u colección 2011 de flamenca
se denomina ‘Sueño flamenco’ ¿cómo sueña Vicky su
tierra?¿cómo ha soñado sus vestidos?
¡Mi tierra es mi inspiración constante!,
mi colección se llama 'Sueño flamenco' porque, haga lo que haga, tenga volantes o no,
esté inspirada en el sur, o soñada en Nueva
York, siempre será flamenca en su espíritu.
Su ciudad favorita para vivir es Sevilla,
¿cuál es el rincón que más le enamora?
Cada una de sus plazas, de sus rincones…, pero hay un lugar donde me
gusta sentarme y soñar: la calle Betis.
mirando a la Giralda, la Torre del Oro
y la Maestranza.
¿Qué le inspira, por ejemplo, un paseo por los jardines de Murillo, o por
la plaza de Santa Cruz?
Paz, serenidad, belleza…
Además de moda flamenca, destacan sus diseños de fiesta ¿qué look
propondría para una noche, digamos,
en el polo de Sotogrande?
Un vestido femenino, sensual, que
realce alguna parte de la silueta de la
mujer.

¿Para cuándo una escapada a la urbanización?
Me encanta Sotogrande y tengo grandes recuerdos de allí…, siempre quiero
volver.
Los complementos ocupan otra
parte importante en su trabajo
¿cuál es el que nunca puede faltar
para ir radiante?
Un aro, un abanico, un mantón,
complementos muy de nuestra
tierra, femeninos y que realzan la
belleza de la mujer.
Dedica una amplia colección para
vestir a las novias el día de su
boda ¿cómo concibe el traje perfecto?
El que sueña la novia.
¿A quién le gustaría vestir para dar
el sí, quiero?
A Angelina Jolie, uno de los vestidos
de mi última colección de noche está
hecho pensando en ella.

¿Nunca ha pensado en diseñar para
hombres?
No, jamás, es un mundo que desconozco.
¿Cuál es el momento de su carrera
que recuerda con más cariño?
¡Todos! En estos siete años he conseguido, poco a poco, que mi sueño se convirtiera en realidad y tengo recuerdos inolvidables…
Vestir a la muñeca Barbie; tener escaparate en Harrod´s; que un traje mío haya
sido fotografiado por Annie Leibovitz, y el
sueño más grande de todos: poder vestir
a la mujer.
¿Y la anécdota más graciosa sucedida en estos años?
Tengo tan mala memoria…
Es una gran emprendedora. Entre
sus últimas iniciativas encontramos la
puesta en marcha de una tienda online…
Sí, hemos estado haciéndolo un tiempo
pero al fin, ¡ahí está!
¿Algún proyecto en mente que pueda
contar?
Muchos..., no paro de soñar.■

er 2011 flamenco collection is
called Sueño flamenco (‘Flamenco
Dream’); how does Vicky dream
about her homeland? How have you
dreamed up your garments?
My homeland is my constant inspiration! My
collection is called Sueño flamenco because, whatever I do, whether it has fills or not, is inspired by
the south; even if it's dreamed up in New York, it
will have flamenco in its spirit.
You favourite city to live in is Seville;
which part of it are you most fond of?
Every square, every nook and cranny...
but there is one place where I like to sit and
dream... Calle Betis... gazing at the Giralda
(the cathedral's weathercock), the Torre del
Oro (the ‘Gold Tower’) and the Maestranza
bullring.
What does a stroll around the Murillo
gardens or Plaza de Santa Cruz, for instance, inspire in you?
Peace, serenity, beauty...
In addition to flamenco fashion, you
are also known for your party wear;
what look would you recommend for
a night out, let’s say at the polo in
Sotogrande?
A sensual, feminine dress that sets off
some part of the female figure.
When are you planning to have a
break in the resort?
I love Sotogrande and I have some great
memories of being there... I always want to go
back.
Accessories are another important part
of your work; which can you never go

without in order to be radiant?
A hooped earring, a fan, a shawl, accessories that are very Andalusian, feminine and
which bring out a woman’s beauty.
You have a large collection for brides
on their wedding day; how do you
come up with the perfect dress?
The bride’s dream dress.
Who would you like to dress for the
big ‘I do’?
Angelina Jolie... one of the dresses in my latest
evening collection was made with her in mind.
Have you ever thought of designing
for men?
No, never, it’s a world I don’t know anything about.
What moment in your career do you
remember most fondly?
All of them! Over the past seven years bit
by bit I have made my dream come true and
I have unforgettable memories...
Dressing the Barbie doll, having a display
at Harrods, when one of my dresses was photographed by Annie Leibovitz. and my biggest dream of all, to be able to dress women.
And the funniest anecdote that happened over the years?
I have such a bad memory...
You are a great entrepreneur. Among
your latest initiatives you have launched
an online shop...
Yes, we've been working on it for a long time,
but finally it’s there!al fin, ¡ahí está!
Any projects in mind you can tell us
about?
