C
ada edición de la revista BDLL supone un viaje por el
tiempo por el Barrio de las Letras, ya que se habla de una
zona cargada de historia, se informa de sus iniciativas actuales
y se atisba todo lo todos somos capaces de hacer. En la línea
de salida de 2015, destacan eventos con gran acogida como el
Mercado de las Ranas que, cada primer sábado de mes, ratifican
la vida y los signos de identidad de nuestro barrio, aquellos que
invitan a nuestros visitantes a comentarlo a otras personas y, por
lo tanto, a hacer aún mayor nuestra familia.
2015 volverá a acoger celebraciones como, en abril, La
Noche de los Libros o, en junio, DecorAccion, que volverán a
proyectar la imagen del barrio más allá de nuestro mapamundi
particular, en el que la unión de todos hará aún más interesantes
nuestras propuestas de comercio, cultura y turismo.
Desde la Asociación de Comerciantes del Barrio de las Letras
seguiremos impulsando todo este potencial: cada año organizamos o participamos en más actividades culturales o comerciales, sin parar de trasmitir a la administración pública que debe
cuidar y apoyar a esta zona de Madrid para que su futuro sea
cada vez mejor. Como decía el escritor francés Anatole France:
''El futuro está oculto detrás de los hombres que lo hacen'… En
eso estamos todos. ¡Feliz 2015!

EDITORIAL
The future: here and now
Every edition of the BDLL magazine is a journey
through time in the Barrio de las Letras, because it
talks about a neighbourhood full of history, provides
information about its current initiatives and shows us
everything we are capable of doing. At the beginning
of 2015 some very popular events will take place, such
as the Mercado de las Ranas (Frog Market), which, the
first Saturday of each month, will boost the life and
identity of our neighbourhood, encouraging visitors
to talk about it to other people and thus increasing
the size of our family even further.
2015 will once again host events such as the Noche
de los Libros (Book Night) in April and Decor
Accion in June, which will again project the image
of the neighbourhood beyond our boundaries and
where everyone’s combined efforts will make our
commercial, cultural and tourist offers even more
attractive.
The Asociación de Comerciantes del Barrio de las
Letras will continue to promote this potential: every
year we organize or take part in more and more
cultural and commercial activities, continuously urging the government to support this area of Madrid in
order to improve its future prospects. In the words of
the French writer, Anatole France: “The future is hidden behind the men who make it”… That’s what we
are all working towards. Happy 2015!

de cientos de visitantes que
comprueban de primera mano
la 'marca de la casa' de esta zona de
Madrid: las opciones para comprar y
para disfrutar de la buena hostelería
conviven con un excelente entorno
histórico-cultural.
En el caso de Isabel, hablamos con
ella durante una jornada de paseo y
compras: ''Conocí el Barrio de las Letras
hace dos primaveras, y siempre que
vengo a Madrid, reservo un hueco. Me
llama mucho la atención, por su diversidad de propuestas –por ejemplo,
anticuarios–, y el buen ambiente que
se respira, tanto en locales como en la
propia calle''. En el caso de Roberto,
canario, ha paseado en varias ocasiones por estas calles –''las compras las
dejo para el final– y le ha sorprendido
la gran mejora, en todos los aspectos,
de esta zona de Madrid.
También hemos coincidido con Dave
y Fiona, londinenses que conocieron
el barrio una lluviosa mañana del pasado noviembre, y que ya habían hecho
algunas compras –después, tenían planeado conocer la Casa Museo de Lope
de Vega–, mientras que a Tara, galesa
de Cardiff, le gustó tanto el barrio que
vive en él: ''Llevo 3 años en esta maravillosa ciudad, y del barrio me llaman
la atención la alternancia de bullicio
callejero y tranquilidad; las propuestas
para comer a cualquier hora o a tomar
un buen café o un chocolate mientras
ves a la gente pasar''… aspectos en los
que coincide el madrileño Roberto,
una prueba de los numerosos jóvenes
que disfrutan de las diversas propuestas de este enclave urbano.
Por su parte, la húngara Lutza –en sus
primeros momentos de llegar a Madrid,
vivió en la calle León– recomienda a los
numerosos visitantes: ''que caminen y
caminen, que se pierdan por las calles''.

Every day Every day, the streets of the
Barrio de las Letras invite hundreds of
visitors to enjoy the quintessential experience of this part of Madrid: the great
selection of shops, bars and restaurants,
set against a backdrop rich in history
and culture.
We chatted to Isabel while she was
out shopping for the day, “I discovered
the Barrio de las Letras in spring two
years ago and whenever I come to
Madrid, I always make time for a visit.
For me, this part of Madrid stands out
for its variety –its range of antiques
shops for instance– and the great
atmosphere of the independent stores
and the street itself.”
Roberto, from the Canary Islands, has
strolled around the area several times, “I
tend to leave my shopping until the end
of my visit.” He is impressed by the vast
improvements experienced by this part
of Madrid.
We also happened to meet Dave
and Fiona, two Londoners that came
across the BDLL one rainy morning this
November. They had already been out
shopping and were planning to visit
Casa Museo de Lope de Vega.
Meanwhile, Tara, from Cardiff, Wales,
loved the area so much that she decided
to move there, “I’ve been living in this
amazing city for 3 years now. I’m attracted to this part of Madrid as it’s both
chilled out and stimulating at the same
time and there are so many places to
eat or grab a decent cup of coffee while
doing a spot of people-watching.”
Roberto, Madrileño, is of the same
opinion; it is clear that many young
people are drawn to the proposals of
this urban enclave.

When Lutza, from Hungary, first
moved to Madrid, she lived in Calle León.
She recommends that anyone visiting the Barrio “should wander around
for hours and get lost in its beautiful
streets”...That sounds like a great idea.

Tenían camino por recorrer… ya que les conocimos en su primer
día en el Barrio de las Letras: ''Nos habían hablado bien de Madrid
en general y de esta zona en particular –en Londres hay muchos
lugares parecidos, pero ninguno con estas características''.
Como muchos visitantes, empezó a saber que pisaba un barrio
especial al ver los poemas escritos sobre el pavimento de la calle
Huertas. ''En Bilbao se pueden parecer la parte del Arriaga, la Plaza
Mayor, la Plaza Indautxu…''.

say that somewhere similar in Bilbao would be the Arriaga district,

places in London but none quite as distinctive as this one.”

Esta galesa que vive en el barrio –trabaja desde casa como
traductora e intérprete–, disfruta de sus paseos por una zona que
equipara al Roath, un distrito de Cardiff con arquitectura victoriana
que coincide con el sabor clásico de BDLL.
Por las tardes está centrado en un master, pero aprovecha varios
de sus momentos de ocio para quedar con sus amigos en zonas
como la Plaza de Santa Ana: ''Hay muchos planes para disfrutar del
barrio, es una zona especial''.
Tara, from Wales, lives in the area and works from home as a Translator and Interpreter. She enjoys wandering around a part of the Barrio
that she compares to Roath, a district of Cardiff that is characterised
by its Victorian architecture and shares the classical feel of the BDLL.
To take a break from studying for his Masters, Roberto often meets
up with friends in places like Plaza Santa Ana, “There are so
many ways to enjoy the neighbourhood; it really is a unique part
of Madrid.”

Vive en Lavapiés, trabaja en un hotel de Chueca y conoce muy
bien el barrio. De su Budapest natal, equipara a esta zona ''con los
barrios 5 y 6' -es que se denominan con números…''.
Más de pasear que de comprar, destaca los cambios en esta zona
de Madrid, que compara a La Vegueta canaria: ''Conozco el barrio
desde hace años y ha mejorado muchísimo''.
Lutza, who lives in Lavapiés and works in a hotel in the Chueca
district, is very well acquainted with the BDLL. She likens it to
“districts 5 and 6 in Budapest, my home town... They have numbers
instead of names”.
Roberto, who prefers taking a stroll to shopping, points out how
much this part of Madrid, which he compares to the La Vegueta
district of Las Palmas, has changed, “I’ve known this neighbourhood for years and I can tell you that it has vastly improved.”

REVEREND MOTHER FOR A SPECIAL, ONE-OFF INTERVIEW.
INTERVIEW
- ¿Cómo se vive en clausura en
pleno siglo XXI, hay algún cambio respecto al pasado? ¿Cómo
es una jornada cotidiana?
- La clausura se vive con el mismo espíritu que en tiempos anteriores. La
llamada que el Señor hace a seguirle
tiene siempre las mismas connotaciones: nuestra vida, centrada en Dios para
su gloria y, al mismo tiempo, sentir las
esperanzas y sufrimientos de los hombres como caldo de cultivo para nuestra plegaria y nuestras preocupaciones.
Nuestra jornada empieza a las seis
de la mañana, y se va desarrollando
a través de la liturgia, trabajo, recreo,
etc. La verdad es que se nos pasan los
días sin sentir. Después del Concilio Vaticano II se hizo una revisión de nuestra legislatura y se han llevado a cabo
algunas modificaciones secundarias
como cabía esperar, pero lo esencial
quedó vigente. No se puede perder
lo fundamental.

L a vida en el Convento de
las Trinitarias Descalzas
de San Ildefonso –orden fundada en el siglo
XII para liberar cristianos prisioneros en África– es un ejemplo
de la clausura en pleno siglo XXI,
en tiempos en los que la búsqueda de los restos de Miguel
de Cervantes ha difundido internacionalmente la imagen de un
edificio con más de cuatro siglos
de historia, en el que profesaron
la hija de Lope, Sor Marcela, y
la propia esposa de Miguel de
Cervantes doña Catalina Salazar
Dentro de él, la Reverenda Madre,
Sor Amada, conversa con BDLL
como superiora de un lugar de
recogimiento y oración en el que,
a pesar de sus votos, de su compromiso, nada de este mundo les
es ajeno.
- ¿Hasta qué punto se puede 'vivir' un Barrio tan activo como el
de las Letras desde la clausura?
- A nosotras no nos afecta, en sentido
negativo, toda la actividad y ambiente
festivo. Es más, nos alegra que el barrio sea un lugar de encuentro para
muchos madrileños. Ello no nos impide vivir el recogimiento propio de
la clausura.
- ¿Comentan entre ustedes los
diversos temas de actualidad –
política, social, cultural?
- Desde luego que hacemos tema de
conversación sobre los comentarios y
noticias que nos llegan de fuera. No
olviden que formamos parte de esta
sociedad, aunque con una proyección
de futuro. En esta Europa nuestra, están
disminuyendo las vocaciones.
- ¿Hasta qué punto han descendido?
- El señor sigue llamando, pero el ruido,
la comodidad, los intereses, le impiden
al joven dar un paso al frente. Se requiere generosidad, que luego se ve
recompensada enormemente.

Life in the Convent of Las Trinitarias
Descalzas de San Ildefonso – a religious order that was founded in the
12th century to liberate Christian
prisoners in Africa – is a prime example of a 21st century Convent for
cloistered nuns. The search for the
remains of Miguel de Cervantes made
the image of this four century old
building famous all over the world,
where none other than the daughter
of Spanish playwright Lope de Vega,
Sor Marcela, and the wife of Miguel
de Cervantes, Catalina Salazar, took
their vows. In this historic building, the
Reverend Mother Sor Amada talks to
BDLL magazine as the Superioress of
this place of recollection and prayer
where, in spite of the nuns’ vows and
commitment to God, they are not out
of touch with reality at all.
- To what extent can one really experience a lively neighbourhood like
the Barrio de las Letras from within a
cloistered Convent?
- We are not affected by the hive of activity and festive atmosphere in a negative way. In fact, we are glad that the
neighbourhood is a meeting place for
so many madrileños. This environment
does not prevent us from going about
our lives in the refuge of the convent.
- Do you and your fellow nuns talk
about current affairs, politics, society,
culture..?
- Of course. We discuss the news and
comments that come in from the
outside world. Do not forget that we
are a part of this society, although with
a view put in the future. In Europe, we
are witnessing a decline in religious
vocations.
- Would you say that there has been
an increase or decrease in religious
vocations?
- The Lord continues to call us to the
faith but the noise of modern life, convenience and personal interests prevent
young people from stepping forward.
One must possess generosity, which is
greatly rewarded later on.

- ¿Cuál es, en estos tiempos, el
sentido de rezar?
- En estos tiempos, como siempre, no
ha perdido sentido rezar. El hombre,
como hijo de Dios que es, tiene necesidad de comunicarse con Él. Nosotras, por vocación, cumplimos esta
faceta rezando no a título personal,
sino por todos los hombres y más en
estos tiempos que todos tenemos lagunas que llenar y heridas que curar.
- ¿Cómo se vive la Navidad en
el convento?
- La Navidad, en el claustro, tiene un
sabor muy especial y la vivimos desde la fe, la alegría y la fraternidad. Ya el
día 24, muy de mañana, empezamos
felicitándonos, por oficios, cantando,
y así hasta que pasamos por todas

las dependencias. Es una gozada y
siempre te resulta nuevo.
- ¿Cómo puede describir su
colaboración con los trabajos
emprendidos para hallar el enterramiento de Cervantes? Si se
encuentran y se dedica un espacio a su recuerdo en la iglesia,
¿hasta qué punto piensa que
pueda afectar a su retiro?
- Sabiendo que podría ser motivo de
molestias y demás, dimos autorización para el primer estudio, pensando en lo que ello pudiera suponer
para la cultura, Madrid y España en
cuanto al Turismo. No creo que si lo
encuentran y queda en la Iglesia vaya
a ser motivo de impedirnos nuestra
vida de retiro. Depende cómo se

- In times likes these, what is the
significance of prayer?
- In times like these, the act of prayer
is as significant as ever. Men, as the
sons of God, need to communicate
with the Lord. It is our calling to meet
this need by praying not for ourselves
but for all mankind, in this day and
age we all have some emptiness to
fill and wounds to heal.
- How is Christmas celebrated in the
Convent?
- Christmas in the cloister has a very
special feel to it and we experience
it from an understanding of faith,
full of cheer and fraternity. Early in
the morning on 24th December,
we begin the celebrations, singing
and singing until we have passed
through all parts of the convent. It
is a wonderful experience that feels
new every time.
- Can you describe the role of the
Convent in the project to locate
the remains of Cervantes? If they
are found here and a memorial is
created in the church, what consequences do you think this could
have for your retreat?

- Pronto empezaremos un nuevo año. En tiempos como los actuales, ¿qué consejo espiritual
daría a los lectores para afrontar 2015 y siguientes?
- Como vamos a empezar un nuevo
año, pediría a los que me lean que
lo reciban con gran esperanza, que
poniendo cada uno lo mejor de sí
mismo en beneficio de los demás y
buscando el fin común haremos que
el año sea lo que todos anhelamos:
fraterno, feliz, habitable, etc. Fuera
egoísmos y vanidades futuras.

organice. De momento, no nos ha
sido motivo de molestia en ningún
sentido, se han portado con mucha
delicadeza y respeto.
- ¿Qué ocupaciones destaca –entre las suyas propias y de las
hermanas– aparte de los oficios
religiosos: qué aficiones tienen,
qué trabajos desempeñan?
- Las hermanas, además del tiempo
que dedicamos al coro y ensayo de
la liturgia –que son más de cuatro
horas–, tienen asignada, cada una,
una ocupación: enfermería, cocina,
ropería, torno, sacristía y hay que
mantener la casa habitable, que ya
es tarea. Se hacen labores para una
tómbola a favor del Tercer Mundo,
se trabaja para un banco y las jóvenes están haciendo un curso de vida
religiosa.
- Nos encontramos en un barrio
literario por excelencia, ¿qué

and playwrights in history. Which
classic works have your read or are
reading at the moment and why
you would you recommend them?
- The book I have read most and still
read is the Holy Bible. In its pages
you will discover God’s love for mankind and that we are all connected
as one big family. The Holy Father
recommends that every household
has a copy and reads it together as
a family. This would really help with
everyone’s problems. I would like to
wish everyone a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!

would you give to our readers for
2015 and the years to come?
- With the New Year ahead of us, I

Una cápsula del tiempo
En un palacete del siglo XVIII, situado en pleno centro de Madrid,
se recrean los ambientes, las estancias y la forma de vida de la
burguesía acomodada del siglo XIX. Así, podemos pasear por
el salón de baile, el comedor o el jardín. La colección permanente atesora obras de Goya, Madrazo, Esquivel o Pérez Villaamil,

Arqueología del arte gráfico
Durante sus más de 100 años de vida, el diario ABC ha recolectado
más de 200.000 ilustraciones y dibujos. Todo este legado de
arte gráfico es el germen principal del Museo ABC de Dibujo e
Ilustración. Lo primero que llama la atención es el edificio en sí.
Aquí estaba situada, en 1900, la primera fábrica de cerveza Mahou
de la capital. Ahora, el edificio es una obra
vanguardista donde predomina el blanco y
las líneas rectas.
En la actualidad puede verse la exposición
'Los intríngulis de Mortadelo y Filemón contra Jimmy el Cachondo', que nos adentra en
el proceso de producción del largometraje
de animación 3D dirigido por Javier Fesser titulado 'Mortadelo y Filemón contra

Over its more than 100 years
of history, the newspaper, ABC,
has compiled over 200,000
illustrations and drawings.
All this legacy of graphic art
is the main feature of the ABC
Museum of Drawing and
Illustration. The first thing to
attract our attention is the
building itself. In 1900, it was
the site of the city’s first Mahou
brewery. Today the building is
a cutting-edge construction
with predominance of
white and straight lines.
Currently on display is the
exhibition ‘Los intríngulis de
Mortadelo y Filemón contra
Jimmy el Cachondo’, which
demonstrates the production
process of the 3D animated

a los ojos de una madre enferma de cáncer
y a los de su hijo Eugenio, un joven con
síndrome de Down.
Las reflexiones sobre familia, amigos,
sobre la sociedad en general, hacen que
'Olivia y Eugenio' haga partícipes a los
espectadores de una situación que no
se plantea solo como un drama, ya que
ofrece, como en la vida misma, opciones
para que la sonrisa nos haga una visita.
Una gratificante 'montaña rusa' de sen-
timientos que conforma
una interesante propuesta teatral, con la Velasco
–hace tiempo que está en
el 'hall of fame' de nuestros intérpretes– dándolo
todo para volver a tocar la
fibra del espectador con
su personaje de Olivia.
Hugo Aritmendiz y Rodrigo Raimondi se turnan en
el papel de Eugenio para
cerrar el círculo y dar una excelente réplica
a Concha Velasco.
José Carlos Plaza –más de cien obras dirigidas por él– comenta: '' Hay obras de
teatro que me producen admiración, otras
sonrisas, incluso carcajadas, otras penas o
preocupación, las menos reflexión, pero
las hay que desde las primeras palabras
simplemente te encogen el corazón, y no
te sueltan hasta el último momento…''.

From the 6th of November to the 25th of January,
at the Bellas Artes Theatre, spectators can enjoy
the return to the stage of the great Concha Velasco,
who will continue touring through various Spanish
theatres with this Herbert Morote play.
This Pentación Espectáculos and Focus production, directed by José Carlos Plaza, is a review of all
kinds of values, through the eyes of a mother suffering from cancer and her son, Eugenio, a young man
with Down Syndrome.
The reflections on the family, friends and society
in general in ‘Olivia and Eugenio’ involve the spectators in a situation which is approached not only as
a drama since, like life itself, it also offers moments
which bring a smile to your lips. A gratifying ‘rollercoaster’ of emotions in an enthralling play, with
Concha Velasco—who has been in the Spanish Hall
of Fame for many years—giving her all to touch the
heart of the spectator in her role as Olivia. Hugo Aritmendiz and Rodrigo Raimondi take turns in the role
of Eugenio to close the circle and provide a superb
complement to the performance of Concha Velasco.
José Carlos Plaza –who has directed over one
hundred plays—says: “There are some plays that
arouse admiration, some that make you smile or
laugh, some that make you sad or worried, others
that make you think, but there are some that from
the first line just grab hold of your heart and don’t let
go until the last moment…”; a great way to recommend the truly emotional experience of going to the

- Desde el siglo XXI podemos retroceder hasta los Reyes
Católicos…
- Bueno, ésa era la época en la que Madrid tenía ocho mercados de abastos, y nosotros estábamos entre ellos. El tiempo
pasó y la normativa exigía estar en un recinto cerrado, y así
hasta ahora.
- ¿Cuáles son sus 'marcas de la casa'?
- Ofrecemos una práctica combinación entre el mercado tradicional y las nuevas generaciones. Por ejemplo, en nuestra
parte de 'gastromercado' conviven nuevas corrientes con la
alimentación de toda la vida. Hay varias cosas que solo tenemos nosotros, como en el caso de Algas del Mundo, y si

tenemos alimentación italiana, la regenta un italiano, y así
con la japonesa, la francesa, etc. Disponemos de un amplio
abanico de servicios, que se adaptan a las necesidades del
cliente, con espacios para tener un descanso y otros, como
la Escuela de Flamenco y Danza Española Amor de Dios, para
adquirir conocimientos.
- Y, siempre, sacan ventaja del trato personalizado…
- Sí, es uno de nuestro principales puntos fuertes. Puedes encargar lo que quieras que, al día siguiente, lo tienes, hacemos
la vida más fácil a nuestros clientes. Y este trato personalizado
llega hasta el más mínimo detalle. Si a esta relación con el
cliente añades que no es más caro que en grandes superficies
–al revés– , que los productos son más frescos…
- ¿Qué ayuda echa en falta por parte de las instituciones?
- Que nos den publicidad… no en el sentido de anuncio, sino
que informen más, todo apoyo es poco, ya que, al fin y al cabo,
somos municipales. El día que fallemos nosotros, fallará todo.
- Suelen ser muy activos, ¿qué preparan para los próximos meses?
- Casi todos los meses hacemos eventos: Día de la Tapa, San
Valentín, San Isidro –repartimos ropsquillas, claveles, etc.–, y
preparamos para Navidad un mercadillo de artesanía, actuaciones de ópera y villancicos… Y para el año que viene esperamos inaugurar la esperada rehabiltación de la fachada. A. V.

the Catholic Monarchs…,
- Well, this was when Madrid had eight food markets and
the Mercado de Anton Martín was one of them. Over time
it became a requirement for markets to be located in an
enclosed space, which is how the market has remained
until today. - What are your signature products?
- The Mercado is a mix between a traditional market and
new generations of entrepreneurs. Take our “gastromarket”
that combines everyday foods with contemporary product
lines. Many items can only be found here, like the seaweed
from Algas del Mundo. If there’s Italian food on offer, then
it’ll be an Italian who runs the stall, the same goes for
Japanese food, French food, etc. We have a whole range of
services available that are adapted to the customer’s needs.
There are spaces where you can take a break from shopping
and venues designed for learning, like the Flamenco and
Spanish Dance School 'Amor de Dios'.
- And your personalised treatment of customers always
gives you the edge…
- That’s right. It’s one of our main strengths. You can order
something from us and collect it the next day; we try to
make our customer’s lives easier. We pay attention to the
shopper’s needs, to the very last detail. In addition to the
rapport we build with our clientele, our prices are no higher
than the big shopping centres -quite the opposite- and
you’ll find that our products are fresher.
- In what areas could local institutions do more?
- They could make more of an effort to promote the market,
not necessarily through advertising but by providing more
information about us. We need as much support as we can
get; at the end of the day, we’re local traders… when we go,
so will the rest.
- The Mercado is always organizing activities, what do
you have in store for the coming months?
- Almost every month we put on an event: Tapas festivals,
Valentine’s Day, San Isidro. We give out rosquillas (Spanish doughnut), carnations etc. For Christmas we set up a
crafts fair and organise opera performances and Christmas
carols. In the new year, we hope to unveil the long-awaited
restoration of the market’s façade.

uan Medina, Jefe de Sector del hotel, pensaba en
preparar un cóctel que se identificase con el Vincci
Soho… en su moderno y acogedor diseño destacaba
el rojo, que supuso el primer paso para encontrar
la frambuesa. El vodka premium y la espuma de
piña –el polvo de oro para decorar no aporta sabor–
completan una grata experiencia tanto en primaveraverano como en otoño-invierno, cuando la terraza
cubierta propone un microclima para olvidar el estrés
cotidiano. Si se habla de 'rojo pasión', también se
puede hablar, probado este cóctel, de 'rojo sabor'.

Juan Medina, Division Manager of the hotel, decided to prepare
a cocktail to represent the Vincci Soho. The hotel’s modern, cosy
decor was predominantly red, so he chose raspberry as the main
ingredient. Premium vodka and pineapple foam –the decorative
gold dust is flavourless— complete this delicious cocktail to be
enjoyed either in summer or winter, when the microclimate
of the covered terrace offers a cosy atmosphere in which to
disconnect from the stress of your daily routine. They say red
is the colour of passion, but after trying this cocktail, no one
will deny that red is also the colour of flavour.

Mary' al 'whisky sour', en ELHECHO (Huertas, 56) atinan en el centro de la diana al machacar hierbabuena,
añadir ron, zumo de limón, hielo y soda o agua con gas.
En el caso del HOTEL ME SANTA ANA (Plaza de Santa
Ana, 14), en su terraza The Penthouse, el Ron Seven Tiki
es decisivo para dar color a su 'black mojito' –y el mes
pasado hablamos en esta sección del Aranta del HOTEL
URBAN (Carrera de San Jerónimo, 34), con tequila, zumo
de arándanos, sirope de agave…–. Más referencias:
MATUTE (Plaza Matute, 12), con propuestas clásicas, más
originales como Margarita de Litchi o sus combinados con
sake; los cócteles del restaurante-bar MIRANDA (Huertas,
29) y CARBONES 13 (Carbones 13) que a su carta de coctelería, añade 30 gin tonics diferentes. Y podemos encontrar restaurantes de todo tipo en los que, además, se puede degustar un cóctel: MISS SUSHI (Plaza de Santa Ana,
