él brota la vida divina en el hombre. Sólo hace
falta acercarse a él, permanecer en él, para tener esa vida. Y esa vida
no es más que el inicio de la santidad del hombre, la santidad de
Dios, que el hombre puede alcanzar con la ayuda de la gracia. Todos
anhelamos beber del Corazón divino, que es fuente de vida y
santidad.
We can understand that the devotion to the
Sacred Heart of Jesus, of its very nature, is
a worship of the love with which God,
through Jesus, loved us, and at the same
time, an exercise of our own love by
which we are related to God and to other
men. Or to express it in another way,
devotion of this kind is directed towards
the love of God for us in order to adore it,
give thanks for it, and live so as to imitate
it; it has this in view, as the end to be
attained, that we bring that love by which we are bound to God to the
rest of men to perfect fulfillment by carrying out daily more eagerly
the new commandment which the divine Master gave to His
Apostles as a sacred legacy when He said: "A new commandment I
give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you. . .This is
My commandment that you love one another as I have loved
you."(108) And this commandment is really new and Christ's own,
for as Aquinas says, "It is, in brief, the difference between the New
and the Old Testament, for as Jeremias says, 'I will make a new
covenant with the house of Israel.'(109) But that commandment
which in the Old Testament was based on fear and reverential love
was referring to the New Testament; hence, this commandment was
in the old Law not really belonging to it, but as a preparation for the
new Law."
Pastor’s message
Dear Parishioners,
We are living the Season of Easter, each means, fifty days of
celebrations of the resurrection of the Lord. During this time I
invite you to read and reflect on the readings of the New
Testament that tells us of the presence of the Risen Lord in
the Christian communities.
Today we celebrate the Second Sunday of Easter; we hear the
testimony of the apostles of Jesus: “We have seen the Lord!”
and “My Lord and my God!” And we hear the consoling
word of Jesus: “Blessed are those who have not seen and have
believed”.
The last decades, this Second Sunday of Easter is also called
the Sunday of the Divine Mercy; this devotion has touched
many hearts.
This coming week, we, the Scalabrini Fathers and Brothers
are meeting for our annual meeting; we ask you to pray for a
successful assembly. We will convey your greetings greeting
to the fathers that have served here before.
Have a blessed Easter Season!

Estimados Parroquianos y Visitantes,
Estamos celebrando la Estación de la Pascua, o sea, los
cincuenta días de la presencia de Cristo Resucitado. Durante
este tiempo estamos invitados a leer y meditar las apariciones
del Señor Jesús a sus apóstoles y en su presencia en las
comunidades cristianas.
Hoy celebramos el Segundo Domingo de la Pascua; nosotros
escuchamos el testimonio de los apóstoles: “¡Hemos visto al
Señor!” y “¡Señor mío y Dios mío!”. Y nosotros escuchamos
las palabras consoladoras de Jesús, “¡Dichosos los que creen
sin haber visto!”
En las últimas décadas, este Segundo Domingo de Pascua es
también llamado el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia; ésta
devoción ha tocado el corazón a muchas personas.
Esta semana, nosotros los co-hermanos Scalabrinianos
tenemos nuestra reunión anual; les pedimos sus oraciones
para que tengamos una buena asamblea. Les aseguramos que
llevamos los saludos de Uds. a los padres que estuvieron aquí
en el pasado.

Sharing in the sacrifice of the Mass, we hear every time the words of Christ that will appeal to the apostles: "I leave you peace, my peace I
give you." In addition, we implore the Lord to give us "peace and unity according to his will" and to give "peace in our days."
Every time that Christ appeared to the Apostles after winning death, wished peace, knowing that all of them wanted to. In giving the
apostles the power to forgive sins, Christ has brought peace restless soul of man. The soul created by God longs for God's peace with God is
the foundation of peace among men. Freed from the slavery of sin, man is at peace, is the soul rejoicing in peace. Peace reigns over the
hearts pure. It is starting from the inner peace of the heart, relying on it, which can be determined outer peace in the family, between
neighbors, within the Church, between peoples. God calls all people to join his people only. His desire, which is to bring together all people
within a single community to save them is already expressed in the Old Testament. The Jews understood to be a single people in faraway
Easter night in which God separated them from the Egyptians and showed them the Promised Land.
The Passover is to remember this event to the next generation: in this day every Jew has the feeling of being again brought out of Egypt, to
be saved. Similarly, the new people of God was born on Easter Sunday, when the eternal harmony was restored and sealed by the blood of
the Son of God These people created by Christ is the Church.
Partecipando al sacrificio della Messa, noi ascoltiamo ogni volta le parole di Cristo che si rivolge agli apostoli: “Vi lascio la pace, vi do la
mia pace”. Inoltre, imploriamo il Signore di concederci “unità e pace secondo la sua volontà” e di donare “la pace ai nostri giorni”.
Ogni volta che apparve agli apostoli Cristo, dopo aver vinto la morte, augurò la pace, sapendo quanto tutti loro la desiderassero. Nel
conferire agli apostoli il potere di rimettere i peccati, Cristo ha portato la pace nell’anima inquieta dell’uomo. L’anima creata da Dio ha
nostalgia di Dio. La pace con Dio è il fondamento della pace tra gli uomini. Liberato dalla schiavitù del peccato, l’uomo è in pace, ha
l’anima in festa, in pace. La pace regna sui cuori puri. È partendo dalla pace interiore, quella del cuore, appoggiandosi ad essa, che si può
stabilire la pace esteriore: in famiglia, fra vicini, in seno alla Chiesa, tra i popoli. Dio chiama tutti gli uomini ad unirsi al suo popolo unico. Il
suo desiderio, che è di riunire tutti gli uomini in seno ad un’unica comunità per salvarli, è già espresso nell’Antico Testamento. Gli Ebrei
capirono di essere un popolo unico nella lontana notte di Pasqua in cui Dio li separò dagli Egiziani ed indicò loro la Terra promessa.
La Pasqua viene per ricordare questo avvenimento alle generazioni successive: in questo giorno ogni ebreo ha il sentimento di essere di
nuovo condotto fuori dall’Egitto per essere salvato. Allo stesso modo, il nuovo popolo di Dio è nato il giorno di Pasqua, quando la
concordia eterna fu rinnovata e suggellata dal sangue del Figlio di Dio. Questo popolo creato da Cristo è precisamente la Chiesa.
EL CREER SE LO CONFÍA AL TACTO: La lectura del santo evangelio de hoy ha relatado de nuevo la manifestación del Señor a sus
siervos, de Cristo a los apóstoles y el convencimiento del discípulo incrédulo. El apóstol Tomás, uno de los doce discípulos, no dio crédito
ni a las mujeres ni a los varones cuando le anunciaban la resurrección de Cristo el Señor. Y era ciertamente un apóstol que iba a ser enviado
a predicar el evangelio. Cuando comenzó a predicar a Cristo, ¿cómo podía pretender que le creyera lo que él mismo no había creído? Pienso
que se llenaba de vergüenza propia cuando increpaba a los incrédulos. Le dicen sus condiscípulos y coapóstoles también: Hemos visto al
Señor. Y él respondió: Si no introduzco mis manos en su costado y no toco las señales de los clavos no creeré. Quería asegurar su fe
tocándole. Y si el Señor había venido para que lo tocasen, cómo dice a María en el texto anterior: No me toques, pues aún no he subido al
Padre (Jn 20,17). A la mujer que cree le dice: No me toques, mientras dice al varón incrédulo: «Tócame». María ya se había acercado al
sepulcro y, creyendo que era el hortelano el Señor que estaba allí de pie, comienza diciéndole: Señor, si tú le has quitado, dime dónde le has
puesto y yo lo tomaré. El Señor la llama por su nombre: María. Ella reconoció al instante que era el
Señor al oír que la llamaba por su nombre; él la llamó y ella lo reconoció. La hizo feliz con su llamada otorgándole el poder reconocerlo.
Tan pronto como oyó su nombre con la autoridad y voz acostumbrada, respondió también ella como solía: Rabí. María, pues, ya había
creído; pero el Señor le dice: No me toques, pues aún no he subido al Padre. Según la lectura que acaba de sonar en vuestros oídos, ¿qué
oísteis que dijo Tomás? «No creeré, si no toco». Y el Señor dijo al mismo Tomás: «Ven, tócame; introduce tus manos en mi costado y no
seas incrédulo, sino creyente. Si piensas, dijo, que es poco el que me presente a tus ojos, me ofrezco también a tus manos. Quizás seas de
aquellos que cantan en el salmo: En el día de mi tribulación busqué al Señor con mis manos, de noche, en su presencia». ¿Por qué buscaba
con las manos? Porque buscaba de noche. ¿Qué significa ese buscar de noche? Que llevaba en su corazón las tinieblas de la infidelidad.
Más esto se hizo no sólo por él, sino también por aquellos que iban a negar la verdadera carne del Señor. Efectivamente, Cristo podía haber
curado las heridas de la carne sin que hubiesen quedado ni las huellas de sus cicatrices; podía haberse visto libre de las señales de los clavos
de sus manos y de la llaga de su costado; pero quiso que quedasen en su carne las cicatrices para eliminar de los corazones de los hombres
la herida de la incredulidad y que las seña-les de las heridas curasen las verdaderas heridas.
