ZEN MEMORIAL STONE AT ADYAR
In the early C20 Zen Buddhism was introduced in European and
American countries by Dr. Daisetsu T.Suzuki. He and his wife being
members of the TS were closely associated with us. Nowadays the Zen
Buddhism founded by Bodhidharma is flourishing worldwide.
This Bodhidharma’s memorial stone, is founded making a vow to the
Institute of South India Buddhist Studies and a Japanese Jogetsu
Yamamoto.
Explanation of the picture.
Soon after Bodhidharma’s death, someone supposedly saw
Bodhidharma who was walking back toward India barefoot with a single
shoe in hand .Does the story serve to awake the intuition?
In the sacred garden of the Buddhist Shrine in the Theosophical
Society, a memorial stone, a gift from a group of Japanese Zen Buddhists
was unveiled by Mrs. Radha Burnier. Dr. Shu Hikosaka, Director of the
Institute od Sounth India Buddist Studies spoke about the history of
Bodhidharma and his interest in bringing this memorial to South India.

A principios el siglo 20 elbudismo Zen se introdujo en países europeos y
americanos por el Dr. Daisetsu T.Suzuki. Él y su esposa se fueron miembros
de la Sociedad Teosófica estrechamente asociado con nosotros. Hoy en día
el budismo Zen fundado por Bodhidharma está floreciendo en todo el
mundo.
Esta monolito de Bodhidharma, constituye un voto de apoyo all Instituto de
estudios budista del Sur de la India y al japonés Yamamoto Jogetsu.

En el jardín sagrado del santuario budista en la Sociedad Teosófica, el
monolito conmemorativo, un regalo de un grupo de japoneses budistas Zen,
fue presentada por la Sra. Radha Burnier. El Dr. Hikosaka Shu, Director del
Instituto de Estudios budistas de Sur de la India habló sobre la historia de
Bodhidharma y su interés en levantar este monumento al Sur de la India.
