Dear Valued TOPS! Customer,
As manager of the Paratransit (TOPS!) service team, we are pleased to share a few exciting
new improvements in technology starting on October 1st 2013. We are confident these
improvements will enhance your TOPS! experience. The improvements will be as follows:
Scheduling a trip
How you currently make trip reservations will not change. You will continue to call the
TOPS! reservation center to book trips at 1-866-682-2258 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. You
will be able to schedule trips for, up to, three days in advance.
How we schedule trips will change. To improve scheduling, all trips will be scheduled after
our reservations line closes. Pickup window times will no longer be given at the time you
make your trip reservation. Do not be concerned. Your trip will be scheduled. Once all trips
are scheduled, our new automated telephone system will call you before 9 p.m. the evening
prior to your trip and provide your pickup window times for all trips you reserved for the next
day. If you miss the call, the automated telephone system will leave you a message.
You may still contact the reservation center and speak to an agent to confirm your reservation
if for some reason you did not receive the message. It is very important that we have a good
phone number on file to contact you.
Another new feature allows you to review your reserved trip information, book your trips, and
cancel a trip already scheduled simply by calling 1-866-682-2258. This automated telephone
system will be available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It will also be available to
internet users by going to the Broward County Transit website at www.broward.org/bct and
clicking on the link for Paratransit (TOPS!).
Day of Service
On the day of your trip, when the vehicle is close to your pickup location, you will receive
another automated telephone call to alert you that your ride should be arriving shortly and to
begin leaving your home to meet the vehicle. You may also contact the TOPS! reservation
center at any time to learn the location of your vehicle and how soon it should arrive. Our new
onboard technology will allow us to provide you with the exact location of your vehicle and
accurate estimated time of arrival.

Estimado cliente de TOPS!,
En mi carácter de director del equipo del servicio Paratransit (TOPS!), me complace informarle
algunas nuevas e interesantes mejoras tecnológicas que se implementarán a partir del 1 de octubre
de 2013. Estamos convencidos de que estas modificaciones mejorarán su experiencia con relación
al servicio TOPS! Las mejoras son las siguientes:
Al momento de programar un viaje
Como actualmente de hacer reservaciones de viaje no va a cambiar. Usted continuará para llamar a
los TOPS! central de reservas para reservar viajes en 1-866-682-2258 08 a.m.-5 p.m. Usted será
capaz de programar viajes de hasta tres días de antelación.
Lo que sí va a cambiar es la forma en la que nosotros programamos los viajes. Para mejorar el
proceso, todos los viajes se programarán luego del cierre de nuestra línea de reservas. Los tiempos
de espera ya no se informarán al momento en que usted realiza la reserva del viaje. Pero no se
preocupe. Su viaje quedará efectivamente programado. Una vez que todos los viajes hayan sido
programados, nuestro nuevo sistema telefónico automatizado lo llamará antes de las 9 p.m. del día
previo a su viaje y le informará los tiempos de espera para todos los viajes que usted haya reservado
para el día siguiente. Si no puede atender la llamada, el sistema telefónico automatizado le dejará un
mensaje.
Si por algún motivo no recibe el mensaje, usted igualmente puede comunicarse con el centro de
reservas y hablar con un agente para confirmar su reserva. Para poder comunicarnos con usted, es
muy importante que contemos con su número de teléfono actualizado en nuestro archivo.
Otra función nueva le permite revisar la información del viaje que ha reservado, proceder a realizar la
reservación de sus viajes y cancelar un viaje ya programado mediante una simple llamada al 1-866682-2258. Este sistema telefónico automatizado estará disponible durante las 24 horas del día, los 7
días de la semana. También estará disponible para los usuarios de Internet visitando el sitio web de
Broward County Transit en www.broward.org/bct y haciendo clic en el enlace de Paratransit (TOPS!).
El día del servicio
El día de su viaje, cuando el vehículo esté cerca del lugar donde debe recogerlo, usted recibirá otra
llamada telefónica automatizada para avisarle que su transporte debería llegar en breve e indicarle
que salga de su hogar para ir al encuentro del vehículo. También puede comunicarse con el centro
de reservas de TOPS! en cualquier momento para averiguar la ubicación de su vehículo y el tiempo
estimado de llegada. Nuestra nueva tecnología a bordo nos permitirá proporcionarle la ubicación
exacta de su vehículo, así como una estimación precisa del tiempo de llegada.
