THANKSGIVING DAY MASS
This year Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on
Thursday, November 24th. As in the past, on
this day only one Mass for the whole community will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in the
Church. Come and join us to give thanks to
God for His many blessings!
MONTH OF ALL SOULS
We continue to pray for all souls whose names have
been placed on the Altar. If you wish us to offer the
Mass for your loved ones during the month of November, please write their names on an All Souls
Envelope and return it to us. May they rest in peace!
Dance Easy
We will be having a mini fund raiser on Wednesday,
November 16th at 1:15 pm in the room next to the
chapel. Suggested donation $8.00 for a Dance
Easy Class (45 minutes). It will be a fun way to
move to a wide variety of music (from Classic Oldies to Latin Rhythms) using easy-to-follow dance
movements. Please wear comfortable shoes
or preferably, sneakers. Suitable for all age
groups. If interested, please register at the office.

words were spoken by Jesus nearly 2,000 years ago
when he instituted the Eucharist at the Last Supper.
The Church fulfills this command of the Lord whenever we celebrate the Mass. In doing so, we participate in the supreme mystery of our faith, the memorial of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection.
The way in which the Mass is celebrated has undergone various changes throughout the centuries, but
the heart of the liturgy has remained the same. It
continues to be a celebration of the banquet of the
Lord, in which Catholics come hear the word of God
in the Scriptures and receive the Body and blood of
Christ in the Eucharist. As we prepare to welcome
the revised English translation of the Mass, we can
be assured that the Eucharist we celebrate will stand
in continuity with that first Eucharist instituted by
Christ—and that the new translation is intended to
help enhance our worship of God and deepen our
participation in the Sacred mystery of the liturgy.”

Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time
NEW TRANSLATION OF THE MASS PRAYERS
The new translation will be officially promulgated for use in the liturgy on November 27, 201,
which is the first Sunday of Advent.
The new English translation of the Mass prayers and
responses seek to conform more to the Latin text.
•We will begin to use a more accurate translation of
for the Latin phrase “Et cum spiritu tuo,” which is
used four times in the Mass as the people’s response. Instead of saying “And also with you,” we
will say: “And with your spirit”
•During the Penitential Act, we will say: “Through
my fault” three times, and strike our breast as a
sign of real sorrow for our sins.
•The profession of our faith in the Nicene Creed will
follow the Latin: “Credo” which is “I believe” Instead of saying the plural: “We believe in one
God…”
•For the Lamb of God. As the priest holds up the
Sacred Eucharist for adoration, he now will say:
“Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes
away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called
to the supper of the Lamb.” People will respond:
“Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under
my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall
be healed.” This is a more accurate translation of the
Scripture passage!
•The Gloria and the Creed will have a more complete and precise translation of what appears in the
Latin texts.
•At the consecration, the words of Jesus about
shedding his blood, “for you and for many,” have
been restored to that translation!

of the Mass that are affected by these changes. The
changes are highlighted in bold letters.

Trigésimo tercer Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
CAMBIA NUESTRAS VIDAS
Las cartas de Pablo a los tesalonicenses están entre sus
primeros escritos movidos por su creencia, y la creencia
de la comunidad de la Iglesia joven, de que el retorno de
Cristo era inminente, y que dedicar tiempo y atención a
otras cosas era tontería. Con el paso del tiempo este
fervor disminuyó un poco. Hoy, cuando escuchamos sobre la llegada del fin de los tiempos, podemos preguntarnos si la tenemos que tomar en serio, si es que realmente creemos que Cristo todavía puede venir por
nosotros como “un ladrón en la noche” (1Tesa 5:2).
¿Significa esto que debemos ponerle un paro a establecer metas a largo plazo, despojarnos de nuestros calendarios y agendas anuales, dejar de ahorrar para una
educación universitaria? Por supuesto que no. Lo
que significa es que necesitamos cambiar nuestra vida,
vivir como hijos de las luz e ir iluminando el mundo que
nos rodea con la luz del Evangelio. Entonces, en aquél
día, cuando los detalles de nuestra vida diaria se tornen
poco importantes, estaremos listos para encontrar nuestra paz y seguridad en Cristo Jesús.

Danzando Facil
Bailando Facil es una actividad de recaudacion de
fondos que inicia el mierles 16 de Noviembre, a la
1:15 pm en el salon parroquial. Se sugiere una donacion de $8.00 por una clase de Danzando Facil (45
minutes). Sera una manera divertida para moverse
en una variedad de musica (clasicos antiguos y Ritmos Latinos), usando movimientos facilies de seguir
de baile. Favor de llevar zapatos comodos,
preferibles tenis. Este tipo de danza es adecuado
