. In the seven petitions our desires
to receive Jesus can be enkindled. We can receive JESUS’ MIND: his perspective, his kingdom, his will, his
obedience, his trust in the Father; JESUS’ HEART, a merciful heart toward all who sin and suffer; JESUS’
STRENGTH to overcome all temptations and evils; and
JESUS’ PROTECTION against the devil and all evil spirits.
The Lord’s Prayer, when prayed well, can dispose us to
an intimate communion with Jesus, our daily bread, the
Bread of Life, which can be consummated in a spiritual
communion in the present moment and in the reception
of Holy Communion at Mass. When we receive Jesus,
we receive his victory over sin, death and the devil. In
effect, the Lord’s Prayer can function as a mighty spiritual weapon capable of transforming any negative moment or occasion of sin, into a very positive moment full
of virtue and charity. What are we waiting for!? Let us
pray!

OUR LADY OF THE INEXHAUSTIBLE CUP
May 5 is the feast day of Our Lady
of the Inexhaustible Cup. Several
parishioners have reported healings
since this devotion began in our parish. On Thursday, April 28, 6:30
pm, Room 42, Parish Center, there
will a presentation on this miraculous
icon and other images of Our Blessed
Mother. On Thursday, May 5, 7
pm, in the church, there will be the praying of the
akathist to Our Lady of the Inexhaustible Cup. Booklets available at St. Marello Bookstore.
CROSS CATHOLIC OUTREACH

founded to create a meaningful link between parishes in

CHILDREN’S CHOIR
On Monday, April 25, we will be having practice for the St.
Joachim's Children's Choir. The practice will be in the rectory
from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. The children will be singing on May 1,
2016 at 11:00 mass. We will also be practicing before the
mass at 9:30 in the rectory if you cannot make it to practice on

TAMALE & TACO SALE
Hijos Consagrados a Maria will be having a Fund-raising
event, this Sunday starting after the 8:00am Mass. We
will be selling tacos and tamales. Proceeds will be to help
