Here we are beginning another year! As I look back at
2015, I can see the progress that our parish is making in many directions. We completed Phase 2 of our campus construction: the
parish offices and east parking lot. We have embarked upon some
new activities/ministries and strengthened the old. The annual Chili
cook-off is back and spicier than ever. We completed the baptisms
of almost 300 young people and adults through the sacrament of
confirmation in 2015, not to mention the many baptisms performed.
Several new Bible studies gathered in the past year.
Parish support of the Poor Clare Nuns, All Faith Community Cupboard, the Vladivostok Russian mission, and other efforts continue.
I want to thank everyone for your recent Christmas greetings, hugs, cards, gifts, food for myself and the staff, volunteering
to clean up & decorate for the holidays, and for your attendance at
the Christmas Masses.
We continue to be grateful to our adult and children catechists who spend many hours preparing and leading their classes.
We applaud our volunteer choirs and their leaders. We rely upon
the work of our liturgical coordinators and their helpers, the sacristans, altar servers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and homebound ministers of the Eucharist.
We acknowledge the generosity of every parishioner who
has steadily contributed to the financial needs of this growing community and to those who have made special contributions toward
the further construction of the campus property.
We are blessed to find our parish full of believers who consistently live out their faith in connection with the sacraments and
communal prayer, namely, in the Sunday Mass. And we remember
in our prayers all those who passed away in 2015 and for their
families.
In 2016 we will begin the design phase for the new parish
church – an incredible project that will require sacrifice and support
by everyone, but if the past is any indication, our future is one of
great confidence. May our Eucharistic Lord feed your minds and
souls and beckon you deeper into His loving heart of mercy.

If you want a better understanding of the story of salvation history
and how to read the Bible, please consider joining “The Great Adventure: A Journey Through the Bible”, an 8-week Bible study that
briefly outlines the major events of salvation history.
This opportunity to gain more biblical knowledge begins Friday,
January 29th at 9:30am in the St. Joseph classroom of the parish
office complex. You can sign up at the parish office or after the
Sunday Masses of Jan.17th and 24th. The registration fee is $20.00,
which covers the cost of the study guide. You will also need a Catechism of the Catholic Church and a Catholic Bible. We recommend
the NAB or the RSV Catholic edition. Due to limited space we will
only be able to accept the first 20 students. Join your fellow parishioners as we seek to learn more about our story of salvation!

El Bautismo Del Señor
Padres, Es Tiempo de Parar de Pedir
Permiso Para ser una Familia
Madres y Padres, les quiero dar a saber un secreto. Ustedes no
otras cosas mas: escuela, deportes, trabajo lecciones - tu nómbralo. Tenemos tiempo para todo menos para trabajar en la oración, y platicar y orar como familia. Lo peor es que hemos llegado
aceptar esto como si fuera normal y necesario, cuando no es así.

be a family.

Amen

Attention Men of St. Henry!
"Band of Brothers"
Our Father is calling his sons to strengthen each other in prayer and to grow closer to the Lord. "Band
of Brothers" invites you to join a small group of Catholic men from our parish who will meet for three
Tuesday evenings beginning Jan. 19 th in preparation for the annual Diocesan Men's Conference on
Feb. 6th. We will discuss Bishop Olmsted's letter to men "Into the Breach" and share insights into the
role of men in our society, in the Church, and in the family.
If you would like to attend the Men's Conference but do not want to go alone, this is your opportunity
to band together with your brothers from the parish; to get to know other men; to learn from our spiritual journeys and challenges; and to travel together to Phoenix on Feb. 6 th to experience this day as a
brotherhood. Tickets for the conference have been purchased at a reduced rate.
Please consider this as an opportunity to expand your spiritual horizon while getting to know some of
your brothers in faith.
Is the Holy Spirit calling you to take a leap of faith? Contact the parish office and ask to be included
among this group. Simply leave your name and phone number and ask to be added to the Band of
Brothers. You will receive a return call from Paul Krueger. We will also have an information table after
Masses the next two weeks.
