Soria is a very active capital thanks to the tourism industry. It has kept
its historic, medieval character and every bit of the city gives off a kind of
magic. This magic has drawn travellers throughout time. Its history began
with the Romans, however, in the hill where the castle now rests remains
of an older settlement have been found. This settlement was surely tied to
the existence of the Celtiberian town of Numantia.
Navaleno, a town in the County of Pinares, is located on the
national highway N-234, 48.7 kilometres from Soria. Its economy is
mainly based around the timber industry.
It has one of the principal fungus habitats and its
Mycological Centre houses a permanent exhibition
about the world of mushrooms.
San
Leonardo, is another town in the County
of
Pinares. It is located on N-234 53.7 kilometres from
Soria. The town’s population mostly works in the timber
and food industry. A section of the
Cañon del Río
Lobos Natural Park falls within the town’s land.
Standing out among the monuments are its castle, built
in 1563 by Juan Manrique de Lara, the 17th century
church dedicated to San Leonardo Abad, the Medieval
Arch which marks one of the gates in the town’s original
wall, and the Casas de los Ferrones. This house is a
representation of traditional architecture from the 18th
and 19th centuries.
Covaleda is located in a spectacular area of pines and immersed in breathtaking natural
surroundings in the heart of the Sierra de Urbión, these mountains have impressive mountain
landscapes with glacial lakes and impressive gorges.
The panoramic views from any point of the woods around
Covaleda are breathtaking as before your eyes you will see on
of the most significant populations of native pine in all of
Europe.
Abejar, is known as "The Door to the Pinares" as is used as a
point of access to the Pinares de Urbión and the starting basin
of the Douro river. It is located 28 kilometres from Soria and has
beautiful natural landmarks such as the Dehesa river and its
meadows as well as the vista from the Atalaya fortress. From
here the Urbión and Cebollera Sierras can be taken in. It also
enjoys extensive pine, oak, and juniper forests, and the Cuerda
del Pozo lake. This lake is an important tourism centre and an
ideal place for water sports.
Surrounded by pines, oaks, and junipers, its rich mycological
heritage, its history, and its traditions all make this special
community an ideal place to explore new forms of relaxation and
fun. This is where you can meet and learn more with nature,
culture, and different ways of life.
Vinuesa, is located in the eastern section of the County of
Pinares at the foot of the Urbión peaks and the Sierra de la
Cebollera. At 1,107 metres above sea level in the
northeastern part of the province of Soria, it is only 35
kilometres from the capital. The Urbión and Cebollera
Sierras shelter iit on the north. Here you can find the
Black
Lagoon. This lagoon was written about by Antonio Machado
in his novel Los hijos de Alvargonzález. The mountain
range’s impressive landscape and the glacial lake make it
one of the most attractive tourist locations in the centre of the
Iberian peninsula.
Cuerda del Pozo reservoir, located 45 kilometres from Soria,
is a beautiful natural space nestled between mountains, pines,
and towns with a distinct personality. This body of water is a
“fresh water sea” where can find beautiful places such as the
Playa Pita Beach and other small, sandy beaches. It is a great
spot for water sports and fishing.

RULES:
1. Participation is limited to those who have a 2016 Orienteering License.
2. Teams will be formed of four runners. At least two of them must be women.
3. All members must represent the same Autonomous Community.
4. The first and last legs must be run by women.
5. Winning time for each leg: 12 to 15 minutes.
6. Map created in accordance with ISSOM standards.
PRIZE GIVING CEREMONIES
The prizes for the Spanish Mixed Sprint Relay Championship will be given in the competition
area on Saturday, July 2nd after the relay is finished.
The prizes for the combined times from the two Sprint races will be given in the competition
area on Monday, July 4th after the Vinuesa sprint is finished.
The prizes for the combined times from stages 1, 2, 5, 6 will be given in the competition area
on Wednesday, July 6th after the relay is finished.

NOTES:
When registering you must select only one of the two hard floors, the one in San Leonardo or
the one in Covaleda. This will be assigned for the entire event with a accreditation card which
will be provided with the bib number.
Maps for training and the model event will be available in the event centre located in
Navaleno.
The Club Navaleno-O will return the registration fee to the first three finishers in the
Elite classes (ME and FE) for the 5 Days Trophy (the total for the times of the stages 1st,
2nd, 5th and 6th).
