The Poor Box for the month of April is for three
pregnancy centers in Montgomery County: Centro
Tepeyac in Silver Spring, Rockville Pregnancy Center,
and Shady Grove Pregnancy Center. These Centers
provide assistance needed by women and their families
who are confronted with the concerns and difficulties
regarding the arrival of a new child.
Mass for the People
Shelter Hospitality Volunteers - the staff who run our
3 low-barrier emergency shelters in DC welcome the
help of volunteers to dole out “soup, soap, and hope” to
1,100 people each night. Sign up for a once-a-week/6month gig. You’ll be amazed what a difference you make
to those with no place of their own to call home.

trained to care for people who are experiencing a loss, or going

FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
If you would like to sponsor flowers on the
altar in memory of loved ones, living or
deceased, please print your name, phone
number, and the occasion or loved one you wish
to remember on a purple Flower Contribution
envelope, which you will find in the church vestibule.
Minimum contribution for two vases on the main altar is
$75. Please drop off your envelope in the collection
basket, or call the parish office, 301-229-7933, and
your request will be posted in the weekly bulletin.
We can only honor one individual request per weekend,
so please bear in mind that, sometimes, the date you
require may already be taken. Also, for your information,
we will not be able to accept requests for the sponsoring
of flowers on specific liturgical dates.
St. Bart's Middle School Youth Group: we are 6th, 7th and
8th graders interested in serving our neighbor, playing
together and getting to know Our Lord Jesus Christ! All are

Marriage and Family will host a screening of the
documentary film Desire of the Everlasting Hills in
Keane Auditorium at the Catholic University of America

Poland Pilgrimage in the Year of Mercy: Aug 12 – 21,
2016: Travel to the heart of Poland in this Jubilee Year

Pastor que nos guía y nos acompaña. Hemos recibido el don
de la fe sobrenatural y podemos escuchar la voz del Buen
Pastor que nos llama a ser de los suyos y le decimos que sí.
Seguimos a Cristo confiadamente porque nos conoce
personalmente, porque da su vida para salvarnos, porque
nadie nos podrá arrebatar a Cristo si le somos fieles, porque
el Padre nos ha entregado al Hijo para salvarnos, porque Yo
y el Padre somos uno. No tenemos miedo. Somos de Cristo
porque somos del Padre. Renovamos el propósito de caminar
en fidelidad. Cristo no nos abandona. Cristo ha dado su vida
por nosotros y está de nuestra parte para salvarnos y
guiarnos al Cielo. Necesitamos sacerdotes y almas
consagradas que prolonguen los sentimientos del Corazón
del Buen Pastor para la salvación de las almas. Por eso,

¿CUANTO DURA EL TIEMPO DE PASCUA?
Es una fecha simbólica, equivalente a siete
semanas, signo de plenitud e imagen de la
eternidad en que se espera obtener con la
resurrección de Cristo que es señal de la
nuestra propia resurrección. De hecho, el día
50, el domingo de Pentecostés, los discípulos
recibieron la plenitud del Espíritu Santo y
empezaron a predicar el Evangelio. Fue el
principio de la vida de la Iglesia, y el inicio de
la acción evangelizadora que perdura en la
Iglesia Misionera.
