MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Sacred Heart Parish is to be the spiritual focal point for the Catholic Christian community in our portion of the Diocese of Des Moines. This community: Believes and proclaims that Jesus Christ is Lord; Calls its people to experience and put into practice the love of Jesus Christ; Draws its people into the social and spiritual life of the parish so that each has a sense of belonging; Seeks to help its members take on the "mind of Christ" through prayer, study and worship; Uses and returns the gifts and talents God has given; Is itself a sign calling its members to hear and respond in ministry to the spiritual and temporal needs of people within the parish and beyond. May we be empowered by extraordinary second chances. And as we enter the world anew, let us turn the tides of despair into endless waves of hope.” Molly Fumia BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING: We will hold blood pressure screening this weekend in the Welcome Space Office. Speakers, Randy Kiel and Kathy Reardon will offer a holistic approach to depression, examining its impact on the physical, emotional, and spiritual life and how we can minister to those who are living with depression. How can you show Jesus to another person this week by how you act? Question for Youth: Thomas didn’t believe because he hadn’t seen Jesus with his own eyes. How hard is it for you to believe in God without being able to see God? How do you see God in the words and actions of others? Question for Adults: Jesus said: "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe." Give one example of how you will show your belief in Jesus this week - how you are being sent forth. (LPi), our Bulletin publisher, will have a representative visiting our church the week of April 4 to sell advertising in our weekly Bulletin. We would like to thank our present advertisers for renewing their ad and thereby continuing their support of our Church. For those interested in placing a new ad, this is your opportunity, to invest in an ad. Our Bulletin is a primary way we use to communicate with you. Through our arrangement with the Liturgical Publications Inc., the Church does not pay for the Bulletin printing, which saves us thousands of dollars every year. Our Bulletin is supported only through the generosity of the advertisers, many of whom are our own Church parishioners or members of our local community. Please support our advertisers with your patronage. Tell the business owner that you appreciate their support of our Church through their advertising in the Bulletin. This is one small way we can work within our own community. A strong and vibrant Bulletin is good for our community and a strong business community is good for our Church. To obtain information about advertising for the new publication year, please contact the Church office and ask for Mike or call Mike directly at 515.321.3732. Mike’s email is [email protected]. Keep in mind; our advertising sponsors make the Bulletin possible. LPi’s representative, Mike Denison, will be calling businesses around our parish and parishioners, the same week. Be prepared for his call, please. Any parishioners, can also buy an ad for your favorite charity, friend or talk to your boss and see if they want to invest in an ad. SACERDOTES SAGRADO CORAZON PADRE CHRISTOPHER HARTSHORN, PARROCO [email protected] 225-6414, ext. 310 PADRE LUIS MEJIA, VICARIO PARROQUIAL [email protected] 225-6414, ext.
