In the name of all parishioners of All Saints-St. Anthony Parish allow me to wish all our mothers and those who have taken upon themselves the cherished role and responsibility of “mother” a very blessed and happy day. We thank you for your love and life. We are forever grateful for bringing us into this world and showing us how to live. May the good Lord bless you always and may our Blessed Mother, Mary always intercede for you. Liturgically, our Easter Season is quickly coming to a close. This weekend we celebrate the Ascension of our Lord and next week the Church celebrates the Feast of Pentecost. It is important to remember that we never “end” our celebration of Easter but forever continue to live the new life Jesus gives us. Ascension and Pentecost remind us that God believes in us to incorporate the joy of resurrection into our everyday lives. Jesus’ return to the Father in heaven and His giving of the gifts of the Holy Spirit set us free to share in His joy. Easter, after all, is more than an event. It is the way we live in God’s love. Signs of Easter Life abound at All Saints – St. Anthony. Yesterday, our children in Religious Education received Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time and happily participated in our May Crowning. Many of our parishioners continue to work and plan for our upcoming celebrations for the feast day of our patron, St. Anthony. The Block Party, Yard Sale, and Raffle are all shaping up nicely. Our Parish Transformation work will finish on May 17th, giving our parish a clear plan of action for the next three to five years. I’m so grateful for all our catechists, volunteers, and parish leaders who have shared so generously of their time and talent making these events so successful! Next Saturday, May 14th, we will be painting our parish hall in the school building. The space is long overdue for a thorough cleaning and upgrade and I’m hoping that Saturday’s work will give us the momentum to make our hall a place for our parish families to enjoy. If you have experience painting and would like to share some of your time and talent to complete this project, Continued on Page 3 Miscelánea del Escritorio del Pastor ... El espacio ha necesitado desde hace mucho tiempo una limpieza a fondo y mejoramiento, y espero que este trabajo nos de el impulso Continued from Page 2 please feel free to come by the school hall any time after 9 am on Saturday. On Sunday May 22nd we will combine our 10 am and 11:30 am masses into one celebration at 11:00 am for a mass of Thanksgiving for my 25th Anniversary of Ordination. After mass, I hope that you will be able to attend a reception in the school hall (hopefully newly painted!) for some light refreshments, music, and fellowship. I am honored to be able to celebrate with All Saints - St. Anthony Parish. Thank you for allowing me to be your priest and pastor. We should be unveiling our parish website – ASSAparish.org – very soon. We’ve set a “go“date of June 12th and I’m hopeful that we will be able to figure out all the technical ins and outs for a successful launch. Once up and running all of our parish information, our history and news will be available for all to enjoy. There will be an opportunity for On-Line Giving, parish registration, and links to useful Catholic information sites. If you are a regular reader of our Archdiocesan newspaper “The Catholic New World” you may be familiar with the “To Teach Who Christ Is” campaign. Our late Cardinal George initiated this campaign several years ago as a way to help sustain opportunities for Catholic Education to all families of the Archdiocese as well as a means for individual parishes to raise much needed funds for various projects and ministries. Every parish in the Archdiocese is expected to participate in the “TTWCI” campaign, and All Saints - St. Anthony is scheduled to do so beginning this July. I will give more detailed information about this exciting campaign in the near future. There is so much more happening in our parish and within the larger Archdiocese. I pray that we never forget that Christ has already empowered us with everything we need to build the Kingdom of God here on Earth through his life, death, and resurrection. May today’s celebration of the Ascension and next weeks’ Feast of Pentecost serve as a constant reminder that God believes in us! Peace. Paz. pmc Have you been Spring Cleaning?
